This 1850 sq. ft. golf-course retreat (2BR, 2½ baths) with private pool has everything you need for an exceptional stay in Sun City West. Enjoy one of the best views along the golf course!

The home's serene landscape seen from most every window matches the beauty of the well appointed Southwest interior. This open, contemporary home has 10’ ceilings and a feeling of spaciousness.

The light-filled living room is open to a dining area and office. Enjoy our 50-inch flat screen TV or a good book on the sofa. A fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counter top makes meal preparation a delight. The kitchen adjoins a comfortable Arizona room where you can relax in lounge chairs and watch HDTV or gaze outside the bay window from the kitchen table. The master has a king bed with pillow-top mattress and the second bedroom has a queen-size bed. Off of each bedroom is a private bath. The master bath is appointed with glass sinks and waterfall faucets and a snail-designed shower with massage jets; the second bath has a traditional full-size tub. There is a washer/dryer and cleaning supplies in the laundry room. The double-car garage with remotes is available for your use.

Sunsets are particularly stunning. Enjoy lounging poolside in the privately fenced back yard. Watch the ducks on the pond and the golfers on the green (or in the sand trap). You even have a distant view of the White Tank Mountains. Grill burgers on the gas BBQ and enjoy a meal under the covered patio.

My husband and I live in Durango, CO. We purchased this property as a retreat from the winter temps and snow. However, because skiing is still top on our list, we found we are not yet using our home as often as we anticipated. So we decided to share our home with you.

What makes this house unique

We furnished our lovely home for ourselves, so you will find everything you'll need for a comfortable, 'feel-at-home' stay. The kitchen appliances are new and include a 5-burner gas range and built-in micro range oven. The home also features a water softener. Additional space is available for your use in the third garage, but we owners are using some of that area for storage.

Notes:
The house is conveniently located near the intersection of R. H. Johnson and Grand Avenue, so shopping, restaurants, and banking are readily available. You can also see (and hear) the tops of trains as they pass beyond the pond, the putting green, and the golf course wall. Should you be interested in the pool heating option, you will be charged a $60 turn-on/turn-off fee (as assessed by our pool service) and gas usage ($110-$120/week). You pay what we pay, no more.

Home away from home.

This was our third stay here and we are scheduled to return in April. The property is well maintained and the home is comfortable and provides any amenity needed. Close to shopping and outside activities. Sunsets are incredible.

The best property that we’ve had in five years of renting winter homes.

The home is as advertised! Emily was wonderful and ready to accommodate wherever possible. Our only regret is the home is already booked for several years to come so we’ll have to miss the pleasure of staying here.

Our Third Stay

Beautiful home, well equipped kitchen, great patio setting overlooking a pond and golf course. Owners are responsive and eager to please. This was our third stay and we plan to return.

Pleasant memories ruined

This is a very nice house. The photos and description are accurate. The kitchen is up to date and well-equipped. The view across the pond and golf course to the mountains beyond is beautiful. The owners were very nice to work with while we were there. We would have given it a 5-star rating, but our experience at the end of our stay prevented that, and destroyed memories of an otherwise wonderful two weeks. A dishonest housekeeper presented the owners with an outrageously false description of the condition in which we left the house, even stating that we were there an hour after the required checkout time and accusing us of returning after she had cleaned -- impossible because we had to turn in our rental car at the airport, negotiate holiday crowds in the terminal, and be at the gate at 12:05 p.m. to board our flight home. A letter to the owners refuting her claims and describing in detail he condition in which we left the house, and offering to provide a copy of our reservation in order to verify our flight time, was ignored. A check of the VRBO website suggests that the house was not rented that night, December 31 -- an excellent opportunity for a New Year's Eve party? Conditions the housekeeper described would fit that possibility. The owners chose to believe the housekeeper and deducted $70 from our "refundable" damage deposit in addition to our cleaning fee. We have rented a number of houses through VRBO, Homeaway, and other sources. We have never encountered a problem.

Lesson learned: If you feel compelled to rent this house (or any vacation property) deal with the owner on a "well-defined" basis which should include walk-throughs with the owner's rep. both upon arrival and departure. $70, not significant; pride and reputation to this 78 year-old midwestern couple, priceless.

Owner's Response: This is the first time in our 5-year rental history that any amount has been withheld from a tenant's damage/cleaning deposit. Our long-time housekeeper spent an extra 1 1/2 hours cleaning immediately after the tenants' departure.

Sun City West is an active 55-plus community. There are 7 golf courses and 4 recreation centers within S.C.W. A variety of activities are offered, including swimming, tennis, fitness centers, pickle ball, bowling, billiards, hobby clubs, and much more. A tenant membership fee of $70 per person per month allows full use of all S.C.W. recreation centers. The only extra cost is for additional guests and of course, golf. Shopping centers, restaurants, cinemas, and major league baseball spring training venues are nearby.

Before departure, please return items to original locations, pile used linens in the laundry room, and leave the refrigerator & appliances clean.
