We walk everywhere and everything is just blocks away from this cottage. If you want to get out of Bend, Mt. Bachelor, lakes, hiking and mountain bike trails are all just a half hour away or less. Kayaking and floating the river are literally out the front door. Almost every weekend has a festival and/or live music in town.
Michael purchased this Cottage in 2000
Why Michael chose Old Bend
There are few locations in the heart of Bend that are so centrally located to everything. It is in a charming neighborhood of older homes and every Wednesday during the summer is the farmer's market just a 5 minute walk. Thursday evenings include Munch n Music concerts in the park. Bakeries, pubs, restaurants, food carts, groceries and bike shop are a few blocks away.
What makes this Cottage unique
This updated cottage was built in 1939. It has a large atic space that was converted to a master bedroom with it's own private bath, office/computer work station that looks out over the neighborhood with a peek of the river. Back yard is wonderfully private with a small fire pit, and gas barbeque. Bring your bike, kayak, and paddle board.

Beautiful House and Yard
We enjoyed staying in your house. It is so close to all of the things that we enjoy in Bend. The back yard is great for family time (fires in the fire pit etc.).
Cute house, great location
We really enjoyed our stay in this cute little house in the heart of Bend. We were right by Drake Park and enjoyed walking there with our dog and baby. We were right next to great restaurants too. Everything in the house was clean and perfect. Michael was great about communicating with us and accommodating of our last minute changes in plans. Overall we were very happy with this stay and would recommend it to any of our friends.
Amazing location, very adorable house and yard.
We loved every minute of our time in Bend. The house and location were perfect, our only complaint was it was so perfect we hard a hard time leaving to go explore. We spent a lot of time hanging out enjoying growlers (from all the local breweries) in the back yard. We will be back for sure.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Easy walk or drive to local places and downtown
We certainly enjoyed our stay. We're glad it was just 2 of us ( our kids couldn't come this time), because the first couple days were pretty warm (mid 80s) and the upstairs bedroom was hot and stuffy; didn't think the fan would make it cool enough. So we chose the smaller downstairs bedroom. The backyard and porches were lovely and we were always able to find some shade to read and snooze after long walks in town or a day wandering the countryside.
A few more ice cube trays would be very helpful, especially during the spring/summer. The outlet/ightswitch in the downstairs bathroom doesn't allow a hairdryer to be plugged in. Perhaps reverse the outlet so the lightswitch is on the bottom and the outlet is on top would work. We have a 1929 home; and we appreciate all you've done to improve your lovely house.
Lovely setting for family fun!
We were drawn to Bend for a baseball tournament with our daughter and family, and were happy to be in such a lovely setting so close to all Bend has to offer. This cottage has it all!
Wonderful home in a perfect location
We had a great time staying here. The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very well supplied for making meals. The house was as described, no surprises. We would definitely stay here again if we were to come back to Bend. We were vacationing with our family. The fact that the playground was almost directly across the street was a huge hit as well as the fact that the back yard was fenced in. Drake Park was a very short walk and another nice place to spend time with our grandson. Being walking distance to some of the local breweries was another plus for some of the adults.
Incredible downtown location with Harmon and Drake Park across the street, pubs, restaurants, Newport Market, Bend festivals, and The Les Schwab Amphitheater a short walk/bike ride from the front door. The center of downtown Bend is a 5 minute walk. For families, the kids park is across the street and the downtown library is awesome..or walk over to Cuppa Yo for a great yogurt sundae.
