Very clean, but very spartan

  • 3 of 5

This cabin is beautiful, new and very clean which we appreciated. The beds and rooms were comfortable and it had great potential. The entry road is super steep though - I would not choose this cabin again because of the poor road. Also experienced some disappointments with how the cabin is equipped. There are no tools for the fire pit, nothing to sit on out there either (unlike the pictures). For a short getaway where you want to experience the mountain atmosphere and enjoy a campfire this was so inconvenient and disappointing. I planned all of our dinners around the campfire as the last cabin we had rented had such a nice setup only to find absolutely nothing here. Also, there is not enough seating in the living room. Our small family of 4 (2 young children) were not comfortable trying to relax and watch tv together. Lastly, it was fall and we expected to be able to get football games since they have satellite but it was the cheapest cable package with tons of low level cable channels but no game coverage. This cabin is better suited for a senior citizen’s book club where they don’t use the outdoors and go to bed early.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. As is evidenced by the other reviews, most of the guests that have stayed in our cabin have been completely satisfied. Our cabin is not advertised as a luxury cabin, but to say it is “spartan” is a misrepresentation. The cabin is well-equipped with many of the modern conveniences of home. Although local channels are not available, we have Direct TV for guests to enjoy. Additionally, the cabin is outfitted for six guests, and we will allow up to eight in some instances. As can be seen in the pictures provided, there are beds enough for six, seats at the kitchen table enough for six, living room seating enough for six, and there are even six rocking chairs outside on the porch which could be used at the fire pit by any guest. The road can be considered steep by those used to flat land, however, it is not a long road, and it is paved. The cabin is easily accessible by any type of vehicle, including smaller 4-cylinder vehicles. Clearly our cabin wasn’t for you. There are many luxury cabins offered in the Bryson City area which may be a better fit for your next visit.

Book this cabin IMMEDIATELY

I liked the looks of this place online, but it wasn't until we drove up in person that we were absolutely blown away. All my wife and I could do for the first 20 minutes was walk around the property going on and on about how amazing it was! The photos don't do justice to the view and our favorite part of the whole trip was just sitting on the front porch in the mornings and evenings.

I was extremely impressed with how upscale and clean the inside was. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable and we slept well.

Driveway was steeper than expected but we're from Florida. Takes a little courage but once you get used to it it's no problem.

I would rent this place at the drop of a hat over and over again! If I was forced to find any complaint it would only be that there was absolutely nothing provided in the way of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. However, this may be normal for a vacation rental like this.

The owner was so very kind, accommodating and had outstanding communication. You really couldn't do any better than this place. Thank you so much, Dodie!

Perfect in every way.

  • 5 of 5

This property was just what my family needed. It was just secluded enough without being too far from attractions, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and NOC.

The kitchen was well appointed with dishes, cookware, etc. There was plenty of room to spread out or congregate in the living area with the fireplace on. The views from the front porch were amazing.

The master bed was lovely and clearly wasn't a cheap mattress.

We'd love to return in the fall.

Dodie responded quickly to our questions as well.

Thank you for sharing your cabin with our family.

Beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a great, well-maintained cabin. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch each morning and evening. The driveway is a bit steep and takes some getting used to. We rented a pontoon boat from Alarka boat ramp on Fontana Lake, highly recommend them. Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin! We had a fabulous time!

Absolutely amazing cabin with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is exactly how it is in the picture. They have a nice grill to cook dinner and afterwards head over to the fire pit for s'mores. It is very peaceful to sit in the rocking chair on the front porch and look at the beautiful views of the mountains. The waterfall in the picture is amazing when you get to it. The owner responds immediately. You won't be disappointed!!!
