We don’t want to brag but, this house really does have it all! Directly up the hill from Downtown Astoria, the location is absolutely the best! You can literally see the Columbia River from every room in the house except the one upstairs bathroom that doesn’t have a window! Still, you are close enough to easily walk downtown to one of the many shops, restaurants or brew pubs and in the summer you can walk to the Sunday Market. The main floor features a fully furnished modern kitchen with granite counters, stainless appliances, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, blender and microwave. There is also a family room with a picture window that just begs you to relax on the leather loveseat with a cup of tea to watch the river traffic. Adjacent to that is the dining room with a table that seats 6-8 as well as a living room with a full size sleeper sofa, recliner and a 40” LED TV and a stereo. Rounding out the main floor is a small study area and a half bath. All three bedrooms are located upstairs as is a full bath with a bathtub/shower combo. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other is furnished with two twin beds. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and has a walk in closet and en suite bathroom. There are decks providing access to the backyard on both levels. The secluded backyard features tall trees, lots of native greenery and appears to be the permanent grazing grounds for a small herd of deer.

About Greg Ordway
We are full time residents of Portland and make frequent trips to the coast.

Why Greg Ordway chose Astoria
We enjoyed Astoria so much over the last 15 years that we just had to have a house there. We looked for a house for 4 years before finding this one which was perfect for us and has a nice view. We believe others will appreciate it as much as we do.
What makes this House unique
When we first saw this house, we knew it was the one because it had the best of both worlds; the proximity to town that would make it easy to enjoy all the wonderful activities available but still far enough up the hill to provide a jaw dropping view of the Columbia. We figured the resident deer in the backyard were just an added bonus!

Location
Astoria is the oldest town west of the Rocky Mountains, founded in 1811. It has a rich history to be seen in many museums and the town itself. We recommend the Maritime Museum, and Flavel House Museum for starters. The town has a River Walk extending from the West Mooring Basin, just west of the bridge, 4 miles east to Pier 39 with many things to see along the riverfront. A restored 1913 trolley car ride along the waterfront is a nice experience which includes a history lesson provided by the driver. Astoria has several brew pubs, the closest one is Ft. George Brewing which is an easy walk from the house. Many nice restaurants are in town, also within walking distance. Baked Alaska, Clemente's, and Fulios are some of our favorites but there are many more to choose from. Several good coffee shops are around town. Salmon and Sturgeon fishing charters are available in the nearby marina (about 1 mile west). The beach at Ft. Stevens State Park is about a 15 minute drive. Safeway and Fred Meyer grocery stores are close. The location is centrally located just up the hill from downtown Astoria and it is relatively private and quiet. It makes for a nice relaxing atmosphere with a good view of the river.
