Wonderful, charming home with lots of extras included!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place! It was the perfect home-base for our first trip to New Orleans. The house was charming, comfortable, clean and nicely stocked with coffee, creamer, snacks, toiletries, etc. (even an umbrella and flashlight at the door). It is tastefully decorated with nice furniture and VERY comfortable beds. It was unseasonably cold when we were there and extra blankets and bedding were waiting for us. The patio is a beautiful private space which we look forward to enjoying on our next trip down. The owners truly thought of everything to make the stay wonderful...we traveled with another couple and were all very impressed. Thank you, thank you for making our trip such a positive experience!! We will be back!

Cute little house!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the Bywater area! Easily walkable to the French Quarter and other areas of interest around Marigny. Easy Uber trip if it's raining. House was very clean and tidy! Might recommend some more blankets for bedrooms, but besides that it was great! Thanks!

nice place in a nice neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed the cottage, we got use to the unique bedroom/bathroom configuration. But the best part was hanging out in the Bywater Neighborhood. An easy walk to restaurants, coffeehouses, music venues, & great dive bars. And Crescent Park on the River is a few blocks away.

Great stay - Great location

  • 4 of 5

Really cute home in an excellent location. Within a 10 blocks there were great local bars, coffee shops, a small grocery, and some tasty restaurants - perfect for a place to call home while visiting N'awlins. The property itself was quite stunning. While it's not a large house, the main floor had a nice open kitchen/living area so it seemed larger and allowed for 4 of us to have a nice place to hang out with each other and eat/drink/get amped up for a night out. The patio area is huge and beautiful with lots of seating and even though there are houses all around, it still felt very private. The home was updated well, nice kitchen with new appliances, beautiful floors, lots of windows, good wifi, sizable bathrooms with good showers and water pressure, super comfy beds and pillows, plenty of towels, and several televisions. Being the critical fella I am, there are only a couple reasons I didn't give this property 5 stars. First, although it's not on a super busy street, the home isn't very sound proof, so at times the street noise was a little loud. We were out pretty late at night, so we only noticed the street noise in the mornings - people on their way to work/school, and some construction noise was pretty loud from time to time (work being done to a house nearby). Also, while the 2 bedrooms were big enough and comfy, they were connected to each other in such a way that you had to pass through one bedroom from the other in order to go the bathroom or to get downstairs (both bedrooms are on the top floor). Honestly, with the way the house was originally built, I don't know how it could have been laid out differently, but it was a little odd to sneak through our friends' room to get to either bathroom.

Final note - Maureen was amazing as a host! Easy to communicate with and very friendly. Super quick response time via text, and a nice video to make sure we could easily find the lock box.

Overall, this was a win for our vacation - we would definitely stay here again, and will recommend it to our friends.

Good except All doors need lots of repairs

  • 4 of 5

Good house. Clean. All doors need repairs. Need to enter one bedroom to go into another bedroom was inconvenient. Otherwise landlord responsive, supplied us water and even champagne which was amazing.

Lovely Home, Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

It was my wife's and my first trip to New Orleans and we feel like we could not have chosen a better place to stay. The house is very attractive and welcoming. We were always pleased to arrive back at the house each night. We were there for four days and were just getting a feel for the vibe of the neighborhood. It's definitely an area in transition, many properties showing loving care while others are not there yet. There are many funky restaurants and shops in the area, sometimes appearing out of nowhere. The location is great. It's about a 30 minute walk to the French Quarter, and about a 20 minute walk to Frenchman Street. The music in both those locales just blew us away. We never felt unsafe, although we Ubered back to the house once it was dark at the end of the evening.

Others have commented on the house. The bathrooms are great, and if you don't mind having to walk through one bedroom to get to the other (which for only two people like us was not an issue at all), it's very comfortable. The courtyard is spacious and for northerners like us, the sun felt great out there.

Maureen is very friendly and was extremely responsive to any questions or requests before and during our stay there. She picked up her cell phone when called! And for those of you experienced in home/apartment rentals, here's a wonderful feature about the house. Everything worked! You turn something on, it did what it was supposed to do. You turned it off, it stopped.

We hope to go back to New Orleans soon and if we do, we plan on staying in this house again!
