Why Edna Conway chose Marfa
Marfa is difficult to describe you just have to come here. My mother was born in this sleepy town and my grandmother was born in nearby was what brought us here in the first place. After a couple of visits to Marfa we were hooked. When we purchased our house it was only a shell - roof and framing. My husband and I proceeded to finish building this home over the course of a year with all of the comforts and amenities we enjoy and hope you enjoy will as well. It has a large covered patio with a gas grill and seating to accommodate your family and guests. It features a large backyard with a steel fire pit, and a wood burning chiminea, we keep adding to it and consider it a work in progress. Set in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from the famed Chinati Foundation. We have never met a stranger and the art scene is world class. Some of the best artists in the country have installations here. The town is super safe and you can walk or bike anywhere. If you're lucky you may get to see the illusive Marfa lights! Ft Davis is less than 30 minutes away and provides a complete change of scenery featuring the McDonald Observatory. 30 minutes in the other direction is the town of Alpine with a totally different artistic scene and it's home to Sul Ross University. The whole area is one of Texas' best kept secrets.

Great time in Marfa!
Our party of two couples, one with a 14 month old, stayed here for a few days in July. We enjoyed the spacious living areas and especially the covered patio, spending a lot of time there relaxing. The beds (at least ours, I didn't try the other) were very comfortable and we enjoyed the well stocked kitchen. We would happily say at this vrbo again and appreciate the owners hospitality and communication.
Caitlin and her guests were great to host. Welcome to stay at our home anytime. Took great care of Our House!
Perfectly comfortable and appointed
"Our House" was a perfect home base for our 2 day stay in Marfa. It was too short of a time (or we had too much on our itinerary) to use the home's many amenities, but what we did use worked well! We appreciated the local coffee beans in the freezer (were those for us??) so we could have some java at home. Centrally located near some great restaurants and the grocery store, we enjoyed the short walk to downtown too.
Clean and comfortable perfect for families
Edna is a great hostess. She truly takes care of all your needs. The location is great and within walking distance of any part of town.
DeeDee and her family were excellent guests. They treated Our House like their home and we appreciated that. Followed house rules and were very tidy. They are welcome back anytime!
Christmas in marfa, very relaxing
House was very well appointed
Really clean, nice, large space. Great place to relax with friends.
I loved this property. It was very new and clean. The beds were comfortable and there were enough towels for double the amount of people. The downstairs common area was a great space to hang out with a HUGE kitchen. Edna was very easy to reach and always quick to respond.I would definitely stay here again.
Sparkling clean and new
The house appears brand new. In fact a few bits of molding and such still needed to be applied. Everything was super clean. Kitchen was fab and fits a large group, as does the living area. The house is about 1/2 mile from the main intersection so easily walkable for able folks. Food Shark was right there. So bummed they were not open Sat. night but I've heard it's a must in Marfa. We appreciated extra touches like coffee and a few snacks in the kitchen, toiletries and tissues in the bathroom, a binder with house info and suggestions of places to see in Marfa.
The two bedrooms are upstairs. One bath is upstairs and one is down. We went with another couple and compromised by giving our friends with the queen bed the upstairs bath and we with the king took the downstairs. We only had two small issues. One was that the downstairs bath is right off the kitchen and has a barn door that is not quite wide enough so there's a gap to see in from the living area. This could be fixed with a drape hung inside the door. Our other request we might have made is to use less scent everywhere, like with laundry soaps, toiletries and air fresheners.
We loved it and would stay again.
