About Owner/Manager

My grown daughter, son and family, and me use the condo for our skiing base. We visit often and inspect the condo for for any issues to maintain and keep it clean as well as we can.

Owner/Manager purchased this condo in 2006

Why Owner/Manager chose Silverthorne

We love the condo for it's spectacular views and convenience to four world-class ski areas as well as Vail (30 minutes away). The town of Silverthorne has all the amenities of any ski town including outlet mall shopping. We contract the most expensive but best cleaning company on the mountain.

What makes this condo unique

We believe the condo provides great value for the price. The amenities would satisfy any family and enhance your vacation experience.

Great Views / Comfortable Condo

  • 3 of 5

The location was great as it was close to ski areas, dining and shopping. The condo was reasonably priced for a two bedroom. We enjoyed our stay.

THE GOOD - The living room was decent size and there was plenty of seating for the five of us. There was a nice flat screen television in the living room. WIFI was available and the password was provided. Firewood was provided and there was ample parking. The unit was relatively clean.

THE NOT SO GOOD - The bed in the master was pretty uncomfortable and had a "dip" in the middle of the mattress. Pillows in both bedrooms need to be replaced as they are flat as a pancake. The kitchen could use a "good cleaning" and the pots and pans need replaced. We wanted to use a baking dish / cookie sheet to bake some chicken breasts but the pans were black and were disgusting. I ended up using foil over the pan and that worked. If the kitchen was "restocked" with new pots and pans and perhaps some extras like a crock pot for soups I would of given this a 4 star rating.

Owner's Response: The mattress and pillows are to be replaced this Spring. Some pots and pans are new but others may be replaced too.

Good value for area

  • 4 of 5

We rented this place for a ski weekend - 4 guys in their late 30's looking for a relaxing weekend. Let me preface this review by first stating that this was the least expensive option we had in the area, and given that, the place was great and deserving of a good review. With that being said, potential renters should know:

- There is ample room, and the kitchen is decent-sized. Old (but relatively clean) refrigerator and dishwasher, but the stove/oven was newer and worked well.

- There is ample parking, and the path up to the unit was well-kept.

- The deck was nice, and the views from the unit's windows are as good as advertised.

- We enjoyed the wood fireplace, which isn't very common in rentals.

- The place was sufficiently, but not spectacularly, clean.

- The location was solid, as half of us skied at Keystone and the other half at Copper... this was nicely in between.

- The communication with the owner (directions, entry, etc) was excellent.

- The clubhouse (about 300 yards down the road) had two hot tubs, a pool, ping pong table... we only used the hot tubs, but it seemed like it would be a great place for kids to hang out.

- The beds were pretty uncomfortable, even for a bunch of guys who aren't too picky. The bedding and furniture were all pretty worn (though the towels were new and clean)

- The TV in the main room and other electronics are fairly old... they all work, and we were able to play a DVD we brought up, but be aware that they are older and the sound isn't very good.

- Not sure exactly what it was, but the hot tub in the clubhouse left all of us with irritated skin... might have been just too much chlorine or something. We went the first night, but nobody else wanted to go the second night.

- The flue for the fireplace is locked open, so the fireplace doesn't really provide much heat to the unit. That being said, I completely understand locking it open in a rental, and we didn't find the unit cold... just FYI for future renters.

Beautiful area - condo needs updating

  • 2 of 5

The location was fantastic. Close to ski areas and town of Silverthorne had lots of shopping areas. The condo is in definite need of some updating - especially the kitchen. The dishes were pretty disgusting and cooking in Teflon pans that are all scratched and peeling is a health risk! The linen in the bedrooms was also questionable - the bedding was rather dated and not sure of the cleanliness - we found blood on the bedspread. Gross!!!!! With a little updating, this would be a great place to stay.

Owner's Response: We take our guests comments very seriously and make adjustments accordingly. Keep in mind this is the end of ski season and my condo is has been mostly reserved all season due to its wonderful views, fantastic location, and value pricing. After the ski season is over we will address these concerns and make updates.

Great place at a reasonable price

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time with my family up at this Condo. It's not a five-star condo but it is a strong four. If they update the place a little it becomes a five star. I do have to give it a five-star rating for the price value though. Well worth the price. We really loved the extra amenities at the club house and I would definitely recommend this place as a great get away.

Within 20 minutes of four world-class ski areas and 30 minutes to Vail. There are many biking trails (paved and unpaved) National forest hiking trails are adjacent to unit building. Dozens of outlet stores are located in Silverthorne for shopping convenience. Wonderful mountain views from living/great room. Less expensive housing for 2015 World Skiing Championships in Vail during February.
