We had a wonderful time at the Lazy Acres home. Very clean and fully stocked for our stay of 8 people. The location was really good. Quiet to enjoy family and also very close to park entrance. Mike responded to any questions we had very promptly.
We would definitely stay at this property the next time we visit.
Thanks, Mike for accomodating us.
Comfortable cabin in a great location
The cabin is comfortable, plenty of space and cosy. Great location to town.
Great home with amenities and under 10 minutes from town. Truly a home away from home.
Wonderful cabin, perfect location!
The cabin was perfect. It had everything we needed and then some. Perfect for sleeping and relaxing for our family of 6. It had plenty of amenities - for cooking, bedding, towels, etc. Mike was great to work with!
West Yellowstone is our favorite location to stay when visiting YNP. Fall may be our favorite time of year to visit. The weather can be crazy - 9 degrees and snowing or 60 and sunny. That’s part of the fun!! But lots of animals and way less crowds! We’ll definitely be back...
Great place! Great location! Great owner!
We returned last night to Connecticut from staying a week at Deer Meadows. The house was amazing. It was beautiful and clean. It was in a great location to visit both Grand Teton and Yellowstone. We enjoyed lazy mornings in the cozy living room area taking in the amazing view. The owner was great. I had inquired about shipping a pack n olay for my toddler and he chose to provide one for us at the house so we didnt have to buy one or drag one on the plane. I will definitely be recommending everyone I know to stay at Deer Meadows when they visit Yellowstone. I hope to return in years to come!
Great home away from home
In the summer there are lots of fun things to do in the area. West Yellowstone's entrance to the Park is the closest to the spectacular Old Faithful geyser, which erupts at regular intervals several times daily. You will also have a golden opportunity to view a great assortment of wildlife in their natural habitat.
In addition to Yellowstone National Park you'll want to visit Teton National Park just south of Yellowstone Park. The Lewis and Clark Caverns with their magnificent limestone caves and the historically preserved old-west towns of Virginia and Nevada City are within easy driving range.
West Yellowstone is located in the heart of fly-fishing country. Several of the most fabled streams and rivers in the world are within a five to fifty mile radius of the town, including the Madison River, Gallatin River, Yellowstone River, and Henry's Fork of the Snake River. High quality lake fishing is also available on Yellowstone Lake, Hebgen Lake and Quake Lake as well Henry's Lake and Island Park Reservoir.
Several outfitters offer horses for hire on an hourly or daily basis on their nearby private lands. Or licensed local outfitters can take your party into the back country of Yellowstone Park, or the surrounding National Forest Service land.
The fall, with its beautiful foliage, is a great time to visit Yellowstone Park. The energizing cooler temperatures make more strenuous activities such as hiking a lot more fun. There are fewer visitors in the Park making the experience more intimate and peaceful.
The late fall is also hunting season and West Yellowstone offers a great point of access for successful elk and deer hunting.
Snowmobiling can be enjoyed both inside and outside of the Park. For snowmobiling inside the park a guide is required. West Yellowstone is called the snowmobiling capital of the world, and close-by Island Park offers additional access to nearly 1,000 miles of groomed trails. The snowmobile trail system is less than a half mile away. You can leave the vacation home on your snowmobile and arrive at the trail head within minutes and spend a full day on local trails. If you prefer to sit back and relax, a great way to view Yellowstone Park in winter is to make an excursion in a snow coach. It's a lot warmer but equally scenic!
