About Anita Dygert-Gearheart
Bob and Anita purchased this little slice of heaven in 2005 when they moved to Oregon from Indiana. It is 160 acres bordered on two sides by Bureau of Land Management land, extending the property for your hiking, skiing, etc. enjoyment. They lived in this cabin while they built a home in the Cascades, and they loved every minute of their time there. Now they take great delight in sharing it with others who love nature and solitude.

Why Anita Dygert-Gearheart chose Ashland
This was the perfect property because of its privacy, season diversity, and natural beauty.

Really nice couple who run the cabin and started our trip with a very nice basket of snacks and wine. This is a very remote cabin and we really enjoyed the tranquility and it was a well stocked cabin.
My only two negatives of the place:
1) You are 30 min drive along a windy road to get to groceries/gas in Ashland. Make sure you plan in advance.
2) The cabin is advertised to sleep 4(which it does), yet are charged an extra person fee for my 2 kids. This didn't seem to make any sense. I would have done a 5 star rating for it if this policy didn't exist.
Off the Grid Fun
Great location if you like being away from everything, but still close enough to al the fun activities in the area. Bob and Anita are great.
Beautiful Property, Gracious Hosts
If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful escape in a well appointed property with responsive hosts, this is the place for you! Sweet welcome basket with home made goodies was a nice treat. Everything you could ask for is here for your enjoyment.
We are so glad you could come and we could share this property with you. Hope you can come back!
Singing Birds cabin was warm, inviting, and peaceful. We will definitely return in the future.
This is the perfect place for a quiet,
Low key family vacation. We ate most of our meals on the gorgeous back porch. This lovely cabin feels spacious due to the cathedral ceiling inside and the beautiful wilderness setting outside. We saved money by cooking most of our meals. Highly recommend this sweet slice of nature.
We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Singing Birds Cabin. We hope you can visit again! Anita and Bob
Great home base for paddling the high lakes
It feels more remote than it is, which is great. No other buildings or roads in sight from the back porch...just a hundred acres of open spaces for the dogs and kids to run free. The cabin is clean and comfortable. It is only about 15 minutes to Hyatt Lake, Howard Prairie Lake, or Lake of the Woods.
So glad you could come and enjoy the cabin and surrounds
Cozy cabin in the woods. It is away from things which is what we wanted.
So glad you could share a bit of Oregon with us.
Singing Birds Cabin is situated on 160 acres in the CAscade Mountains. It is surrounded by tall fir trees and mountain meadows. The cabin is a real log cabin filled with charm. Mountain lakes for recreation are within easy driving distance. The stars are incredible, as is the peace and quiet. In the winter the 160 acres is perfect for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding or snowmobiling. Dogs, cats and horses may accompany you for a fee. Hiking and biking are great during the summer, as are the wildflowers. You have a private pickle ball court for your enjoyment, complete with paddles and balls. Just down the mountain (20 miles) you can attend the widely acclaimed Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. Ashland is a wonderful little town filled with great restaurants, theaters, music and speciality shopping. Horse back riding, river rafting, downhill skiing and fly fishing can all be enjoyed in the area.
