A little dissapointing...
This was a very nice apartment. It was just like the pictures showed it. We chose this apartment because of its location and it had such a nice view of the beach. A few things we discovered during our stay was that many of the electrical outlets did not work. The ice-maker did not work as well. I called the provided number and the person I talked to told me that she would have a repair person come that afternoon but nobody ever came. I also had a hard time getting the dishwasher to work. It turned on but it seemed like no water was reaching the inside of the dishwasher. I did not discover that until the day before we left and did not report it because the previous call I made about the ice maker was not resolved.
The most disappointing part of our 4 day stay was that 2 of the days we had repair workers on our balcony. I understand and appreciate that the building needs to be kept up but if I would have known that I could not use my balcony for 2 days I would have chosen a different apartment. We loved sitting on the balcony to eat breakfast but on our last morning there we had to close the curtains in order to have some privacy from the painters. The location was the best part of this place. It was great.
WHO schedules loud and messy maintenance during Spring Break season?!
I'm not normally one who writes bad reviews; but this was truly the least relaxing vacation I've ever had. The room itself was not bad...outdated and lacking standard amenities like a Keurig, but otherwise it was okay. The floors are easy to clean; the Formica countertops were easy to keep clean as well. However, the dryer made a terrible high-pitched noise, so I took my clothes out and hung them on the chairs on the balcony. This made my freshly washed clothes stinky and stiff. However, that was merely an inconvenience. The shower head in the master bedroom was atrocious; as was the tub/shower faucet. Again...all of this would have been overlooked if not for the main issue:
Not only was there a lift blocking my direct view of the beach from my balcony; but the maintenance men using the lift were on my balcony two mornings in a row shortly after 8:00 am! They patched the first morning and painted the next. It's rare for me to get the chance to sleep in, so I was really looking forward to doing so...I never expected that on two of the four mornings I would be awakened by men on MY balcony! The first morning that it happened, I was petrified by the sound of a sander right outside my bedroom. That afternoon just as I came out of the bathroom from having a shower, I looked toward the balcony to see two men standing there painting. Can you imagine the sheer terror as I'm standing there getting dressed and see two strangers within plain view of the bathroom?! I contacted the property manager, who said that he had been told the maintenance would be done prior to my rental time...then he promised to get back with me. Of course, I didn't hear back. Oh, and due to the maintenance, the hot tubs and the kiddie pool (which I was REALLY looking forward to my granddaughter using) were closed. On a positive note, the condo is in a perfect location in Orange Beach and the view, when not being blocked by maintenance lifts is beautiful. I would highly suggest renting a condo that is already updated and asking if there is any planned maintenance that would interfere with your vacation. This will definitely be a last time for us!
It was a great experience and stay.
We enjoyed the condo very much. Very clean and updated. Would stay again. Thank you.
What a pleasant surprise to see the updates made to the condo. Not only the
newly painted walls, but the updates in furniture and décor. Also, appreciated the
new supplies in the kitchen area. Thank you, it made our stay even more enjoyable!
This was our family's first visit together to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. We really loved the beach and the beautiful white sand! The room was very comfortable and fit our needs perfectly. There was some maintenance done while we were there, but the guy was very friendly and helpful. Loved the balcony and being able to sit out and view the ocean and listen to the waves. The whole complex was very quiet and well maintained. Looking forward to our next visit!
This condo was in a prime location for whatever you wanted to do. The condo itself was dated and needed some TLC. The pool and building itself were great.
Gulf Shores has been long time, little-known vacation treasure; but recently families are discovering the soft white sand and clear waters of Alabama’s Gulf of Mexico. With attractions, golfing, shopping and water sports travelers are making the Alabama Gulf Coast their Vacation Destination.
