The sheet and quilt cover were dirty on arrival. The room smelled like sewage all the time. There was no hand soap provided. The bed was small, as expected, but also sounded and felt like it was going to collapse every time we turned over. The towels were more like a hand towel size and did not get changed until one day I left one on the floor- this one got changed but the next time I did this they didn’t change it. I ended up buying towels in the market. The “cleaning” involved them emptying the bin and folding the quilt back. Our spare toilet paper was never topped up. There was never anyone at the desk; one day out of the 2 weeks we saw a lady sweeping the hall way and managed to communicate that we needed another toilet paper by pointing to the packet sitting on top of a cupboard; the next time we just went and took one from behind the desk. I think the small hot water system in the shower was to supply the whole lot of units so one day we didn’t have hot water. We also both hit our heads on the water system and my husband got burnt by the pipe.
The air conditioner worked well. There was a mini bar fridge in the room, a few coat hangers, a hairdryer, a TV and a couple of sachets of shampoo. Wifi was included so that was good. We selected this room because there was a gap at the end of the bed so my husband could hang his feet off and we could store our suitcases there to give ourselves a bit of room. It was right across the road from the MTR station which was great. We didn’t enjoy being in our room but we were in Hong Kong to visit my parents so spent time at their apartment and sightseeing and so just came back to sleep and shower in the morning. Overall, I wouldn’t class this as a “hotel”, but we couldn’t afford to pay much and this was certainly very cheap, especially for Hong Kong, and I realise that had we chosen one of the more expensive places, we still might have ended up with something similar.
Only a few minutes walk from Jordan station, easy to get a metro and public transportation to sightseeing such as central, Cauesway bay, Mongkok and Sham Shiu Po, there has a plenty of shopping malls nearby as well. We are two people, the room is good for rest only. The owner provided big towels, hangers, shower gels and shampoo. You have to buy your own toothbrush, for the longer travellers, I think the washer is good for you.
