Great little cottage
Two of us enjoyed this clean well kept home. We were here in the fall. If you love a classic original home beach stay this place is wonderful. You won't get modern over sized bathroom, kitchen and 10 bedrooms. You won't get a McMansion like feel but the quaint feel of an older well kept cottage that is clean and comfortable. I am so happy that the owners worked with an older home to update it instead of knocking down what was there and replacing it with a large obnoxious home, like the ones that are going up all over the Point. For my husband and myself this was perfect. Close to everything. Debra was available if needed and it was a pleasure to have such an easy stay. Looking forward to visiting again.
Thanks for your review, we're so glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet at the cottage, it's an escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. We have noted you in for the same week in 2019!

Nice house, great location
We have been coming to Cape May Point for many years, and usually have a larger group. This is one of the rare times we stayed in a smaller house. Everything was great. The location was awesome! We love the Alexander Ave Beach area and being just steps from the beach makes it all that much better. The house is clean and well appointed - having 4 beach tags was a plus. The patio area with grill was perfect for evening dinners or a late night bottle of wine. The owners were very nice and accommodating. They are also local in case you need anything. Would definitely stay here again!
We are so glad that you enjoyed the cottage. It's certainly a retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Hope to have you come back again, thanks. Debra and Richard
cute, sufficient, needs work
We love Cape May Point & this house has a wonderful location; so close to the beach & reasonably priced with 4 beach tags included. Everything we needed was here but sadly, many items were in poor shape. The driveway is on the right side of the house but the entrance is on the left - We think all doors should be keyed alike or get combination locks for each door. Trash can in kitchen is broken - yuk! Bicycles were very rusted & had flat tires; we rented a couple for a few days. Beach chairs were also very rusted. Window air conditioners extremely noisy; hard to even have a normal conversation. There are 2 TV's - we never turned them on so I can't say if they were good or bad. The patio & yard needs a lot of tender love & care & weeding. The outside shower - ugh, don't even go near that one. I'd like to see a mirror in the bathroom that someone under 6'2" could look into. Beds are pretty comfy; stairs going up to the 2nd level to 2 twin beds are quite narrow & steep. Don't plan on putting an older person up there; they may have trouble navigating those stairs. So, this is why we give it only 3 stars. Location is great, the house is quite tired - needs some repairs.
Thank for your review of the cottage. The appeal of the Point we have found is it's rustic charm - a break from the ratrace. As you pointed out, the outside shower is prone to pine needles from our neighbor's trees. The front yard is specifically geared for wildlife: Monarch butterfly tagging in the fall is a major center for our local researchers, hence the tall milkweed and joe pieweed native plantings.
The narrow stairs are described in the listing. The loft is generally used for children.
We are glad you enjoyed the location.
Exactly what we were looking for! Absolutely loved it!
Fantastic place! Wonderful time! Everything I was looking forward too! No disappointment!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So glad you enjoyed your family time at the cottage! Hope to see you back again.Debra and Richard
Adorable little cottage just steps to an uncrowned beach!
Our second stay at this comfortable and tastefully decorated beach cottage. The location is perfect! We will be back!
So glad you had a lovely time, we are always happy to see our return guests. Debra and Richard
Cute cottage less than a block to the beach
This house has tons of charm and is so close to the beach. The neighborhood is friendly and easy to navigate by foot. Our dog Harper, loved the beach and the owners were very generous with her staying in their home. We also loved the quiet and the bird watching. Our visit was so much fun and relaxing. Food was never far, restaurants, take out, and grocery stores are all close. Thank you to Debra the owner, for being so accommodating with any questions we had. We hope to return to enjoy the fall season in the future.
Thanks for your kind review of the Sanderling Cottage. We're glad you enjoyed the magic of the Point with Harper and thank you for leaving the cottage in such wonderful shape. Hope to you see you again, Debra and Richard
