About Wendy Canty
Hi, We're sisters Vanessa and Wendy. We grew up in Mystic and are now raising our own families in the area. Along with our mom, we are renovating Indigo Cottage as a place for our extended family to stay when visiting and a future retirement home for our grandmother. We hope you find the house as comfortable as we do - let us know what you think!

Home away from home in mystic
This house was extremely comfortable and the owners thought of everything to ensure we felt comfortable and taken care of during our stay. Excellent location, child-friendly, great communication ! Wonderful family reunion for us!
We had a great time at our 2 week stay at Indigo Cottage. An old home (circa 1900) with good bones, and renovations with modern conveniences. The location was perfect, as it was less than one mile to the drawbridge and all of what downtown has to offer. Also a quick walk to Williams beach. Wendy was easy to communicate with. I would recommend and also stay again.
The house was very cute and exactly what we needed for a night in Mystic! Wendy was very helpful and super responsive.
We were in Mystic for our sons graduation and at one point had 11 people staying in the house. The house had adequate space for our large group. We enjoyed the outdoor space and even used the fire pit. The house was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Wendy and Vanessa couldn't have been more accommodating. Lastly, the location was perfect and a short walk to downtown.
We had a great time and the house was perfect!!
Charming and Cozy Mystic
This is the best house that I’ve rented! The house itself is very clean, cozy, spacious and beautifully decorated. The house is located in a great location, convenient to downtown Mystic and Stonington. It was perfect for our annual weekend girls getaway. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. We hope to rent again next year. The pictures do not capture the charm and spaciousness of this cottage.
Whether traveling solo or in a group as large as ten, Indigo Cottage is sure to be your fit. Arriving by train (Mystic depot is less than 1/2 mile) or by car (parking for 3 cars plus curbside spaces) you will find us steps from the delicious Mediterranean eatery Mezze, award-winning Indian restaurant A Taste of India and less than one block from the eatery, café and market Mystic Market East. Supplies from the nearest supermarket (Big Y) are less than 1/2 mile away. Walk into downtown Mystic to be transported back in time to a classic New England main street where two Mystics are joined by the famous bascule bridge (0.8 mi). Enjoy the numerous shops and restaurants (Harbour House, M bar, Red 36, Engine Room, Oyster Club, Bravo Bravo to name a few) in downtown, or head up route 27 to visit the Mystic Seaport and the Mystic Aquarium. Beside the Aquarium is the Olde Mystick Village which houses over 30 unique shops, restaurants, and bars. The Cinema there has been outfitted with super comfy lounge seats and offers real homemade popcorn, beer and wine to accompany your film. A trip to Mystic isn't complete without visiting our many vineyards and wineries (Jonathan Edward's, Stonington Vineyards, and Saltwater Farm Vineyard). Be sure to get out on the water, either by taking a river tour (the Seaport's Sabino), a motorized sunset tour (Mystic River Cruises), renting a Kayak or paddle board (Paddle Mystic), or taking a sail on Fishers Island Sound aboard the Argia (theArgiaMystic), Mystic has so much more to see by water. Since you're being active, explore the beauty of Mystic's River Road or get physical at Mystic's own tree climb adventure & paintball park (Fields of Fire Mystic). Have more than a few days? Stay around to check out other area attractions such as Westerly's famous beaches (15 min drive), the nightlife, concerts and restaurants of the Casinos (Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun approx 15 min drive), one of National Geographic's top-rated beaches (Ocean Beach Park), the stately mansion and grounds of Harkness Park, Waterford, and of course the area's own Jurassic Park, the Dinosaur Place at Nature's Art. And if less than usual adventures are more up your alley, Mystic now boasts ghost tours (seaside shadows) and an escape room (Mystified escape room). We like to think we are a bit spoiled for choice in Mystic and if the weather doesn't quite cooperate don't let that slow you down! One of our favorite spots is the Mashantucket Pequot Museum where you can spend the day learning about our area before it was "Mystic Coast and Country." What better base to launch your adventures than Indigo Cottage? Set off refreshed and return to relax, Indigo Cottage will match you in comfort what Mystic offers in action.
