About Patti

My husband and I live nearby and enjoy walking our dog to the beach and along the river, almost daily, to take in the sunset. On weekends, we love to walk to town for dinner.

Patti purchased this house in 2012

Why Patti chose Southwest

Large back yard is nestled in busy area but feels secluded.

Play on the beach all day then unwind on our patio and let me kids play in backyard.

Kids can watch a movie upstairs and fall asleep while your downstairs watching movie or sitting on patio watching the fire pit. (Wood included)

South Haven is a great town and we are lucky to live in a place where people love to come spend their vacation. This quaint town is becoming a year round destination offering summer fun and winter sports in addition to home town shopping and restaurants.

What makes this house unique

Our home has refinished oak floors and is cozy and sunny. Backyard is serene either on the patio or the 2nd floor deck. Unwind under the 90 year old tree in the backyard after an active day. Blocks from the beach and downtown. This is a great home base to enjoy the town or stay at home and take advantage of the kitchen or barbeque to unwind with your group.

Beautiful house made for a great vacation

  • 5 of 5

This house has been decorated to a very high standard and the owners have made sure you have everything you need for a great vacation! Communication was great from the start and are nearby should you require anything! You can walk to the town and beach and bikes are also provided. Although the house is on a main road we didn't find this busy so it wasn't a problem! We had a great vacation in this house and South Haven is a fantastic place to visit, The Cornford family from London

Property is very well maintained and updated.

  • 4 of 5

The property looks exactly like the pictures posted. It is very clean, inside and out. The beds are comfortable and the a/c in the bedrooms are in good working order.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the location on a busy street.

Thank you for the nice stay!

An Enjoyable Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have started renting homes/cottages for a number of years because we like to bring our dog with us when we travel. This was our second stay with Patti. Her home was immaculate both times we were there and we love that Patti accepts our dog. The pictures shown are exactly what you can expect and she goes out of her way to be sure that your stay is comfortable by including many extras that you don't always find when renting a home. She is close to the downtown area but far enough away so that you don't have the crowds around you. Lastly, the yard is nice (however, when I went there the first time I thought the yard was completely fenced and it is only partially fenced in) but on a nice night its a chance to get outside and enjoy the evening.

Great Escape!

  • 4 of 5

We recently returned from a 4 night stay. First, let me start out by saying that Patti has thought of everything and the home has everything you need plus. I was surprised to see that they supplied all of the essentials – including condiments (which can definitely get costly when you don’t have them), some spices, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryers, laundry detergent, you name it and its probably there. I also loved the fact that the pots and pans were in good condition. So many times, when we’ve rented homes the pots and pans are not in the best of conditions. We cooked something almost every day. My husband and I have been renting homes for a number of years now and love that people are willing to take our dog. We loved the proximity to the downtown area but as others mentioned, the home is on a busy street with a busy liquor store directly across the street. The home was immaculate and it was nice to have an actual dining room to eat our meals. The bathroom though small had a nice big shower. (I guess I’m spoiled and really hate a tiny little shower). We had a chance to enjoy the backyard and the fire pit. One thing I wanted to mention because it appeared to me (from the pictures) that the yard was fully fenced and its only partially fenced in. We only used the downstairs because it was only my husband and I and our dog. If there were to be any negative, the only thing I could mention would be the fact that only the bedrooms had air conditioning and we were hesitant to open the windows (except in the kitchen) since we were on a busy street. Thank you Patti. You thought of everything – even having food/water bowls for our dog. I’ve never had that happen before. Thanks so much for your helpfulness and your hospitality. We had a great time celebrating our first anniversary. I would highly recommend this home!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. We have tried to stock the house to get renters started. The house is on a busy street but the backyard is large and to us seems like an oasis away from everything. One of our goals is to fence the side behind the garage. House is in safe area (we live block away) and leave our windows open. There is usually a breeze in South Haven, off the Lake. We are outdoor people and don't have AC in our home. Thank you for your stay, please come again.

Southwest Michigan Escape

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 3 days of fun in South Haven, and enjoyed our stay at Pattie's place on Phillips St. Being able to bring our dog with us was what really sealed the deal in choosing this location. The photos and descriptions are very accurate and the bungalow is as advertised. We found everything immaculate and many extra measures to make the stay very enjoyable. The backyard was a nice retreat from the street side of the house, and we enjoyed all our meals out there. We enjoyed being away from the crowds in the main downtown area, and found it was a quick trip to anywhere from this location.
