What makes this house unique

This property has a long term tenant on the first floor, ground level, behind the garage, which his vehicle is parked in. The tenant is wonderful and can be very helpful but he keeps to himself.

Relaxing, beautiful home, well equipped for every beach need or want.

  • 5 of 5

Relaxing, quiet home, with such wonderful attention to detail. The location is ideal to hit all the north shore beaches. Every need was anticipated, from iced beer mugs in the freezer, to the great beach blanket. Mornings were a pleasure, sitting on the lanai listening to the bird song, smelling the perfumed Island breezes, enjoying a cup of Kona coffee. Take a flashlight down to the beach at night to stargaze. The skies are spectacularly clear. If you are lucky enough to stay here, bring a minimum of stuff, your flip flops, your bathing suit, and the desire to embrace the Hawaiian laid back attitude.

Lovely Home

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time here at this great North Shore Rental. The home worked well with it great kitchen, dining table, and living area. Do note that the top floor has two sleeping areas, but they are open to one another, not private.

Lailani is a wonderful property manager who really can give you a feeling of being well cared for! She was most helpful with stocking the home with groceries prior to our arrival, a huge help!!!!! She has a lovely way of making you feel on vacation and was very responsive to all our inquiries.

The home worked well with it great kitchen, dining table, and living area.

A few things to note:

1. It has no view of the ocean or mountains to speak of. The ocean is easily accessed by walking a couple of blocks. Once you get there, it is a gorgeous, nearly empty (when we were there) beach!!!!!

2. Do not count on any snorkeling equipment being there to use. Whatever may be there will be not very suitable, much better to rent your own from North Shore Surf Shop next to FoodLand.

Great guys to work with and ask for a discount on multi-day rentals. They treated us very well.

Cruiser bikes were fun to use on the nearby bike path.

3. I would suggest the owner's supply a bit more toilet paper, paper towels, and coffee. Most rentals at this price point happily do so.

4. There is no yard to speak of at the home. Just a very narrow balcony looking at bamboo. Pleasant enough, but not a space you will want to hang out in very much. Better to take your chair to the beach.

Bottom line, if you want a rental on the famous North Shore, within easy walking distance to the amazing Sunset Beach, where surf history has been and is continuously being made, you have struck the jackpot with this pick!! If you go, be sure to check out Ted's Bakery for sweets and great food overall, and take ride east past Turtle Bay Resort (great to ride bikes up there and use their trails), to find the Kahuko Superette which offers very high quality poke and fresh Ahi cut to order to make your own sashimi and sushi! A great old time market.

Aloha Spirit Ever Present

  • 5 of 5

This really is a perfect house for a family vacation. Lailani could not have been nicer! It is a very well-stocked and well-appointed home, as well as cool and comfortable. There is no yard to play in, but who needs it with the beach a about 50 yards away and bicycles to ride to slightly further locations? The bike path to Shark's Cove is a paved - mostly flat with a few ups and downs - path with trees on either side that created a shaded canopy. It's a lovely ride, and Shark's Cove provided fantastic snorkeling! It exceeded our expectations. (Arrive early for fewer people.) Thank you Lailani for your attention to detail and your warm aloha welcome. I particularly love the coral messages. ;-)

AMAZING!!!

  • 5 of 5

It was so nice to come back to this amazing house! And to see Lailani again was like catching up with your Aunty whom you hadn't seen in a while! Since our last visit 2 years ago we couldnt wait to come back. Pies galore at Ted's Bakery within walking distance, bike riding on the bike path (my 5 yr old daughter made it all the way to Sunset Beach this time! The 9 yr old went all the way to Pipeline), snorkeling at three tables nearby, shopping and Matsumoto's shave ice in Haleiwa, and just being able to walk down the block to the beach and watch the sunset topped our favorites! The kids enjoyed the new and larger tv and I loved the luxurious, comfy king size bed and central AC! The fully furnished kitchen made cooking in so easy. Lailani even stocked it with spices, foil, Saran and ziploc in case you needed it. Every comfort is thought of in this beautiful house and it made for such a relaxing vacation. We are definitely coming back soon!

Great location and service.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed on the North Shore for three days. The house was perfect for us. Great location and very nice place to relax and enjoy the north shore lifestyle. Leilani was great in giving us the tools to live Aloha as the say. I would highly recommend staying here if you are coming to the north shore.

Snorkel at Sharks Cove then, walk across the street to either Sharks Cove Grill Outdoor Dining or one of the delicious food trucks parked in the area. The WINNER of Food Networks Food Truck Wars was from Hawaii & many of our local food trucks & restaurants have been featured on various dining programs on Food Network & The Travel Channel. Give 'em a try!

Check out unspoiled Kewela Bay. It has not been developed & gives you the feeling of being on a deserted island, back in time with banyan trees & jungle like vegetation. The North Shore community has worked very hard to stop the development of Kewela Bay... you may see cars with green & white 'Keep the Country Country' stickers. Kewela Bay is just part of the success of this grass roots campaign. Many movies, TV and commercials have filmed in Kewela Bay. Bring your camera!

Historic Haleiwa Town - Take a day to go into the quaint surfer town of Haleiwa. It's a step back into old Hawaii with many small shops & dining THIS is a MUST-DO.

While in Haleiwa stop at world famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice & WAIT IN LINE, it's worth it. Li Hing, pineapple, mango & lychee are local favorites. Can't decide? Get rainbow! It's a little bit of everything.

Grab a delicious lunch with an artistic flair at Waialua Bakery. Locally grown produce, fresh gourmet breads baked on site & home-made baked goods. Get the wonder bars before they run out! Excellent sandwiches, salads & smoothies. Always a smile & a good time at Waialua Bakery.

Getting later in the day? Time for Haleiwa Joe's for sunset happy hour PuPu's (appetizers) & famous Mai Tai's in their souvenir cup. So cute with the sand in the bottom! Sit on the Lanai, listening to Hawaiian music & watch the sunset over the harbor as stand up paddle boarders (SUP) go under the rainbow Bridge... Bring your camera!

Have kids? Want pizza? You have several pizza places to choose from. Spaghatinnis is a quick, bake to order by the slice or by the pizza. There's a small covered lanai with seating, perfect for eating a quick slice or waiting for a to go order. Across the street you have Pizza Bob's. Indoor or outdoor casual dining. Ice cold beer with a pizza, salad or a Bob's burger is good ol' stick to your ribs food.

Yes, we have pizza made in food truckS. There's two.

First is the Original Impossibles Pizza. After 3 pm usually located somewhere along the side of the road between Waiamea & Sharks Cove. We provide a menu & phone number. Call first! It's surfer & local staple food. Always sold out before closing. Second we have Brick Oven Truck. This is a sight to be seen. It is a little booth with a real brick oven attached by a trailer hitch behind. They are usually located between Sharks Cove & Rocky Point.

Then we have 'FOOD TRUCK LAND' just across from the McDonald's under the canopy of a giant shade tree in Haleiwa. Shrimp, Hot Dogs, Burgers, Smoothies, ice cold coconuts and so much more.

Cholo's local Mexican food since 1995 located in the North Shore Market Place. Best known for their fresh fish tacos & Specialty Margarita's!

Banzai Sushi Bar also in the North Shore Market Place. Sit on the floor & watch a surf movie or listen to live music while dining on sushi made with fish caught that day or sit at the sushi bar.

Hukilau Cafe featured on Man vs Food on the Travel Channel & 'faked' on the movie 50 First Dates.

Thai Food Truck worth the 25 minute drive in Punalu'u. Ocean facing picnick tables under awning with some of the best Thai food ever eaten! Menu included in our guest book. Call in & tell them we sent you or call me & I may pick it up for you.

Foodland Grocery Pupukea AKA Dudeland... No shoes, no shirt... no problem. Board shorts & teeny bikinis are the norm. Ocean view grocery store across from Shark's Cove & the Fire Station. Get HOT local Huli-huli Chicken, visit the Sushi Chefs just inside to the right for fresh made sushi or cold beer just down the isle.

Ono grinds brah!
