The redhead next to me is my wife Ana.
We have 2 daughters who are grown and are on their own ( not really, if you are a parent you know) and a 14 pound Schnoodle ( he thinks he is a giant). We have been living in the DC metro area for about 36 years and absolutely love it. Washington DC is a beautiful city, it really is and for people coming here to spend their vacations or attend conferences, weddings, funerals (The Arlington Cemetery), graduations, sight seeing, festivals etc. etc. there isn't any city that offers so much.
I manage the properties and Ana tells me what to do (!!!) We are a great team and enjoy doing what we do.
Allen purchased this townhome in 2012
This is a unique apartment. We gutted out the old house and redid the entire house including the lower floor. Everything you see here is less than a year old and it is designed with great care, taste and quality.

We couldn't imagine a better host than Allen. He's amiable, responsive and helpful. Stopped by on the day of our arrival to introduce himself and make sure everything was in order. The home is very spacious, clean, quiet, renovated and decorated nicely, and well appointed. Located in a safe, clean and friendly neighborhood, only a 5 minute walk to groceries, dining and coffee shops, 10 minutes to Logan Circle, 15 minutes to bustling 14th St. shops, restaurants, pubs and downtown D.C., and a 20 minute walk to the National Mall and monuments. If walking's not your thing, the bus stops on the corner, Metro stations are within blocks, and prompt, inexpensive Ubers abound. All in all, a very enjoyable stay, our expectations were met or exceeded, no complaints whatsoever. Allen will be our first call for lodging when planning future visits to D.C. A highly recommended host and property.
The house worked perfect for our family of 7. So nice to all be able to gather together in the evenings instead of having separate hotel rooms. Easy to Uber/taxi anywhere you want to go and the grocery store is 5 blocks away. House was clean and well stocked with everything we needed (especially the shopping cart!) Highly recommend this property.
This house was perfect for our two families of four (total of four adults and four teens). The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and pans. The owner was easy to communicate with and accommodating. The metro and grocery store are both a short walk away. The Shaw neighborhood also has great restaurants and even good gelato! We definitely recommend staying here.
This home was perfect for our group of 8 women, in DC for the Women's March in January. We had plenty of room to spread out, with enough comfortable beds for all. The kitchen was well supplied and the bathrooms were clean and provided room for all of us to get ready in the am. It was conveniently located to walk or short ride to DC spots, including restaurants and museums. I would definitely stay here again with a large group, maybe my family the next time.
Overall we were happy with our stay at Allen's property. Based on the reviews, I thought we would step into a pristine, clean home but it wasn't as clean as I expected. The oven was so filthy we had to scrub it clean just to use (think smoke billowing out of it). We also found a rolled cigarette on the floor in the twin bedroom and some food on the floor in the living room. Maybe the cleaning crew just had an off day?
We also had an issue with the downstairs living room smelling of cigarette smoke? Allen was on top of it make sure it wasn't his tenants below but it must have been the next door neighbor and coming through the vents? As non smokers it wasn't pleasant but we got used it it.
Outside of those small snafus, the location is close to a great grocery store, park with a playground and the metro. We found it easy to get around. Allen and his daughter were always very quick to respond to our inquiries as well.
We stayed at Allen's home first week of October for family vacation. The home was what it claimed to be - comfortable, convenient, and well stocked, even with a cart for grocery run. We found Allen very responsive when we need help. It was spotless clean. Walking to the metro station was 0.3 mile and walking to China Town metro was 0.9 mile. My husband and I took Uber to the museums several time and it only cost around $7 each way. We also discovered a famous coffee shop "Compass" on 7th Street. DCA (Ronald Reagan Airport) is only $15 Uber ride away! I would stay at this place again if we ever come back to DC.
