Great family get away!

  • 5 of 5

Great property with lots of room for everyone. Tons of windows make for wonderful views of the lake & property. Super large kitchen made meal prep easy and fun since we could have lots of helpers and not get in each others way. Nice roomy bedrooms and the master bedroom and bath were really nice. Extra large grassy yard was a nice surprise. It was a long walk down to the water but well worth the effort to get down there. Sally was really easy to work with, great about returning phone calls/emails and was very willing to answer all of my questions before and during our stay.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great time! Doesn't hurt that there has been a general "sprucing" up of this property in general. New paint both inside and out, new light and plumbing fixtures and even door hardware. These are just a few of the many recent improvements at Clear Moon rising. Come see for yourself!!

Clear Moon Rising

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed staying at this home. Very spacious. The only problem we had was the water pressure in two of the bathrooms were not that good. We unfortunately went on a weekend where it rained most of the time so did not get to enjoy the outside as much as we would have liked. However when we did get outside we had to deal with stickers. Not good for our dog or us. I also thought that the 75.00 dog fee was a little steep for a dog that was under 25lbs. It would be really cool if the owner would invest in a pool table and place it in the same room as the ping pong table. There would be plenty of room. Just a sugestion. Over all everything was very good. Sally was quick with the refund deposit too. Thank you Sally.

Owner's Response: We are very pleased to be a pet friendly destination, as we know peoples pets are part of the family. The pet fee is a per stay charge and very reasonable in our opinion, as we all know what kennel costs can run. The fee helps offset the additional housekeeping required because of our furry little friends. A small price to pay to be able to bring "Fido" along. There is a treatment program in place to keep the sticker problem under control. A large property with lots of space out in the country definitely makes this an ongoing concern. We hope you come back again in the near future when the weather is more agreeable and take advantage of all that Clear Moon Rising has to offer.

Lots of space and a great beach

  • 5 of 5

Great experience for our vacation with our children and small grandchildren. We had a 9 year old and a 2 year old and it was wonderful to have both the shallow and deeper water for each of them. The bottom of the lake was sandy and very easy to walk on. The house was clean and roomy. The house has an odd layout with 2 bathrooms off the master bedroom, but it is very comfortable with a very large kitchen and 2 living areas. We had 3 families and there were plenty of bedrooms for all and each family had their own bathroom which was nice. Very nice outside patio areas. The house is about 100 yards to the water, but still a beautiful view. Our two dogs loved the house and the beach and water, as well.

The stars at night are big and bright!

A wonderful lake vacation for our extended family! This was our first visit for our yearly family trip to Lake LBJ. We loved the location of this property. It is located on the Llano River arm of the lake. The hugh sandy beach with a firepit, shallow water for the grandsons, good fishing for the sons and hugh kitchen made this lakehouse a hit for my entire family. Two generous living areas and two porches with comfortable furniture made for lots of room for everyone and everything. The home is an older home with an addition which made the layout a little strange. There was plenty of bed space. The only things that might need some attention were the bunkbeds in the first bedroom. The upper bunk was very unstable( the duct tape did not help) and truely unsafe; there was also no rail on the upper bunk. The two older bathrooms had very leaky shower heads that caused poor water pressure. I felt these probelms were minor and will rent this lakehouse again next year.

Great family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this place with our family and friends. We were celebrating our twins first birthday with our first "vacation" since they were born. We invited family and several close friends to come for the day and night. Several remarkable things. Very toddler friendly: our twins are crawling and cruising, yet there was very little we needed to move to keep things safe. Extremely clean: you typically expect some dirt on the floor or cobwebs/bugs in remote corners, but there were absolutely none to be found. And our kids explored every corner. When we picked them up off the floor, their clothes were clean. There wasn't any "grit" under our feet on the floors. Very impressive. We loved the beach and the quiet spot on the water. Didn't have to worry about our kids falling into the water and being run over by a boat. Pictures accurately portray the distance to the water, but it's well-worth the walk.

Sally was extremely friendly, responsive, and I had to twist her arm to let me replace something I accidentally took home with me.

The size/layout is really nice for a large, varied crowd. We had all ages throughout the weekend, and the 2 living areas were really nice for spreading out, plus the spacious kitchen and island/bar. One thing to note: there are 2 single-steps within the house, to access different areas. If you're mobility impaired, this may be a tough one to navigate.

My husband wanted to take the couch home with us because it was so comfy. Our double bed was a 5/10 on the comfortable scale, but I realize mattress firmness is a very personal preference. The only thing I'd recommend is ziploc bags, saran wrap, and foil stocked in the kitchen. We'll definitely be back in the future. This place is a gem.

Meh.

  • 2 of 5

The place was fine overall. Outdated in many ways, but not terrible.

Im disappointed in the way our damage deposit was handled. Wear and tear is going to happen to any property. People are going to use what you have in normal ways and things will happen. We were charged disproportionately for issues around the house. Given the age and manner in which items exist throughout the property, damage should not really be a surprise. Be careful of what you do/touch in this place.

Owner's Response: We would agree that reasonable wear and tear is part of the process. However, in this particular instance damage was done to property way above wear and tear. Not only that, a general lack of respect was evident with how property was left after guest stay. Property owner was more than reasonable with amount charged to repair damages. Thank goodness most of the VRBO/HomeAway community appreciates the opportunity to stay and enjoy these wonderful waterfront properties that are being rented out by individual homeowners and treat them as if they were their own. There are exceptions to every rule and unfortunately it would appear this was one.
