This luxury condo has one of the best locations in Kaanapali. It is beautifully and professionally designed to help you relax and enjoy your Maui vacation. It is the perfect vacation choice for a romantic escape. We love coming for the relaxation, ocean sounds, and superb snorkeling at four nearby sites (Honolua Bay, Black Rock, Napili Bay, and Kapalua Bay), not to mention the warm people and beautiful views.

Sunsets are spectacular from the Lanai you can see miles of open uncrowded beach in which to snorkel the pristine coral reefs. The view from your Lanai includes a spectacular show of humpback whales from December through March. The sites are ever-changing - with sailboats, cruise ships, snorkelers, sea turtles, and sunbathers. Across the ocean lies the islands of Molokai and Lanai, where sunsets are glorious to behold from the comfort of your private lanai.

The Mahana resort is located at the northern end of golden Kaanapali Beach, considered one of the world's best, warmed by the Maui sun and overlooking the islands of Lanai and Molokai.

A very short walk is a shopping center including Times supermarket, the 'Best Coffee in Maui' cafe, Pizza Paradiso, Subway, a video/DVD rental store, Soup Nutz's superb fresh soups.

great property - steps to the beach

  • 5 of 5

This was the 4th time at this unit. It is great- comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen and soft towels. What more could you ask for!

Of course there are the whales and the surfers and the warm weather and lots of sunshine.

The property is a short walk to the supermarket and a short ride to lots of restaurants.

and of course- there is the whole island within easy reach.

The owner has always been quick to fix a problem.

We will be back next year.

Great home base for the wonderful time we had in Ka'anapali

  • 5 of 5

The condo unit was bright, clean, well maintained, and had all the things we needed to enjoys our week's stay. We enjoyed being able to sit out on the ground level patio in comfortable furniture. We also used the 2 shared outdoor BBQ locations which were kept very clean.

We used VIP Transportation to shuttle us from the airport to the condo. (If you use such as service make sure they drop you at the Ashton Mahana, because we were dropped two places away and had to walk.) We were able to walk around the immediate area just fine - e.g., to the beach, local grocery store, and nearby restaurants. We also used the bus (buy all day tickets for $4 person) to check out Lahaina and Haleakala Crater. We didn't need a rental car.

I really enjoyed Ka'anapali beach. It is generally narrow but very long. From the Manaha it stretches 1-2 km down to Black Rock and then continues on the other side. It is mostly nice sand although there are some worn corral bits. It is good for beach small wave play. The snorkelling was OK, but not great along most of the beach. It was best about halfway towards Black Rock (near the last building in the Weston complex). And at Black Rock itself, I did see some large sea turtles. My first and best sighting was when I swam around the point, slightly into the mouth of a small creek outlet. A large dark form came towards me out of the temperature and shadow wavy water - and I was glad to discover that it was a large sea turtle. I also did a day public bus trip to snorkel at Haleakala Crater - which I enjoyed. I started early so beat the crowds. The scenery is awesome. The snorkelling was quite good. It would likely have been better if the tide wasn't so low. I saw lots of fish, but no turtles or dolphins.

I also made a couple of bus day trips to Lahaina, once with my wife to check out the town (Banyan Tree Park, old courthouse musuem, harbour, etc.). (You can access many different boat activities from the harbour.) On my second trip I rented a big learner's surf board from a shop right near Banyan Tree Park, carried it over to the end of the harbour, and tried to catch some waves. I managed to stay standing on the board for a few good rides - and had lots of fun tiring myself out. There were lots of others of all ages doing the same, since the waves are quite tame there, and the water shallow.

The condo unit we stayed in provided a great home base for the wonderful time we had in the Ka'anapali area.

Beautiful condo, perfect location!

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful family vacation. Alicia was gracious and prompt with our reservation communication. The condo was lovely with great access to local points of interest. Special thanks for all the added ammenities, such as boogie boards and snorkel equipment. We didn't know an umbrella was available and purchased one at Costco on the way in. We left it for the owners and any future renters.

Thank you once again for sharing your beautiful condo.

Location, Location, Location

  • 5 of 5

Our flight arrived on Maui late at night, but from the first moment we opened the condo's sliding door and heard the ocean waves and wind rustling through the fronds of the numerous coconut palms and saw the moon reflecting across the sea, a sense of serenity washed over us and I'm happy to say has stayed with us now that we are back home in California.

The location of this unit is everything. Mahana appears to be the only condo community that is situated mere steps from the beach. It really is like the ocean is in your own private backyard. Day or night you have ability to walk off the lanai onto the soft grass and peer onto the beach anytime you wish (without having to take an elevator ride or walk through a lobby). During our stay in early Sept, the complex had plenty of guests but the atmosphere was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed many meals on the lanai while watching spectacular sunsets.

As for the interior of the unit, the bed is very comfortable and the owner has thoughtfully provided 3 different pillow types (foam, firm, soft etc) to choose from in the closet along with extra linens. Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards and a beach umbrella are also provided. The kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need to cook a nice meal, including new high quality refrigerator and dishwasher. Having a laundry unit inside was ideal - we were able to pack less (more room for souvenirs!) and wash our clothes during the trip.

We appreciated how comfortable the furniture on the lanai was, allowing us to relax for hours while enjoying the amazing views.

The Mahana complex is conveniently located whether you wish to go to Lahaina or to many of the calm bays for snorkeling such as Napili or Kapalua (our favorite). Everything is close - within a 10-15 minute drive! Parking is also close to the unit and plentiful. If you don't want to drive for a meal, Dukes is good option and is only 4 minute walk away.

This was our first trip to Maui (after visiting Ohau and Kauii) and staying in the oceanfront unit at the Mahana was truly a luxury. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon!
