About the property

Ideal For 4; Wraparound Deck, Sunset Views, HDTV/WiFi/Phone

Willow Ridge is located in the private gated community of Shagbark, which boasts 1,300 acres of woodlands in the rolling foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Shagbark has a community pool (accessible Memorial to Labor Day), tennis courts, and ground-level parking for your motorcycles and small trailer.*

Close to the towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and convenient to all the outdoor opportunities of the Smokies, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the mountains. Willow Ridge is perched in a clearing on a full acre of land with only a few cabins in sight. In fact, The drive is only 7.3 miles from Willow Ridge to the Pigeon Forge Parkway (less than 10 minutes)--really convenient! Close enough to be part of it all, and yet far enough away to experience mountain peace.

Our luxury retreat is a smoke- and pet-free 1,300-square foot log cabin with spacious exposed-beam vaulted ceiling interiors, hardwood floors, and golden knotty-pine walls. Two private bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, pool room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and an upper-level office cove complete with computer, cordless phone (with free local and long-distance [US] service), and satellite wi-fi make this a perfect mountain retreat you'll never want to leave.

How does one enjoy a mountain getaway without enjoying a Sprawling Deck complete with locally crafted rockers and a four-person spa? It's where you'll spend every waking minute—even in the winter, when the meticulously maintained spa is heated to the perfect temperature. And don't forget about the deck-side gas grill with side burner: you may never spend time inside!

The spacious upper-level master bedroom features vaulted ceilings and expansive views, along with an electric fireplace and wall-mounted flat-screen television. A sunny nook facing south begs for a good book and some time in the comfy, plush armchair. Store your clothing in our antique armoire complete with hanger rack and built-in drawers. The stacked-stone jacuzzi tub sits just outside the full bath with walk-in shower. A solid wood king-size sleigh bed invites you for a good night's sleep. And the soft carpet will keep your feet warm on those cool winter nights.

Our downstairs guest bedroom features a wrought iron queen bed with silky-smooth linens. For those cool mountain evenings, tuck up underneath the fluffy down comforter and crack your windows to tune into the morning songbirds. Complete with a private closet and South Deck views, the guest bedroom opens into a semi-private bathroom with shower/tub.

The fully equipped kitchen comes with everything you need for a week of delicious living: refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, 5-burner glass-top range, microwave, and dishwasher. It's stocked with loads of cooking utensils any chef would admire, 4-slice toaster, auto-off coffee maker, and ample storage for your groceries. (And did we mention the custom-formed pottery mugs for your morning coffee?) Sit comfortably at the farmhouse table and chairs with side bench, or at the open breakfast bar with a bird's-eye view into the pool room. And pack light, since all guests may use our onsite washer/dryer. (Note: due to food safety regulations, guests must provide their own groceries.)

The living room features a floor-to-ceiling stacked-stone gas log fireplace and a huge flat screen television with DirecTV. Have a seat on our leather armchair and ottoman, or curl up on the leather sofa. Two glass doors open up to the wraparound deck, and massive windows give you views of the woodland mountain ridges all around.

Only the best would do in our gorgeous pool room perfect for those nights with a cold beverage and a healthy dose of competitive spirit. The AMF/Brunswick solid wood claw foot table provides the finest playing experience with slate top and ultra-smooth felt. Pull up a solid wood saddle stool at the cross-through breakfast bar and watch friends play the night away.

We've equipped Willow Ridge with all of the comforts of home, and we'd like to share it with you. Spend your next vacation at Willow Ridge, and enjoy a secure, peaceful retreat that offers an escape from the day's excursions to nearby Dollywood, Ripley's Aquarium, Cades Cove, the many hiking trails of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and the arts and crafts community of Gatlinburg.

About Sheri Bazany

We love the Smokies. Spending time at Willow Ridge is a treat we cherish. Willow Ridge gives us a chance to experience pure tranquility—from the time on the deck (morning, evening, and anytime we get a chance in between) to hiking the hundreds of nearby mountainous trail heads to our afternoon motorcycle rides through nearby sleepy, rolling back country roads of Wears Valley and the Great Smoky Mountain National Forest.

Willow Ridge is our retirement home. It's our future. And until we can find the time to be here full-time, we want to share it with you. A home this rich in character and amenities deserves to be enjoyed by people who can fill its golden sunlight-drenched afternoons with laughter, comfort, and peace.

Modern, Clean, Quiet, and Privacy

  • 5 of 5

The cabin looks pretty new and clean. The view is wonderful and the inside is cozy. It is located in a gated subdivision so you feel safe but you also get the privacy. No to mention, the owner is responsible and kind. We happened to left a personal stuff there and the owner kept it safe and sent it back to us for free. Great overall experience!

perfect cabin getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a very relaxing time at Willow Ridge. We were able to play games, sit in the hot tub, sleep in, watch television, walk around the area, etc. We loved it! The cabin is very clean and very nice. The neighborhood is also nice. It is conveniently located near Pidgeon Forge, Gatlinburg, the National park, and the grocery store. I would definitely stay there again.

There are a few things that you may want to know however:

--The kitchen was not quite as well stocked as I had expected. The can opener did not work. The only casserole dish was fairly small for feeding a whole family. Only one of the pots/pans had a lid. We had to get a little creative.

--Although it was the end of March and beginning of April and still fairly cold, the fireplaces had already been disengaged, so we were not able to enjoy those.

--The driveway to the cabin is fairly steep.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review, Jayme! We're glad you were able to stay and enjoy the cabin! So sorry about the can opener; unfortunately, not being there full-time, we aren't aware of those little things unless a guest lets us know. Wish you would have called me to let me know and I would have gotten one replaced immediately. We arrived right after you for a little family getaway ourselves and were so surprised to see the gas fireplace pilot light was out -- must've been from a power outage or something. We simply turned the pilot on; again, just call me anytime (my cell # is posted in various places in the cabin and on your paperwork) and we would've had that fixed immediately. Who likes a cabin without a fireplace? :) I wish I would have known so that we could have made your experience p-e-r-f-e-c-t!

Relaxation at it's best!

  • 5 of 5

We loved Willow Ridge, it's clean, comfy and beautiful. We had a peaceful week with no neighbor noise, our king bed was very comfortable and the separate controls for heat/air for the first and second floor are great. There were walking sticks inside the door for hiking, and this may sound silly but boxes of Kleenex, I miss when places don't have them. The kids enjoyed several games of pool, and we enjoyed some relaxing hot tub time. Sheri is so easy to work with and answers any questions you have quickly, I would not hesitate to rent this cabin again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the wonderful review! I am the same way about Kleenex! :) Especially in the cooler weather or during allergy time! So we usually try to keep a box in the bathrooms at Willow. Glad you enjoyed your stay, and please come back! -Sheri @ Willow

Beautiful property to be able to disconnect from everyday life and relax.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was in great condition, very clean and nicely decorated and furnished. The owner (Sheri) has added many beautiful touches to the cabin to make it feel like a real home away from home - plenty of extra pillows and blankets, card and board games, the kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals, with all the utensils, dishes, and cookware that you will need, along with a very nice propane grill. Just be sure to bring groceries! There is a Kroger supermarket not too far from the cabin, but it's not exactly a block and a half to the corner store. You have to keep in mind that you are renting someone's home, and not a hotel room - there's no restaurant in the lobby you can walk down to for dinner so make sure you prepare! There is laundry and a dishwasher, and there are also 2 TVs with DirecTV so you can still catch your favorite shows if you want.

The property is located in a gated community and we had zero problems getting our parking pass and finding the cabin. The community is a bit off the beaten path and there are some gravel/steep roads within the community (the driveway to Willow is very steep but paved) so I would recommend front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive if you have it, especially in inclement weather.

As I stated, the community is a bit off the beaten path, but is only a short drive to the attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (it's on the Pigeon Forge side), as well as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is only a couple minutes away from the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster - which is great fun! We recommend a nighttime ride. Also recommend the Log Cabin Pancake House for a nice delicious big breakfast, and the beautiful drive through Cade's Cove in the Smoky Mountains Park. It takes a few hours but is well worth it!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Willow and Sheri was very accommodating to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and that it was more of an experience rather than just a stay. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Some things to consider:

*There is no cell service at the cabin (AT&T) but there is a complimentary landline and WiFi available. Not a problem if you're looking to disconnect!

*It is located in a gated community so you are not totally isolated - there is another cabin visible but not right on top of you. Also, because of this, don't plan on any wild parties, particularly later in the evening (we had no issues but there was a notice posted in the cabin about excessive noise).

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the nice review, Brad! So glad you had a wonderful time there, and your advice for other guests was perfect. Good advice about 4-wheel drive for the driveway in the winter months! It is steep; but we also make sure there is always a full bag of "ice melt" crystals to toss down the drive and melt it if there is any frozen mixture on the ground. Come again sometime; you are always welcome. :)

Absolute perfection!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was nothing short of perfect! The description was 100% accurate and in fact the cabin and location were even better in person. The property was very well maintained. The cabin was beautifully decorated, very well stocked, and provided all of the comforts of home. There were plenty of cooking utensils in the kitchen, plenty of nice plush bath sheets, and extra blankets and pillows. The Master bedroom located upstairs was definitely the highlight of the cabin. The king size bed was very comfortable and the vaulted ceilings provided beautiful morning sunlight. The flat screen TV was a major plus as well as the large jacuzzi tub. Although no one stayed in the second bedroom on the main floor it was very nice as well with a queen size bed and full bath. The hot tub was amazing and could easily fit 4 or more people. The cabin was super clean. All of the linens smelled fresh, the bathrooms were spotless, and the surrounding property was free of any trash. We loved the fact that the cabin was so secluded. From the very front porch the only thing visible of a neighbor was a rooftop through the tress. It was very quiet and peaceful. This cabin is a good little drive from the main road which is exactly what we wanted. The only thing we didn't expect was to encounter some gravel roads on the way and the driveway being rather steep. This of course was no issue at all however, if coming in the winter months 4wd would almost be a must. I would highly recommend this cabin to friends and family without any hesitation. The owner Sheri was great to work with. She was very quick with her responses and just very friendly. We absolutely loved our stay here and can't wait to go back!

Owner's Response: Bretta, your review just made me smile. Thank you! We adore our cabin and try to offer everyone the very best of everything! So glad you loved it. Yes, that driveway can seem pretty steep! But even my little rental Fiat made it up the hill without sputtering. :) Wintertime can get dicey if there's snow or ice, so we have a huge bag of "ice-melt" tucked away by the garbage cans/cage for guest use, and if it gets too bad, we recommend just parking your car at the bottom of the drive. We welcome you back anytime, and thank you again. -Sheri @ Willow
