Prescott weather is hard to beat: more than 300 days of annual sunshine, but also four distinct seasons, thanks to the town's elevation at 5,400 feet. The historic elm-shaded Court House Plaza has a cascade of art shows, film festivals, craft fairs, and outdoor concerts. Downtown Prescott is filled with boutiques, open-air bistros and Victorian–era buildings.

If your interests are culture, tradition and history, there are many gems in Prescott including the Sharlot Hall Museum, Prescott Fine Arts Museum, Phippen Museum, Smoki Museum, Heritage Park Zoo an the Highland Center for Natural History. Combined with the over 500 buildings and homes on the National Register of Historic Buildings, there's plenty of history and culture venues to be found in Prescott, Arizona.

Prescott is nestled in the heart of the Prescott National Forest. This is cool, refreshing pine tree country with scenic crystal clear mountain lakes. These include Lynx Lake, Goldwater Lake, Watson Lake, Granite Basins Lake and the Willow Creek Reservoir. Spring brings meadows of wildflowers and summer features high temperatures that rarely reach 90 degrees. With the arrival of autumn, the creek bottoms explode in fall color and when winter arrives, expect the beauty of fresh fallen snow to cover the landscape. Wildlife is abundant in the area including deer and herds of Pronghorn Antelope hangout in the grassy foothills just east of Prescott.

Thumb Butte is a pinion-covered out-cropping that overlooks the former cowboy town. There are 650 miles of trails in the adjacent 1.25-million-acre Prescott National Forest that is perfect for hiking, biking and fishing. You'll find easy hiking trails along the lakes and more adventuresome hiking trails deeper into the Prescott National Forest

Prescott is less than 3 hours from The Grand Canyon! You can take a quick day trip by car and enjoy all that the South Rim has to offer, or you can book a shuttle, jeep tours, or even take a helicopter ride looking over the amazing canyon views down to the Colorado River. Grand Canyon National Park has many opportunities for a fun time with your family! Other day trips can easily be made to Sedona, Jerome, Flagstaff and Phoenix.

A perfect place to stay! Private, cozy and clean.

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect place for my husband and I to stay while looking for a home to purchase. It was clean with plenty of towels and pots and pans for cooking. It has a dining table in the living room which was ideal for me to sit with my laptop and look at homes while my husband watched tv. Also, the master is down the hall from the living room so with the door closed he could do his thing in the morning and not disturb me while sleeping. There is another bedroom with two more beds that we did not need or use. The beds in the master are very comfortable. I would defiantly stay here again and recommend it to anybody. Robert is great to work with and very accommodating.

Comfortable Home and Good Location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house the last week of February and first week of March while visiting Prescott and the surrounding area. The house was clean, comfortable and very quiet; the master bedroom was large with comfortable beds. It is set in a quiet residential neighborhood. Robert was very helpful in answering our questions and meeting our needs. There is not an ironing board/iron in the room, but he brought them down for us to use. There are many stores and restaurants without having to travel very far. The hiking is fantastic; there are a lot of places to explore and the location of the house makes a great base to do so.

Comfortable and clean

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent two weeks here and found the place to be very clean and comfortable. It was in a quiet neighborhood but close to stores and other attractions. Robert was very helpful with his knowledge of the area. There were no laundry facilities nor ironing board which I hadn't noticed that when booking but those are the only drawbacks to this delightful place. We loved the area.

Great property, property manager most helpful

  • 5 of 5

We were welcomed by Robert, who manages the property, and he was extremely helpful and welcoming. The house had everything we needed and given that the price was comparable to a hotel, it was far more comfortable and private. I was in a quiet neighborhood, and very close to any kind of retail business you would need. One item tht was very important to both my wife and I were the beds. They were some of the better beds we have slept in during the past several years, as we both have back problems, and these beds were very accomodating. If you don't kno your way around Prescott, I highly recommend downloading an app to your smartphone call "Around Me". It has categories that allow you to find any type of business or service you need, and provides maps and driving directions that are extremely accurate. It made driving around the city very easy. Thanks to the Litts for a wonderful escape from the heat and a fun visit.

My firsty VRBO rental but will not be my last! Nice location

  • 5 of 5

This was a birthday vacation for me as well and I decided to try something different than the conventional hotel. This home was clean and well supplied with dishes and cooking utensils which allowed our family of four to prepare several of our meals. Fry's, Safeway and Walmart are available in Prescott for groceries. We used this home as a base from which to explore Prescott, hike Watson lake, fish and canoe Goldwater and Lynx lakes. The town of Sedona was a ninety minute drive from the home, the Grand Canyon about 2.5 hours. There are many sites to see and things to do in the area which I could not fit in the four days that we stayed. Robert who manages the home was very helpful and friendly. Maybe in our next visit I can convince my daughters to get their western photos take in Robert's store.

World's Oldest Rodeo

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely fantastic time in Prescott. Very enjoyable and patriotic time over the 4th of July that included a fun parade. The people in Prescott were all very friendly and helpful in answering questions. Many activities to do. Spent much time hiking, horseback riding, sight seeing, and eating at the nice restaurants in town. The rodeo was a blast. Robert was also fantastic and helpful. Very clean and quiet.
