Just minutes from bustling downtown Sandpoint, our cabin offers a quiet retreat with spectacular views of the lake and mountains. Whether you spend your days exploring all 111 miles of Lake Pend Oreille's shoreline or skiing the 92 runs on Schweitzer Mountain, you’ll come home to picturesque comfort.
The cabin is located on a quiet road at the south end of the 2-mile Long Bridge that crosses the lake and takes you into Sandpoint. In town, you will find a wide variety of restaurants, art galleries, wine bars, and shopping. During the summer months, you can pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade bread and treats, and a great selection of locally made crafts at our Farmers’ Market. Bring your bikes and hop on the bike trail at the end of the road to connect with hundreds of miles of road and mountain bike trails. During the winter, Schweitzer Mountain is an easy 12-mile drive away.
There is always something fun going on in town, but if you just want to kick back and relax, the cabin has a big deck on the lakeside for lounging and enjoying the view. You’ll see osprey, bald eagles, quail and a great variety of waterfowl. Our private dock is perfect for fishing and sunbathing. There is a kayak and rowboat available for exploring Fry Creek and the lake. We provide a gas grill for outdoor cooking and a small fire pit for toasting marshmallows or just enjoying an evening campfire.
The cabin has two bedrooms. The larger bedroom has a queen bed and private full bath. The smaller bedroom has a twin bed and private half bath.
The kitchen has everything you need to create your own meals, or visit one of the three restaurants within walking distance of the cabin.
Come explore all that our area has to offer, and then relax in cozy comfort.

About Jon Hagadone
Our Dad's family moved to Sandpoint in 1919 when he was 4 years old, and Mom's family arrived in 1924 when she was just 2 years old. Mom and Dad were married in 1939 and built their first home in Sandpoint on St. Clair Ave. They continued to live there until retirement from the family business in 1973. All three of us children grew up in Sandpoint where we enjoyed the best childhood anyone could wish for in a clean, safe, friendly community with all the recreational opportunities this area had to offer. As adults, we have all returned to this paradise in Bonner County to raise our families.
Jon Hagadone purchased this Cabin in 1968
Why Jon Hagadone chose Sagle
Our parents purchased the cabin in 1968 as their retirement dream home from a long-time family friend, J.R. Adam. Mr. Adam bought the waterfront lots and built the original cabin in 1912 for his family's summer retreat. J.R. Adam was also the first owner of the Economy Grocery and that building still stands on the corner of Pine St. and Second Ave. in Sandpoint. Our mother spent many happy summers on this property as a young girl with her family, so it was a natural for our parents to eventually become the owners of this beautiful lake retreat. The cabin was quite simple in design in the beginning, so Dad, with help from family and friends spent 4-5 years remodeling the old cabin into a comfortable home. He added the half bath and another bedroom and reinvented the kitchen, as well building a large deck and the present dock. Our parents have both passed away now so we have decided to share our special place with others and let you experience all that we have enjoyed these many years. Five generations of our family have enjoyed countless happy times at this cabin. We have been a part of this community for many years and hope to be here for years to come. We take deep pride in where we live and enjoy meeting new people who visit our town. We're pleased to be able to share the charm of our cabin and the experience of our wonderful community with others.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is a short distance from Sandpoint, whether you choose to drive the 2 miles, ride your bike, boat or walk and the scenery is beautiful no matter how you get there. The views from the deck, beach and dock are abundant and the cabin is quite cozy with it's gas stove in winter and the cool breezes in summer.

the cabin was comfortable and it had every thing we need it.
Felt like home, but a beautiful view of the lake and mts. Very relaxing.
Clean, retro cabin with everything you need.
Our favorite place to stay in Sandpoint!
This is our third time to stay at this place and it is our favorite! We celebrated our 35th anniversary here. The location is perfect and the view of the lake and mountains can't be beat. It is clean, cozy and comfortable. We will be back!
Lovely little cabin
This is a lovely place to stay, with very pretty views of the lake and a nice beach/dock. Easy to get to and very convenient to Sandpoint.
What a great place! Perfect cabin charm with a fantastic view of the lake. Enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, boating and beautiful weather. Only one negative to report was the trains blowing their horns, unfortunate, but quickly forgotten as the week went by. Thanks to Jon and his family for allowing us to use the property.
Hi Maria and thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and yes there are a lot of trains traveling across the bridge. We wish they didn't have to blow their horns at every crossing, but it's the law, so I guess we have to put up with it.
Feels like you're staying at a family cabin
This was our second stay and we really find the home comfortable and welcoming. It feels like staying at the cabin your grandparents built. Lovely view, nice dock, quiet area. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out, riding our bikes across the long bridge into Sandpoint, and having a campfire on the little private beach. We'll definitely be back!
Please note our cabin is located on a dead end dirt road and we have year round resident neighbors who would appreciate your attention to the dust from your vehicles. So we request you drive between 10-15 mph. Thank you.
