Bob and Anita purchased this little slice of heaven in 2005 when they moved to Oregon from Indiana. It is 160 acres bordered on two sides by Bureau of Land Management land, extending the property for your hiking, skiing, etc. enjoyment. They lived in this cabin while they built a home in the Cascades, and they loved every minute of their time there. Now they take great delight in sharing it with others who love nature and solitude.
Anita Dygert-Gearheart purchased this cabin in 2005
This was the perfect property because of its privacy, season diversity, and natural beauty.
My husband, dog, and I had an amazing and relaxing weekend at Singing Birds Cabin. We had such a great time waking up to the sunrise, taking our morning and afternoon strolls, and staying warm with the cozy wood burning fireplace. The cabin is extremely comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything you need. The welcome basket was a very nice touch- and the doggy blanket too! thank you, Bob and Anita for having us. We hope to be back to play in the snow.
We came to Oregon with our toddler and had three really relaxing days in a wonderful setting. The cabin has everything and there's even a basketball court and a couple swings that our toddler really loved. The cabin even had logs/kindling/matches for making fires in either the fireplace or outdoor fire pit. Bob and Anita were great hosts. The only downside of the cabin is that it's nearly a half hour from shopping, so I recommend purchasing groceries before getting onto the road to the Singing Birds Cabin.
Unbelievable authentic off the grid log cabin located right next to the rogue siskiyou national forest.
We stayed for five days right after a very nice snow (Bob made sure that the road to the cabin was clear). The cabin and surrounding land are _absolutely beautiful_ -- with the snow, truly a winter wonderland. We loved the opportunity to snowshoe around the adjoining land and also simply relax in the secluded (and extremely comfortable) cabin. We certainly hope to be able to return in the future and can imagine that it is equally great in other seasons.
Thanks again Bob & Anita!
Singing Birds Cabin is exceptional. The cabin and the setting is spectacular. My 11 year old sons loved it too. The Pacific Crest Trail is about a 5 mile drive from the cabin and Ashland is about 20 miles away. You are off the grid, but wireless works for email and there is a LCD TV and DVD/VHS player with a very good library of movies. The front porch is a perfect place for a glass of wine and a good book where there is comfortable furniture, a picnic table and a gas grill. We had dinner there most nights. The owners are very nice and accommodating. There is even a pickleball court on the property and the owners taught us how to play. We had never heard of the game but liked it so much we are putting it into a sport court at our home. I highly recommend Singing Birds Cabin
Singing Birds Cabin is amazing. Great setting, very private and beautiful. Played horseshoes and relaxed on the comfortable furniture on the deck. I will definitely stay here again!
Singing Birds Cabin is situated on 160 acres in the CAscade Mountains. It is surrounded by tall fir trees and mountain meadows. The cabin is a real log cabin filled with charm. Mountain lakes for recreation are within easy driving distance. The stars are incredible, as is the peace and quiet. In the winter the 160 acres is perfect for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sledding or snowmobiling. Dogs, cats and horses may accompany you for a fee. Hiking and biking are great during the summer, as are the wildflowers. You have a private pickle ball court for your enjoyment, complete with paddles and balls. Just down the mountain (20 miles) you can attend the widely acclaimed Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. Ashland is a wonderful little town filled with great restaurants, theaters, music and speciality shopping. Horse back riding, river rafting, downhill skiing and fly fishing can all be enjoyed in the area.
