Awesome home and location
The property exceeded our expectations. The house comfortably accommodated everyone with room to spare. The layout was perfect with ample indoor and outdoor space. The kids, and adults enjoyed all the games in the basement and on the lawn. The view from the yard, and from the pier and dock were just amazing as well. The kyaks and paddle board were appreciated by everyone as well. The fire pit was just perfect and was the focal point once the sun started to set. In all it was really a perfect little piece of heaven that I would love to visit again.
As a bonus, and very well suited to the biology buffs in our family, was the phenomenal collection of fossils that were on display - an unexpected and awesome surprize.
Maine waterfront treasure.
Three generations of my extended family had a wonderful week on the water, in the water, and gazing at the water. We took a few excursions to nearby towns but mostly enjoyed the peace and quiet of Friendship and Wadsworth Point. Having access to the kayaks and paddle board was a major plus.
Wonderful house and property for extended families! Comfortable and inviting; a true gem!
Our big family really enjoyed staying at Baypoint Estate. Driving in to the property gave us a great feeling that we had made the right choice in our vacation stay!
We walked around the corner and discovered the breathtaking view... It was late afternoon and the sun was low in the sky, shining on the beautiful bay.
We explored the house and found it to be very comfortable. There are three bedrooms on the main floor and two upstairs, as well as a huge bunk area.
The bathrooms were large, very clean and well-organized. The only slight drawback we found, was that the upstairs floor did not include a bathroom.
The two cosy common areas were very comfortable and had a lot of seating for our large crew.
We enjoyed traveling to Rockland and Camden for outings, but found ourselves staying at Baypoint & enjoying the spacious lawn, and the kayaks and paddle board that were provided for our use.
A nice firepit area is just off of the lawn, with ample Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy a S'more!
The Howe family was great to work with, and answered our questions within a day's time.
We plan to return here next season. It was a magical time for our family. I highly recommend Baypoint for large families.
Great Winter Spot
Great place for a couple of families with lots of kids. The second floor upstairs "dorm" runs the full length of the house and any group of kids would absolutely love to claim it as their own.
The basement is stark cement and clean and houses a very nice pool table, ping pong table and a pin ball machine - thats it. The main floor is cosy with wonderful views. The three bedrooms are very nice and the kitchen area is very workable. The only issue was the online nightly price was raised once we attempted to book - they said holiday rates would apply. Granted we were renting over New Years but when one selects the calendar dates it should reflect the real price for those dates and it did not.
The home and grounds were perfect for our long weekend away with friends. We didn't want to leave!
Beautiful, peaceful, perfect location and house
We stayed at Baypoint Estate for two weeks in August. We were blown away by the beauty of the house and location. The Howe family really thought of everything, and this was by far the nicest, most well-stocked, well maintained rental house we have ever stayed in.
The location and view, the dock, the back yard, and the beautiful little forest walk leading to the dock were all breathtaking. We loved kayaking each day, swimming in the bay, and paddle boarding. Our kids enjoyed searching in the tide pools for crabs, fish, and snails. We brought our bikes, and had fun exploring the "neighborhood."
The location was remote, which we were a bit concerned about, but ended up loving. It was so peaceful, and we ended up never wanting to leave the property. On the days we convinced ourselves to leave, it was only about a 40 minute drive to Damariscotta, Rockland, and Camden. In the town of Friendship, there is a great little convenience store named Wallace's, a nice little community co-op, and an excellent place for lobster and crab rolls called Jameson's.
Sarah was so responsive and helpful whenever we had questions.
Our recent stay at Baypoint was the most peaceful, enjoyable, relaxing, and fun vacation we have had in years. We can't wait to visit again!
