About the property

Pet-Friendly, 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Mountain & Ocean Views

Located 3-minutes from the beach in Roads End, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath vacation get-away has a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean crashing onto shore and joining Cascade Head. A pet-friendly home that comfortably sleeps 6-8, Driftwood is located in the Belhaven neighborhood, a short 5-minute walk to Roads End State Park and Beach. Wandering another .9 miles down the beach will find you at Chinook Winds Casino.

Driftwood at Roads End sleeps 8, has plenty of parking, is easily located, and chefs will delight at the large, fully equipped kitchen. Over-sized windows bring sunlight spilling onto the beautiful hardwood floors and tile counter-tops. Center stage of this open floor plan is the kitchen flanked on either side by dining tables. A wide tile counter with bar stools and plenty of room make this kitchen perfect for families to gather round and help or sit back and watch the chef(s) in action. The kitchen also boasts plenty of electrical outlets, stainless steel appliances; a gas stove and a deep, double wide porcelain sink with a stunning distressed bronze faucet.

A Quiet Sitting Alcove for reading, visiting or a quick nap is separated from the TV Viewing Area by the large stairwell. Driftwood's three bedrooms and two full bathrooms are located on the first floor. Two of the guest rooms have separate entrances onto the lower patio leading out to the backyard. This lower secluded balcony is a perfect alcove to enjoy the suns rays and sounds of the ocean. The master bedroom has a private bath with a deep Jacuzzi tub to sink down into. The fixtures in both bathrooms are a beautiful oil-rubbed bronze adding to the sophisticated spa-like tones perfect for this airy coastal retreat.

If you can tear yourself away from the view, Driftwood at Roads End also has a separate game room with darts, Foosball and a game console-ready TV. For the four-legged members of your family, the game room, which is located in the detached garage has a doggy-door leading out to a large dog run that is fenced off from the main backyard.

The neighborhood has it's own private park which includes swing set with slide and basketball hoop. Grass area has a picnic table and fire pit with bench seating.

About Gretchen Rossi

I am not a morning person but watching the sun rise and sparkle on the water, then light up Cascade Head and finally wake up the homes just below is irresistible. Sitting there quietly beside the fire with a hot cup of coffee as the light streams in through all the windows energizes and soothes at the same time.

I can start breakfast before anyone is up, while the sun rises higher in the sky and the rest of the house starts to stir, perhaps they smell the coffee or hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore calling them. Our two dogs know today is a day for adventure and are already out in the yard sniffing all the smells so different from those back home.

Our family has owned a home over by Devil’s lake since I was young. The tide pools of Road’s End and the trails of Cascade Head were my backyard away from home growing up. This particular home with its oversized decks facing the ocean, hardwood floors, tiled kitchen and beautiful bathroom fixtures was everything I imagined and we are thrilled to be able to share it with others.

Gretchen Rossi purchased this house in 2006

Why Gretchen Rossi chose Lincoln City

I can start breakfast before anyone is up, as the sun rises higher in the sky and the rest of the house starts to stir, perhaps they smell the coffee or hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore calling them. Our two dogs know today is a day for adventure and are already out in the yard sniffing all the smells so different from those back home.

What makes this house unique

Be careful or you will come home with nothing but photos of the views from the Great Room and Balcony. From sunrise to sunset I could sit and watch the light play on the waves, binoculars ready for possible whale sightings. Driftwood has a large master suite complete with Jacuzzi tub that is a treat unto itself. Sink into the tub after a day of hiking Cascade Head just don't fall asleep. Save sleeping for the king size bed with a mattress that will make it hard to want to leave. I think my most favorite feature at Driftwood is the beautiful oil-rubbed bronze bathroom fixtures. Sleek and gleaming against the white walls stepping into the restroom is like walking into a spa retreat.

The perfect beach rental!!!

  • 5 of 5

The 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are downstairs and the living space is up. This is perfect because you can see the beach and waves from upstairs. All of the amenities are excellent. My family had an amazing time and we will rent it again. The only thing missing was a dog bed or two, but my fur babies made do.

Owner's Response: We're pleased Driftwood's layout worked well for your family. We are pet friendly but have never supplied doggy beds. Sorry if that caused any inconvenience. We hope your family does return for another stay. Thank you, Gretchen and Mark

Best Road's End house!

  • 5 of 5

This was the best Road's End house we have ever rented! It was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. We loved everything about this house, and hope to stay there again in the near future.

Lovely home

  • 4 of 5

Great home. Nice rooms. Loved the decks. There is a neighborhood deer family, which is fun to watch. The only down side to our visit was that the house has no air conditioning. This is not a problem on the coast most of the time, but one day of our visit was very hot and muggy. (90) We were unable to get the relief we needed in the house until late in the day.

Owner's Response: Usually the coast is an escape from the heat elsewhere and air conditioning is rarely needed. I am sorry there was such a hot muggy day during your stay. I'm glad you enjoyed the house layout and decks. I love seeing the deer also. Thank you, Mark and Gretchen

Whale watch from shore or take a charter. Storm watchers will love this house and the long view of the horizon and ocean crashing on the rocks and shore. Watch stunning waterfowl in Siletz Bay or along the trails at Regatta Grounds Park on Devil’s Lake, Schooner Creek, and Drift Creek Falls. Hike the Nature Conservancy Trail on Cascade Head, home of the endangered Silverspot butterfly. Hike at Drift Creek Falls. Low tide is time to visit the Roads End tide pools and secret beach. Have a beach bonfire and roast a few hot dogs and marshmallows.

Driftwood at Roads End is heaven for photographers and artists of all kinds. The sprawling decks of Driftwood make for interesting angles and viewpoints without ever leaving the house. Beyond your vacation home professional and amateurs alike will find no shortage of subjects. If animals are what you after, Slietz Bay is home to harbor seals, brown pelicans, gulls, sanderlings, and eagles. Not to be outdone, Devils Lake is home to colorful perching wood ducks, loons, coots and the Great Blue Heron. Other areas in and about Lincoln City are home to Roosevelt Elk, fresh-water otters, carp the size of poodles. Lincoln City is proud to have two locations recognized by the National Audubon Society. Not just for artists, Lincoln City is visited annually by the sleek and elegant giants of the ocean as they migrate. Whale watching from shore is best done from up high making Roads End and Cascade Head prime viewing spots. Grey whales can be seen year round and Orca Pods pass by on occasion.

Take part in one of the Lincoln City area quests: Kirtsis Park, Friends of Wildwoods and Trails, Regatta Grounds, Spring Lake, and Cutler. Have a picnic at Regatta Park, or anywhere along the coast.

Kayak on Devils Lake. Go clamming in Siletz Bay. Build a sand castle or watch the annual Sand Castle Building Contest. Attend the Lincoln City Kite Festival, or chowder cook-off. Other annual cook-offs include January's Mardi Gras Jambalaya cook off, May’s Fish Taco Challenge and October hosts the Wild Mushroom Cook-Off. The Oregon Coast Pride event is in September followed in October by the Artober Brewfest.

Beginning in October hunt for hand-crafted glass floats and glass painted coasters on the beaches or blow your own glass float at one of the local glassblowing studios. Take a hands-on class at the Culinary Center, or sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy a cooking demonstration featuring locally grown and raised foods. Get married on the beach or have your wedding right at Driftwood at Roads End. Spread your loved ones ashes at sea. Crabbing and Clamming for dinner is fun any time of the year. The Siletz Bay at the south edge of Lincoln City is a prime spot for both. Check out the concert schedules at Chinook Winds Casino and Salishan Spa & Golf Resort. Go on a Lighthouse Tour or take a drive along the coast. Horseback ride along the ocean or high above on Cascade Head. Dining in Lincoln City is a celebrated event in Lincoln City whether you are at Mo’s Restaurant, a traditional coastal favorite famous for their clam chowder, or bringing dinner home fresh from the dock and local produce stand. Because we know your dog is part of your family, vacationing here is not-only stress-free but enjoyed by all. Take your pet hiking, fishing, walking along the beach or leave him safe at Driftwood while you take in a concert or head out on an early morning deep sea fishing charter.
