This location was a perfect home base for our family trip. It was a nice central location between both SLC and Provo for the football games and sightseeing the family wanted to attend, while other family enjoyed the home's amenities like a movie upstairs, napping in the quiet surroundings, baking in the beautiful kitchen, playing at the nearby park and hours on the trampoline outside. We agree it is better than the pictures can capture and fell in love with this home! Lots of charm, history and great use of space. We wish we had at least a week to relax reading from the well-stocked bookshelves. Visitors with difficulty climbing stairs should be aware that the only access to the upstairs is a narrow spiral staircase as seen in the photos. A beautiful destination we hope to return to in the future!

Wonderful!

Ample sleeping space, very well equiped, beautifully appointed, VALUE, photos don't do it justice, ... are but a few of the superlative that describe the Madeline. I agree with the other commenters. We had a great time!

Some issues, but managers were great to work with

  • 4 of 5

The decor of the home is absolutely beautiful and compares to no other for this price. My family thought it was so quaint. They have the neatest little spaces to store things that are within the walls of the home- love the space saving design. They provide plenty of towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, etc.

When we first arrived, the grass needed to be mowed, so we contacted the manager and they had someone come over same day to mow it. Excellent customer service!

Later in the week, we were planning to use the grill but found that it was broken prior to cooking up our chicken; the managers were unable to replace the grill right away so we had to knock on a neighbor's house and asked them to let us use their grill. It was a little embarrassing; however we feel that if we had checked everything out the day we got there, then the managers would have been able to replace it in time for us to grill our food.

My point- there were some issues when we first arrived, so check everything out to make sure it all works on day 1. If you need to contact the property managers, they are excellent to work with, so they made up for the inconveniences that we experienced.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your fair review. We apologize for the grill error. It's hard anticipating every issue when not living in a home so it was a definite mistake. We have since replaced said grill so shouldn't be any more problems. Thanks again for staying with us and for your kind words

Even Better Than Expected

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely agree with the other reviewers who wrote that the photos do not do this home justice; and that the detail and quality of craftsmanship is evident throughout the home. The surrounding area and mountain views are spectacular. After just a few minutes, we felt very much at home.

We spent nearly every afternoon/evening at the nearby park (one of several within walking distance). Adding to the comfort of home, the owners provide absolutely everything you need and more, including tennis rackets and balls, bike, a large variety of board and card games, movies, etc.

The location was ideal as we spent our time between Provo and Salt Lake City. We definitely recommend a trip to the beautiful BYU campus and Temple Square.

We have stayed at several VRBO properties; this one is among the very best. We hope to return next time we are in Utah.

Fabulous, Charming Home

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed my stay at this charming house. It has easy access to the outdoors--the nearby American Fork canyon is gorgeous. I love the attention to detail in the home and the neighborhood is calm and quiet.

Simply Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The photos of this home are beautiful but do not do it justice. The attention to detail is amazing in the home’s construction. The craftsmanship is quality throughout. Furnishings are warm and stylish but durable so you get that "at home" atmosphere without the sense that you are invading someone's space. Our son loved sleeping in the loft! Everything you could imagine needing while away has been thought of and is available in the home. Communication with the manager of the property was great. Would highly recommend this property.
