About Kim Carlson

My husband and I have lived in the Seattle area our whole adult lives and have raised two daughters...who are both off to College now. We are thrilled to able to spend more time on the Island and we look forward to sharing our home with you.

Kim Carlson purchased this house in 2012

Why Kim Carlson chose Langley

The home is located directly on a beautiful sandy beach with views of Saratoga Passage, Mount Baker, Camano Island, and Baby Island. The beach is perfect for swimming, clamming, crabbing, beach combing and beach fires. It sits virtually on the tip of Eastpoint Dr. which provides all day sun. It is truly a spectacular setting.

What makes this house unique

The home was completely remodeled in 2008, and now provides all the charm of Whidbey Island with all the benefits of new construction. Because of how the house is situated on the point, it virtually has sun exposure all day long. Enjoy your morning coffee on the beach on the east side and spectacular sunsets on the west.

Beautiful views, open concept main floor, cosy, comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

We loved this property and the deck with it’s close proximity to the beach and water. The one and only setback was bathrooms. The second bathroom was on the main floor, with one tiny room for the toilet and another tiny room for the shower. The bathroom upstairs was not an ensuite but situated between the two bedrooms. This may not be an issue for everyone, but it was a bit of a problem for two older couples sharing. Otherwise, everything was top notch and I’d highly recommend this property.

Lovely home in an ideal spot for families, kids, and dogs.

My overall review is positive and I would return to the house for sure! I’ll Include minor negatives but read to the end and Im guessing you will jump to rent the house.

The house is about a 15 minute from ferry that docks in Langley. Langley is a fabulous town with art, clothing, home goods, gifts and great restaurants. If you need groceries or drug store items, there are two excellent options.

The house is down a curvy drive and the beach is directly in front. The view is absolutely perfect! The house has a great setup for 2-4 kids. The King bedroom is upstairs with huge windows looking out at water. We slept with the windows open. If you enjoy sleeping late, there are no shades on the top 1/4 of the windows so light shines in. I saw seals from the window. The bed is not firm. I thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep but ended up being comfortable and the bedding is great quality. The bathroom is right across from it. We found amenities in the shower. The other bedroom upstairs has a queen bed and twin bunks.

Downstairs is a nice kitchen ( appliances could use a little updating but they are stainless, work fine and look nice). It is stocked with every pot, pan, and utensil you need. We also found some olive oil and spices.

The beachy table has plenty of room and is surrounded by cabinets filled with games.

There is a separate bathroom and shower.

We were very comfortable in the tv area. A lot of houses are not set up great for a family to watch a movie but this has a comfy full sized couch and loveseat, and two large wicker chairs with cushions. The decor is simple and appealing. It is a bit like pottery barn style.

On the deck, there are 4 Adirondack chairs and a small yard that was great for letting our dog out.

Although the house is directly on the beach, it is about a 5ft drop and no steps down. We used the adjacent steps that seem to belong to the neighbors. It felt a bit awkward. You can walk two houses down to get to the beach access. The beach was loaded with shells and the dog loved running up and down.

There are houses on both sides but we didn’t see much of the neighbors.

We would rent again and found the owner to be very responsive. Overall it was very very clean.

Upon arrrival, I found dog hair on king bed so I changed duvet. There was trash in the bathroom and dog poop In the yard. Not deal breakers. I would recommend new blinds upstairs and I wish there were steps to beach.

Overall it was a charming house and so relaxing!

Beautiful, Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a couple nights with family from out of town, and it was incredibly relaxing. There was a mix up when we arrived with the cleaning schedule, and they went out of their way to mend the situation and refunded our cleaning fee without even having to request that. They really bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable, which was really appreciated. We brought our two small dogs and they loved running on the beach out front. The views were beautiful, and we spent a lot of quality family time at the large dinner table sharing meals and playing games. I would definitely stay here again.
