About LINDA LEE

I was born in Miami, grew up on long island new york. I moved to key largo in 1985. And so glad to be back in Florida. Love the winter weather here. Summer is a little hot but get out on the water for water sorts and fishing you can't feel the heat.

LINDA LEE purchased this house in 1973

Why LINDA LEE chose Key Largo

My father built this home. Very beautiful and quiet neighborhood. Really love the Florida keys. Great fishing, snorkeling, and lobster, for seafood lovers. Lots of restaurants, fishing boats, snorkeling, diving capital of the US. Swimming. Glass bottom boat at the Pennycamp State park just accross the highway, walking distance.

What makes this house unique

Best place to live year round.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable and clean 2 bedroom. We loved using the canoe in the channel, beautiful view. The manatees loved to swim out front, that was great. Close to Pennencamp State Park. Had a fire one night in the fish shaped chimemea.

Clean, older Florida stucco house, furniture outdated but comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

House met our needs. Located on a canal that is frequented by Manatees. The site provided a place to spread out and relax at the end of days spent exploring.

Quiet, Peaceful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We both needed some peace and quiet, and this house delivered! The neighborhood is very quiet. The waterway behind the house provides the occasional view of marine life (we saw a Manatee). We really enjoyed spending the evenings on the fully screened in back deck, looking out at the water and the area lights. The house has all you need in regards to the kitchen and linen. The TV channel selection has very few choices but we weren't there to watch TV, so that was no problem. The house is close to numerous restaurants as well as two area grocery stores, so you are covered however you choose to take your meals. The owner was very quick to reply to any questions we had. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your wonderful house!

Awesome Location & Very Spacious

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay and Linda Lee was a gracious host! The house stayed true to the funky eclectic vibe of the Keys while remaining very clean, quiet and private. The next time we plan a trip to the Keys, we will definitely try to book with Linda Lee in Key Largo.

We always thought going to the Keys required going to Key West. Not anymore! It was wonderful to forgo spending hours on the crowded two-lane roads driving all the way to Key West just to feel trapped by tourists and dirty streets.

This vacation felt more like a getaway because we were able to avoid the hotel atmosphere and stay in our own space where the neighborhood was peaceful and safe. In the morning, we could sit out on the screened-in porch and watch the manatees and other wildlife. We saved money and a lot of time by making breakfast at home. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need. This also allowed us to pack a lunch (and maybe some beers) for kayaking and snorkeling trips. John Pennekamp is a leisurely bike ride away on the bikes Linda Lee kindly provided. And we really enjoyed dropping our kayak in the canal in the backyard and paddling out to explore on our own. For dinner, we enjoyed several local restaurants. Our favorite, the Fish House, was actually only a short stroll away. The Fish House was featured on Food Network for their Fish Matecumbe. On the way home, we stopped by the ice cream parlor for dessert. We also really enjoyed taking advantage of the outdoor fire pit by the water! Even when the night was warm, we found ourselves fireside and enjoying the salty air!

Overall, we loved the area and found the accommodations perfect for our laid back style. Thank you again Linda Lee!

Enjoyed the Canal

  • 4 of 5

I would stay here again because the price is right and it's better than staying at a hotel. Being on the canal was a big plus. I enjoyed drinking my coffee while looking for manatees and tarpon in the canal. The papasan chairs in the living room are comfortable. The house is old and things are falling apart. It has everything you need though: beds, bathroom, filtered water, a coffee pot, clean sheets, towels, etc. My only concern is that the front door is very hard to lock and unlock. Key Largo has a fairly low crime rate, but I still prefer to lock the door. She also has a canoe, but we had too much planned so we didn't get a chance to use it.

Wonderful Vacation

  • 4 of 5

On the day we checked in the neighbors were harvesting the coconuts from their trees and offered us a couple. The person clearing the tree offered to cut up one of the coconuts for us. Nothing like a fresh coconut to drink and cook your fish in!. We also lucked out when a neighbor offered us a ride in his boat! Right place at the right time! The Rental was very large with two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen, shared bath and a huge kitchen and living room. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner is very responsive to anything you may need or questions and a pleasure to do business with. The unit is on the top floor with a tenant on the bottom floor with a few dogs however they are on their side of the fence. There is plenty of parking with a gated driveway. John Pennekamp is just down the street and I highly recommend a morning kayak(double is great if one of you likes to take pictures while the other paddles) through the mangroves, we got to see a lot of wildlife, sharks, parrotfish and stingrays! Also best to get their early to avoid the long line if you are going to drive in instead of walk or ride your bike. There is also so much in the yard to look at, a little oasis under the tree out back with various plants, statues, shells etc so much fun to check things out. A picnic table, fire pit and chairs out back as well. We loved sitting out on the screen porch in the morning and watching the Tarpon(what the neighbor said they are) rising in the canal every morning. We would love to return as this rental was in a great location and we always seemed to be going opposite the traffic and Linda Lee is a pleasure.
