About the property

Condominium, Studio Apartment

Aloha E Komo Mai! Hello and Welcome to the Waikiki Shore, the only beachfront condominium on Waikiki Beach. We purchased Studio 1315 in April 2013 and completely remodeled it prior to making it available for guests.

If this apartment is booked, see our Studio 1404 (VRBO/409315) listing for availability. The two apartments are very similar. You’ll step inside and appreciate the high location with amazing ocean, beach, city and mountain views.

Waikiki Beach is one of the greatest beaches in the world, and though not widely known, it is made up of many smaller, named beaches. One of them, Duke Kahanamoku Beach, which is seen in its entirety from the balcony, has been named as the #1 beach in America for 2014, according to Dr. Stephen Leatherman's (aka 'Dr. Beach') annual list. Duke Kahanamoku Beach, which fronts the Hilton Hawaiian Village and reaches out to the Waikiki Shore, made this year's list for the fourth consecutive year.

Descend the Waikiki Shore stairs to the beach and in thirty paces, you have reached the Pacific Ocean. Store your surfboard on site, or rent our Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) and paddle directly out to 'Threes' Surf Break, made famous in the movie 'Endless Summer.' Swim, snorkel, relax. Fort DeRussy Park and the military hotel, Hale Koa, are right next door. First class shopping, dining and sightseeing are around the corner.

Your 13th floor lanai serves as private box seats to the Pacific Ocean, breathtaking sunsets, and Friday night fireworks.

About Steve Geilfuss

We came to Oahu for a visit in 1988 and couldn't imagine raising a family anywhere else. When you live in Paradise 365 days a year, where do you go to get away? Waikiki.

Steve Geilfuss purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Steve Geilfuss chose South Oahu

Waikiki Shore is a special building, unique in its location, size, and amenities; it's a perfect balance of solitude, beach and activity.

What makes this apartment unique

We can go from an ocean paddle to a Michelin starred restaurant in minutes. Soft jazz in a first-class lounge and a wild-and-crazy sports bar are both around the corner. Friday night fireworks cap off pau hana and mark the start of the weekend for locals and tourists alike. Waikiki is a multi-cultural mix of people, food, and opportunities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your reviews of these apartments are vitally important to us, helping grow that group of new friends by providing an honest perspective of your Waikiki Shore experiences. Mahalo for your kind and helpful reviews. We sincerely appreciate your time, and look forward to your return.

Fantastic view, and location!

  • 5 of 5

Room 1315 was fabulous! To be able to spend every morning having coffee on the lanai and watch the sunset was enchanting. Beach access right outside the building. The view is one of the best in Waikiki!

Location and views that are unsurpassable

  • 5 of 5

The Waikiki Shore condo is definitely the spot for you and your other half. Why? The location to endless and manageable surf breaks and snorkeling is just an elevators ride away. The Views from the lanai are airplane views that you could only get from hiking Diamond head, and you should. The Place has everything you need and is very well appointed and gets a big mahalo for interior design. Green space is limited in Waikiki. This great condo is located just across the street from Fort Derussy where park like settings are plentiful. Did I mention the view!

Waikiki Shore Views

  • 4 of 5

My fiancé and I checked in and instantly saw that we spent our money well. The view and location of this property was perfect and it had everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable beach chairs, A/C, effective window shades for good sleeping and a comfortable bed helped to make our stay nearly complaint free. Our unfortunate luck meant there was some building maintenance going on that required the power to be off for half the day for 2 of the 3 days of our stay. This effected the elevators, so one or the other were turned off. This created a stressful morning as I helped my fiancé prepare for our wedding ceremony. In the end this was only a minor inconvenience that didn't affect our satisfaction.

We plan to be back many times and will always consider this property as a great option for staying on Waikiki.

Once again, the view makes this rental a special one.

Very Nice!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well appointed condo! Very comfortable and everything you needed was there. Amazing location, so close to everything and just steps to the beach. Our favorite thing thing to do was sit on the balcony of an evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Fantastic of both ocean and city. Managed to get in few great sunsets too. Steve and Chris were very helpful and answered all our queries. We would definitely recommend.

Excellent location and great owner

Steve was very helpful for my particular needs. They did a great job of remodel with top quality. Extremely glad we stayed there. It was a business trip but during our time in the condo it felt like a vacation.
