Off the beaten path!

About Brad and Jahyme Vicic
After 2 years of construction we finally completed construction on our dream home in Mexico. We wanted to have a safe, private place to enjoy family and get away from it all. No phones ringing, no crowds, no traffic, just peace and quiet. We think we've succeeded!
Brad and Jahyme Vicic purchased this Villa in 2011
Why Brad and Jahyme Vicic chose Vinorama
If you are looking for something away from the crowds, this is it! The home is located on a mostly dirt road, 22 miles (about 50 minutes) from the airport. We have a restaurant/hotel about a mile down the road, they do offer some grocery items but a trip to the grocery store in San Jose is the best way to assure a comfortable stay. We also have the small town of Cabo Pulmo 14 miles or about 20 minutes to the North which has a few small restaurants. If you're a surfer, we have several incredible surf breaks with in minutes of the house. La Fortuna is approx. 7 miles south, Shipwrecks about 9 miles. If you want to relax in the water near the house, we have various water activity equipment available to use. snorkels, masks, fins, body boards, surf boards, etc... Veechvillas.com
What makes this Villa unique
Off the grid! This home is NOT located near any towns. To fully enjoy the home, a trip to the grocery store before leaving San Jose is a must. If you're looking for room service, this is NOT your place. We do have a TV and DVD player but do NOT have TV service, however we do have internet service and limited cell service. Our nightlife consists of a fire pit and the brightest stars you've ever seen! It is truly a place to enjoy family and friends and make special memories! Veechvillas.com

Tranquil Paradise on the Sea of Cortez
This was our second trip to this slice of paradise. Gorgeous villa well appointed and in impeccable shape right on the sands of the East Cape. This is old Cabo, a world away from the spring break crowd, yet but an hour from town. We went days without seeing another person and had a perfect and private beach miles long. There’s nothing better than sleeping to to sounds of crashing waves. The property is completely off grid but with the latest of systems, no modern conveniences are sacrificed. Good Wi-Fi, power and water systems deliver as though you’re in a modern city, and a spectacular pool fronting the Sea of Cortez. Truly a rarefied treasure to have the beauty of a remote and utterly private locale on the ocean with the convenience of the finest in modern villa living. I want one.
You will not be disappointed.
Family vacation to middle of nowhere beach - fantastic!
We just spent 7 days at this property with 8 adults and 2 young kids. What a unique location! This house is literally in the middle of nowhere (1.25 hr drive on dirt road to any grocery store, gas, etc; one small hotel/restaurant 5 min away). While we were first intimidated by the location, we grew to appreciate it. We had the entire beach/ocean to ourselves, silence around us, and an extreme sense of calm. Very limited distractions to draw family members away from the house made for good quality time connecting with one another. Our 2 minivans handled the roads fine.
BEACH - we were hoping to swim/surf right in front of the house, but unfortunately could not. This was a big disappointment for our crew. The current was too strong to go for a quick dip or play in the waves. Our surfers drove south to surf spots (La Fortuna, 9 Palms) and the swimmers/snorkelers/kids drove 20 min north to Villa los Frailes for a nice calm beach experience.
POOL/PATIO - the pool is amazing with an incredible view, and very child friendly with wide entry steps. Jumping from the hot tub to the pool was a highlight for the kids. You cannot heat the hot tub after 6pm, so that was unfortunate for after dinner festivities. The lack of outdoor shower meant there was far more sand in the pool and on the patio than necessary. There were lots of chaise lounges for relaxing and a nice shade structure so you could always find a bit of shade. The house needs a table/chairs on the patio for dining outside.
BEDROOMS/BATH - there were quite a few issues when we arrived some of which were remedied by the house manager. Master shower had no water. Master toilet didn't flush well. Other toilet ran constantly. No hot water to bathrooms on one side of house (never resolved). Broken and missing screens to bedrooms made for a BIG BUG problem at night. Kids got eaten alive. No space for hanging clothes in the rooms. No end tables in one of the rooms. Fans and AC made for comfortable night time temps.
KITCHEN - we had to request more plates, mugs, serving dishes, dining rooms chairs, etc as the house wasn't equipped for a group of our size who was constantly cooking.
LAUNDRY - VRBO listing said laundry was available, but it wasn't.
OFFGRID - we had no issues with water supply or electricity.
HIGHLIGHTS - starry nights, snorkeling with dolphins, turtles, sea lions, & schools of fish in Cabo Pulmo, pool playtime, beach walks, solitude!
Perfect hide out
Villa was a bit hard to find, but stay there was perfect. Best views, nice interior. Villa is actually for 8 persons, so if you are 10, 2 have to stay in not so nice room :) Anyway - highly recommended.
Wonderful and secluded
We had 13 of us that stayed at the villa. Three families with young kids and several adults.
The house and property are wonderful, the ocean view - amazing! We greatly enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins play from the pool. I think we of us would highly recommend this place as it really is a diamond in the rough. With that said please be advised the dirt roads are ROUGH. I saw a previous review that mention you might want a 4 wheel drive vehicle, but trust me you need one. Our little two wheel cars really took a beating (oops). Also, make sure you google earth the place and map directions closely prior to your arrival because it is literally in the middle of nowhere. Which, for our purposes, was awesome. Secondly the house runs on solar power with a backup generator. The power was fine unless you heated the hot tub after which expect to lose power in the early morning as it drains the batteries. Not a big deal, we just started the generator and were up and running again. The hotel close by had great food and were super welcoming. There are wonderful areas to scuba, snorkel and swim are close by, but really require a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to. Wynn the house manager was fantastic. He stopped by the house regularly to check on us. We couldn't have asked for a better host.
Great family getaway !
There were 12 of us (6 adults 6 kids -- kids all under age of 6) and loved the open house feel between house to pool/spa, as well as private beach. There's a great firepit for smores or a chilly night, as well as swim up bar for shade. Felt safe and it was a very easy vacation. Would highly HIGHLY recommend SUV rental for drive because it's a dirt road the entire way. Make sure you make a HUGE trip to grocery store ( La Comer down in San Jose Cabo is best) before driving out to house. Buy more beer and food than you think you'll use, otherwise you'll be making a second trip into town like we did, which isn't terrible but it's 2 hours round trip not counting shopping time. FYI - There is nothing for grocery items between airport/San Jose and the house for grocery items. 1 mile south of house is a small small hotel (Vidasoul) that does have a great restaurant but no real grocery items. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which was great. AC for nighttime use in each room and a ceiling fan. Off grid aspect was not an issue. Manager Wynn was great and checked on us each night. There are a few neighbors whom we met and were very friendly locals and non local owners. There is NO cellphone service at house, but there is internet and the wifi worked great and could stlll email and iMessage. If you're wanting remote/secluded away from city feel, this is it!
Thank you Elizabeth! We loved having you and hope you come back and see us again!
What an incredible house!!!
The house is amazing, the place is incredible and Wynn, the manager, is simply awesome!!! We were two families (10 in total) and were all happy as clams during our stay. The owner is great, the manager is awesome, and the house really gives you that incredible "off the grid" feeling, that you are the only ones in this incredible beach....you feel Baja is just for you!!!!
Thank you so much for staying with us Carlos! I am glad you had such a a nice stay, you are more than welcome to come back any time!!
