Why Claire M chose Nokomis
This location is convenient and centrally located to many attractions, such as Nokomis Public Beach (for the drum circle), Pop's Sunset Grille (a delightful waterfront dining experience- and one of my personal favorites), Cafe Evergreen (for the more healthy choices), and the Venice Theatre is only 2 miles away. Venice Avenue also is a pleasant place to take a stroll, browsing through the many shops, and possibly enjoying a slice of pizza or an ice cream cone at one of the many eateries afterward. The home is a quick 3.5 mile distance from I-75, affording vacationers the option of heading north to Sarasota to Siesta Key Public Beach or Siesta Key Village (approx. 28 minutes away), the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens (approx. 35 mins), and the John & Mable Ringling Museum (approx. 45 mins); or south to Warm Mineral Springs (25 mins) or Port Charlotte Town Center (approx. 35 mins). However, the home is nestled in the quiet community of Nokomis Village, and the completely fenced in yard, gives us a feeling of a cozy, private haven in which to relax.
What makes this House unique
When I was searching for a vacation home in Nokomis, the first thing I noticed about this one was the great privacy fence all around the property. Then, upon entering the foyer, there's an arched entry leading to the living area (I have a thing for arched entries.. :) Also, I happen to love the fresh color blue that the walls are painted, and the gleaming white tile floors just add to the fresh, clean, beach-y look I was hoping for! Another added plus is that I have family members living close by in the area, so all these factors made this particular house a "slam-dunk".

Very clean! We loved the floor plan of the home and the tile floors.
The home was located to a very nice bike and running trail. We loved eating on the patio. We would recommend this home to anyone traveling to Nokomis Florida. Claire was very prompt and has a high standard which made our stay enjoyable.
Thank you, Wendy! We appreciate your great review, and are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves. We like the screened-in patio also! It's a great way to enjoy coffee in the morning :)) ~Claire
Great house near Nikomis Beach
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beach house. It's a quick 5 minute drive to Nikomis public beach on Casey Key. The house location provided easy access to Nikomis Beach, nearby restaurants, and Venice Beach. The house has been nicely redone, tile floors throughout, a great screened-in lanai, and a one-car garage. The yard is completely fenced in giving you plenty of privacy. The owner has beach chairs and a beach umbrella for use. This house provided outstanding value. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again.
Ed, thank you very much for 5-stars and the great, detailed review! It was our pleasure to host your family, and we're so glad that you enjoyed yourselves. You are welcomed back anytime! ~Claire
Had a great time in Florida, the house was in a good location for our travels to visit friends
Ralph, thank you for booking with us this year. It was a pleasure to host your time away from "the frozen North". ~Claire
Mimi and I loved Claire's hospitality and the wonderful Florida weather and sunshine.
We have many retired friends in the Venice area so it was a treat to reconnect.
We enjoyed swimming, tennis and golf together. We took acting classes at the
Venice theater with Peter Ivanov and enloyed performances at VanWezel in Sarasota.
My daughters visited for a long weekend and enjoyed the beach and shark tooth hunting
on the Gulf.
Thank you, Mike & Mimi for the wonderful review! It truly was a pleasure to meet both of you, and it blessed Mike & I to witness how much you & Mimi enjoy LIFE !! You're welcomed back anytime :) ~Claire
Very nice quiet served our needs 😊
The only reason I don't give it a 5 is it would be helpful to have some arm bars in bathrooms. Otherwise it was great. Thank you!
Thank you for your review, Jodi. I'm sorry that you felt you should take away from our rating because there were no bars in the bath. I had written you several times before your reservation was finalized to let you know my home was not outfitted for someone in a wheelchair. My listing also states in the details, that it is not wheel-chair accessible.
Highly recommend. Great location. House had great accommodations

Property is located off of Colonia Lane in Nokomis, just north of Venice FL, and is very convenient to many attractions! We are minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and Nokomis and Venice beaches. There are free yoga classes on the beach every morning, shelling, paddle boarding, boating, fishing, scuba diving are also available.
The home is about 1/2 mile from Legacy Trail, hike & bike trail off of Colonia Ln.
Oscar Scherer State Park is about 7 minutes away by car, with walking trails, kayaking, and access to the "Rails and Trails" bike path. Spanish Point Historic Park is about 10 minutes by car, and is a wonderful old Florida homestead with acres of trails, museum, library, gardens, and boat tours.
Historic Downtown Venice has wonderful shopping and restaurants. Venice Community Theater, one of the largest in the country, is 5 minutes away as is the Venice Performing Arts Center. There are many public golf courses available.
Of course Sarasota is a 25 minute drive with world class theaters, orchestras, museums, theme parks, aquariums, and more. This is the "Cultural Coast" of Florida. Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium, Selby Gardens, Ringling Museum and more are great day trips less than 35 minutes from the house.
Shelling is great at Nokomis Beach near the Jetty. Hunt for Shark's teeth on Venice Beach south of 'Sharkey's", at Caspersen Beach.
Myakka State Forest has a guided boat tour for bird-watching and viewing alligators in the natural habitat.
There's so much more to do in this historic and cultural area, yet our home is nestled in a quiet, serene and privately fenced-in yard.
