Amazing winter vaca house
The house was amazing in every aspect. Full Bathrooms in every bedroom, and half bathroom off the living room. Great house for bigger groups. The way the house was designed is amazing, from the layout to the finishes. Hot tub was top not, big enough for 6 people. View from the hot tub / deck was unreal. Would definitely stay at this house again.
Thank you so much for your review of the house and we're very happy that you enjoyed your stay!
Lovely house for a multi family ski trip
This was a great house for our 3 families for a long weekend ski trip. Spacious and lots of full bathrooms which is great! Loved the hot tub and great kitchen layout with nice modern appliances (and we are big cooks!) Beds very comfy. Downstairs room with 2 sets of bunk beds were perfect for all the kids! HOWEVER, no window treatments /shades/curtains in ANY bedroom which is really not appropriate. Would really encourage the owners to get some curtains otherwise, you are up with the sunrise b/c the windows are big and let in lots of light. The property manager was very responsive when we requested more firewood and this was greatly appreciated. They also allowed us a late check out which was kind!, considering our ski conditions were not great and we spent a lot more time in the house than we initially planned. The fire place was great but we had to crack a window in order to vent it properly which made it drafty. However it was worth it for the lovely fire!
The walkway to the house was not well shoveled and very ice and dangerous. It would be nice to have this better shoveled for safety reasons.
Finally, the door to go out to the hot tub is not seated properly and doesn't stay closed unless it's dead bolted from the INSIDE which made it challenging to get in and out of the house to enjoy the hot tub. One of our group members slipped coming out of the hot tub and it's very slippery so a mat near the hot tub would also ensure better safety.
All in all, we really enjoyed this house and all of it's amenities and would consider staying again next year, however we would love it if the owners could fix some of the issues mentioned above. We are still really glad we stayed here and had a great weekend!
Cozy and spacious, near Sunday River
We stayed in this house for one week in mid-March 2017. The week included a major blizzard that shut down much of the Northeast. Throughout the week, including during the storm, the house was cozy -- the living space includes an impressive stone fireplace and the bedrooms kept everyone warm. It was also spacious -- an open floor plan connects the living room, dining room, and kitchen on the main floor, and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Some highlights include the fourth bedroom, which has one double- and three twin-size bunk beds with thick, comfortable mattresses. Your kids -- including teenaged kids who may hate being relegated to bunk beds -- will sleep well. The house, while large and modern, is built in the style of a log cabin, and the interior walls in particular are beautiful. The house is also 15 minutes away from Sunday River, so skiing is convenient.
