As featured on House Hunters International episode -- 'Every Little Girl's Dream Comes True in Paris'

Brought to you by Parler Paris Apartments: True to its name, Le Coeur de la Cour (The Heart of the Courtyard) opens onto a stately courtyard in a historic building in a the heart of Le Marais. The apartment is in a portion of the building that was once the carriage-house of this 17th-century “Hôtel Particulier.” This sought-after central Paris location is home to restaurants, galleries and museums.

The apartment is situated on three levels – a ground level living room/dining room/kitchen, a master suite on the upper level and a second bedroom and bath on the lower level -- which provides its occupants with a real sense of privacy.

The ground floor is home to the living room, dining room and spacious kitchen. The kitchen has all of the appliances that you would expect from a luxury apartment, including a full-size refrigerator with freezer, four-burner electric stove, oven, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, coffee maker, and toaster. There is even a wicker picnic basket with glasses for four provided for your outings.

On this side of the apartment the two large windows facing the street are mirrored such that it provides complete privacy from the street, even with the curtains open. Off to one side, in a small space separated by a curtain, are the separate washer and dryer and utility area.

Meals prepared in this well-equipped kitchen will be served at the large oak dining table, which seats at least six. Plates, glasses and cutlery are provided, as is all cookware.

The living room portion of this space has a double sofabed, flat-screen TV with DVD player, iPod dock, large coffee table, bookshelves and serving table and portable air conditioner. The large arched windows on the courtyard side allow plenty of light to enter through the sheers but can easily be closed off with a second silk curtain.

An ancient oak stairway leads up from the living room to the sumptuous master bedroom suite including a powder room with toilet and full bathroom with claw-foot tub, shower and sink. The bathroom is bright, with “Métro-style” white beveled tiles, an oval window and antique Venetian mirrors.

The master bedroom is spacious, with plenty of closet space behind antique louvre doors. The bed is crowned by a hand-made iron canopy. There is a large oak desk in one corner from which you can write your great novel, email your friends or just send postcards. Above the desk is a flat-screen television with DVD player. The room is bathed in light thanks to the windows on both sides, including an arched window that spans the entire length of one wall. A traditional boudoir-inspired “chaise lounge” near the windows is for relaxing, reading, dreaming…or romantic moments. The space is both heated for cozy comfort or in warmer times, air-conditioned for ultimate pleasure. Two guest bathrobes are provided here for your use.

From the living room take the spiral staircase down to the second bedroom with its queen-size bed that can be separated into twins as you like. There is plenty of storage in the mirrored antique armoire and the room is equipped with a small television beside the bed including a DVD player. Here too, there are two guest bathrobes.

There is a full bathroom with large tub en-suite to this room under an arched ceiling, once a wine cellar, hence a lower-scaled entry portal. The arched ceiling is a bit higher than six feet, so may be a small challenge to taller than average people. The bathtub, under the arched ceiling and surrounded by the same beautiful white Métro tile, is rather unique and quite delightful in which to soak and relax.

Included with the apartment is cable television for two of the three TVs, with over 100 channels, WiFi and free telephone with answering machine. Long-distance calls to land lines in over 100 countries are free. This extends to calls to cell phones in France, the US and Canada.

Le Coeur de la Cour is filled with charm and romance and has everything a visitor needs for a perfect stay in the City of Light.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The apartment is beautiful, very well equipped and in a great location. Awesome historic property in the Maria district, close to great shopping, restaurants, Metro and major sites.  It is beautifully renovated with high-end appliances, furniture and fixtures. Wonderful home away from home.  Spacious apartment, especially for Paris and the location.  Management was responsive and helpful. Much better experience than staying at a hotel... will definitely come back.

The perfect Parisian experience!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was in the perfect neighborhood, lots of restaurants and shops right outside our door! The decor was beautiful and the owner thought of everything! If we get lucky enough to come to Paris again, I would definitely stay there again! Loved it!!!

Exceptional

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I chose this apartment for our first trip to Paris (to Europe at all), and could not have been more thrilled. The apartment entry was on the ground level of a courtyard in a historic building in the heart of the Marais. It was a perfect "home base" from which to enjoy the city. Though it was a splurge to reserve such a large apartment for two people, we were so happy with our choice.

Just Lovely

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was not our initial booking. We had some problems with our first choice after arriving. The property management company was absolutely wonderful to place us in this beautiful; extremely well equipped apartment. We were a party of six that were very satisfied with this apartment in a most wonderful part of Paris. We felt safe and secure behind a huge gateway door leading to an open courtyard then to our apartment. What a nice place to stay for a week. Close to Metro, supermarkets, stores, BAKARIES, and other wonderful neighborhood locations. Our stay was most enjoyable. Sleeping arrangements were just fine with comfortable beds for all. There were so many amenities that we didn't discover until nearly departure time. I would return again.

Perfect Paris Apartment

  • 5 of 5

I recently visited Paris with my sister, my friend and her teen-aged daughter. Le Couer de la Cour was the perfect set-up for a girls getaway. It's tri-level configuration (one bedroom above, one below, and the main living area - with fold-out sofa bed - in the middle) gave us the perfect mix of privacy and togetherness. The apartment is beautifully decorated, well-appointed, clean, comfortable, quiet, and surprisingly spacious. I found it to be a far superior experience to staying in a hotel (and believe me, I've stayed in 3 and 4 star hotels all over Paris). For those who love to shop, the neighborhood is filled with boutiques which carry unique and well-made items not found at home (shopaholics beware!). One of my favorites was a shop called "Heroines" (6 Rue des Rosiers) for having not only gorgeous Parisian-style, but quite possibly the single-best sales person I have ever encountered in my life. The nearest metro station is a short walk away, as are restaurants, bakeries, chocolate shops, etc. I highly recommend the nearby restaurant Au Bourguignon Du Marais for a special night out as well as, what else, the beef bourguignon (there was a great patisserie right across the street from the restaurant, too, but I don't know the name). All in all, a perfect Paris vacation. I would happily rent this apartment again, only next time I'm not sight-seeing - I'm just going shopping (and eating).

Perfect Paris Apartment

  • 5 of 5

It took a while before I managed to choose our Paris Apartment. Lo and behold..., I found Le Coeur de la Cour. Our stay was magical and we loved this stunning apartment. This little slice of paradise really enchanted us and made our stay in Paris as perfect as possible. It was beautifully decorated, in a perfect location and spacious for us 5. We would enjoy cooking breakfast and sharing our stories in the beautiful table. It was our home away from home. As you walked out of the beautiful wooden gate.., we are right in the centre of Marais! If hungry, you just have to select nearby restaurants. St Paul Metro is a couple of minutes walk.., and we can get to all the tourist spots by walking or via Metro. Plus Hannah was really helpful in setting us up and helping when we had issues with the electricals. Overall.., it was perfect.. and would love to stay here again! Highly recommended!

How to do say 'perfect' in French?

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cute little apartment in Paris. I wanted to help my parents complete their bucket list, and Paris was on there. This apartment helped make it possible - a great price for two bedrooms and two bathrooms. After we booked we watched the ep of House Hunters International - it gave a great idea of the apartment. It also was great to show friends who were curious about our stay ! It is on a busy street, yet we heard next to nothing unless we opened the windows fairly wide (we just did because we wanted to). There was heat for cold days, a/c for hot days, open air for perfect days (yes, we had all three - it is that time of year in Paris). We stayed for a week and a half. We could do laundry when we needed to, cook a meal or two when we felt poor and wanted to take advantage of the awesome markets, and loved having the living/dining areas for a common space to talk over our plans for the next day or relive the day before. My parents are in their late 60's and didn't have trouble with the stairs up (but I don't think they could have done the downstairs), even with my dad having knee surgery several months ago. My husband and I stayed downstairs. We did need the fan every night, but that was just our preference. That downstairs bathroom is tight and I did forget and hit my head a few times, but in general, had everything we needed. The tub is bigger than the pictures implied, and while I could not stand up in the shower, the set up is pretty good. Hannah was helpful about helping us get to the apartment and making sure everything was taken care of. I travel internationally every year. I sort of wish I could put this apartment in my pocket and take it out in whatever country we go to next.
