The town of Hancock is a quintessential New England town with beautiful old buildings and a small town square with gazebo. Downtown has a wonderful cafe, a tavern and pond with a beach. Easy access to the entire Monadnock region from our home, which includes Peterborough and Keene.
Each season is a serious delight at the tree house.
Summer: take a quick drive or 25 minute walk down to Norway Pond in downtown Hancock and enjoy the town beach. There is a boat ramp and a beach area, so it's perfect for cooling off on a hot day or going out in your kayak/canoe. Don't forget lunch at Fiddleheads Cafe downtown!
Fall: take in the stunning views right from our living room as the leaves turn red, orange and yellow. The house gets pretty cozy this time of year with the beautiful days and crisp, cool evenings. Perfect for lighting up a fire and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Winter: cozy up by the fireplace or pellet stove, while enjoying a glass of wine or mug of hot chocolate and watch the snow fall down. You also may be lucky enough to capture a deer or moose strolling by. We are close to Crotched Mountain (15 min), Sunapee (1 hr) and Pat's Peak (35 min) for skiing or snowboarding. You can also snowshoe on the nearby conservation land trails.
Spring: watch the landscape come to life with fiddleheads and daffodils sprouting, plus a wide array of birds. Visit the Harris Center or hike the numerous trails nearby.
