Queen's Lake Haven's location makes it the perfect base for exploring the Smoky Mountains. It's in the heart of local Nantahala attractions, but Asheville, Gatlinburg, Maggie Valley, and Cherokee are all within a couple hours drive (or less).
The house is excellent for a couple's retreat, weekend with friends, or a family reunion. It sleeps up to 9 comfortably in 2 queen beds, a double bed with a twin bunk, and a futon. An additional queen sized air mattress is also available, which can sleep 2 more guests.
An easy(no 4 wheel drive required), beautiful drive despite the remote surroundings, Queen’s Lake Haven provides serenity while being close to local attractions.
We are avid hikers, and love the feeling of being lakeside. We have lived in North Carolina for 20 years after being assigned to this beautiful state while on active duty. Our travels all over the world can not compare to the Nantahala mountains. We try to return to Queen's Lake Haven as often as possible, but want to share the experience with others!
Jeannette Moore purchased this cabin in 2012
Our family was looking for a unique out-of-the way home, not just another cabin, when we discovered this beautiful secluded chalet, with easy access yet very private. Incredible lake views during the day and no neighbor's lights to hinder star gazing at night.
Three outside decks and views from every window make us feel we are in nature yet have all the comforts of a warm inviting home. The home has a distinctive architectural design like no other.
When we arrived we were taken back at what an awesome home we were going to be staying in. The lake was beautiful as well as the fall colors. They were breathtaking. Jeanette the owner could not have been more gracious and informative. This place comes highly recommended and will definately be going back.......
We had an amazing time at Queen's Lake Haven. The owner of this cabin was so helpful, nice and very pleasant to work with.
We had a total of 9 family members on our trip, aging from 4 to 56. No matter your age there is something for everyone to do while at this cabin. The house is secluded along with a wonderful lake to enjoy. This cabin has many decks to enjoy gorgeous views and the lake makes it even more perfect. The hot tub was very clean and we really enjoyed relaxing each night. Especially after a long day rafting in the river.
There are plenty of adventures to choose from only 15 to 30 minutes away from the cabin. (trails, rivers, creeks, parks, and waterfalls all while enjoying amazing views)
We enjoyed the Winding Stairs Road. It was our favorite part of our stay with amazing views. It was an adventure every time we left and returned. Don't worry there is another road for the less adventurous.
If you are looking for a sucluded cabin to enjoy, with great views and you don't want to travel too faraway for activities, then this is the perfect place.
We look forward to staying at this cabin again in the future.
Loved there house. It was way up the mountain, and right on the lake. Hit tub was great. Fireplaces in every bedroom. Good for a family vacation or a romantic retreat.
Our stay was a memorable one. The home was quietly tucked away in the mountains right across from a beautiful lake. When we arrived we weren't sure what to expect as the road to get there was pretty quiet. The home surprised us all. It was clean, modern, and very well kept. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The master suite is to die for. Definitely nice place to come back to after a long day of activities. The hot tub was wonderful for sore muscles and the kids loved chasing lightning bugs and making smores by the fire after dark. The kitchen was stocked and made good for many home cooked meals. Jeannette stayed in contact with us throughout our stay for any questions we had. I was very impressed. Thumbs up Jeanette! We're already working on plans for our next trip up!
The cabin had plenty of room for me and my family to stretch out and relax. The many decks gave everyone a chance for a bit of privacy. It also was very close to all the fun things to do in Nantahala - including rafting, hiking, sightseeing, and trout fishing. Even in the summer, the hot tub was welcomed at the end of a long day. We found the owner responsive to any issues we had with the cabin.
