We spent 30 days from April to May in this beautiful place. The condo was furnished with every possible convenience and overlooks a semi-private pool and the Sea of Cortez. The hotel is a few steps away which offers restaurants, spa, exercise room, and about 8 other pools. There is a discount for condo guests. For some reason we felt we had the whole place to ourselves because we saw very few other guests around the condo itself. The king bed is wonderful. We are already planning a return trip. Try BBB Car Rentals at the airport for a deal on a long term rental.
Everything about this villa was sheer paradise. It was the perfect relaxing getaway that my husband and I needed for our anniversary and allowed us to do as much or as little as we wanted during our five day stay. The bills was very well appointed, the king bed was heavenly, we were able to enjoy the fitness center, beach and restaurants all a part of the property. Ian, the caretaker was wonderful and attended to our every need even going out and buying more small washcloths for our bathroom when I requested. The hotel concierge was just steps away and attended to getting us taxis, answering all our questions and even helped arrange a massage on our villa balcony through the hotels spa on our final night. You cannot go wrong with this villa!
This was our first time using VRBO, and we would highly recommend this unit. We stayed here in the middle of June 2014. This condo unit was an absolute dream. The pictures are beautiful but still do not do it justice. Walking in, the AC unit was on full blast and the space was immaculate. The doors were open and our first view was the ocean and the pool directly below our unit.
Unit-wise, it is a one bedroom with the most comfortable king sized bed we have ever slept in. All of the furniture is new and updated. The kitchen is fully stocked with no detail left unaccounted for. We fully utilized the grill on the balcony, coffee maker (with hearty, nutty, Mexican coffee beans that we bought from Mega) and blender (to make pina coladas, which we drank poolside ?). Wi-Fi is fast and free. The AC works VERY well and is a saving grace when you walk in from a full day of desert heat.
The property manager, Ian, was friendly and checked in on us within hours of our arrival. He explained to us that everything had been recently updated – the bed, the couch, etc. He told us they were working on the TV’s (which are small flatscreens) but we didn’t mind at all. They barely got used. After making sure everything was good, he flashed us a smile and told us to have fun. He was very accommodating and quick to respond to our inquiries for our entire trip.
Our days mostly consisted of the pool, beach time (husband is a surfer and frequented El Tule, 5 mins away), snorkeling at Chileno Bay (5 min.) and meals in Cabo San Lucas or San Jose Del Cabo (10 min each way).
Big picture-wise, what struck us most about our time here was the absolute serenity of the Casa del Mar, which was a huge find for us personally as we did not want to be a part of the party scene. There is a private gated entry and you can hear NOTHING but the waves rolling in and the song of birds during the day. The staff was friendly and polite but also not shy in enforcing the high expectations of the resort – i.e. no towels hanging visibly on the outside, no shoes outside on the doormat. The grounds are extremely well kept. Walking on site, the views are absolutely breathtaking and most of the time it feels like you’re the only people vacationing on the property. We talked with other guests and they felt the same way. It’s seriously that great.
Our experience here was sublime. If you’re still undecided, our advice to you is to simply BOOK IT. You will not regret it.
We spent the month of March in this very nice condo. The resort is beautiful with many
beautiful gardens and plants. The pools are great (especially the one right out our unit).
The hotel pools did not have enough umbrellas so we usually ended up at "our pool"
We did most of our food shopping at Mega with one major shopping at Costco. The hotel
restaurant was very expensive. Many nice restaurants with reasonable prices in San Jose
We were informed when we arrived that the washing machine was "out of order". They
had to order a part! which never got fixed the entire month. Ian was nice enough to do
one load of wash for us and the rest of the month I did hand laundry. The condo could use a little updating. The micro wave above the stove was not working. It had been replaced by a nice large unit on the counter (it took up most of the counter space). The ice maker had been removed from the refrig. All and all we had a wonderful time.
We were so pleasantly surprised by this experience. When we arrived at the grounds, we didnt even know if we were in the right place. Ian's condo gives you access to a 5-star resort, and it is gorgeous. We had privacy, amazing views (we watched wales from bed), beautiful pools, and great service if we wanted it. The condo is immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is closer to San Jose del Cabo than to Cabo San Lucas - although both are very easily accessible. We spent the majority of our outings in San Jose del Cabo. The food in this town was such a surprise - a foodie's delight! Locally grown or caught, and organic produce was just about everywhere. We stopped at the Mega on our way to the condo and bought supplies. What a great week - we did not want to leave. We hope to be back very soon.
This place was gorgeous!! We went over spring break and it was surprisingly quiet. Very family oriented, the staff is super friendly and the food is good. The condo was very clean and felt like home. We will definitely stay here next time we come and bring our kids. Loved it!!
