A wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. Was perfect for our family.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. We were there with our 3 grandsons who love to fish and swim. Having the dock and pool they could go back and forth between was ideal. They caught fish everyday we were there and even a very LARGE catfish. I spent much of my time in the hammock with a book, where I had the prettiest cardinal visit me every day. We had a hawk visit each day, many other types of large birds stopped by, saw many large turtles and a small alligator. We didn't have a chance to use the firepit which we meant to do, it is a nice touch out there. The neighbors were very friendly. Crystal River is close we went over there one day. The home is clean, has everything needed. Having a washer/dryer was nice and even toys for the pool. I think we all spent most of our time on the back porch. Even though there were plenty of TV's we didn't have them on much which was a nice change. The owners were very accomadating and easy to get a hold of.

Paradise Was Found!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful stay with lots to do. We spent a lot of time fishing, swimming in the pool and in the canoe. The kids really enjoyed catching the fish and showing them off. Walmart and Save A Lot was a few minutes from the home along with a lot of restaurants. There is a new Publix being built near as well!! We grilled ribs and burgers on the charcoal grill provided a few times and cook most of our meals there. Everything I needed to prepare meals was all well stocked in the kitchen. Bring your own beach towels for the pool or just use the bath towels provides. My family had a really nice time and really appreciate the wonderful home away from home. We will be back someday.

Paradise Found is the perfect title for this gem !!

  • 5 of 5

Clean as a whistle and just as pictures portray. This is absolutely a place we would consider returning to. We had a door handle issue while there and the owners were super quick to get their handyman out and fix it. I can't even say it was a problem.

The screened porch is huge and the fans keep it very comfortable even in high humidity. The pool was sparkling and delightful and garage was packed with floats and noodles.

I was able to sit at the far end of pier and spy on a little gator for about 30 minutes who was sunning on a log as well as enjoying turtles and many sea birds.

The areas of Dunnellon, and further down Crystal River are very nice places with plenty to do both in and out of water. The State Park in Dunnellon is amazing .. shocked and delighted to find out that you can swim there in the crystal clear water for a small $2 admission fee. Restaurants do not disappoint. We found several in Dunnellon are more abundant in Crystal RIver, but that's only a pleasant 12 mile drive. Chamber of Commerce ladies were super helpful with maps and information of the area as well as what the owner has provided at the property.

I think anyone would love this place!

Relaxing and fun

  • 5 of 5

Even though it rained every afternoon, we had a great time. The boys fished, swam in the pool, took the canoe out and toasted marshmallows. The huge screened area was the best. Enjoyed sitting out there, eating out there, and playing board games. Quiet neighborhood and the house had everything that we would need. We would definately stay again.

A Cozy Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This lakefront property is not exactly luxurious, but it is certainly charming, cozy and very well equipped. The home is an older home as you will know by the width of most of the closets. It has been redone to suit today's tastes, with an open floor plan that is great for spending time with family. The master bedroom is great, with a surprising walk-in closet and a tiled shower with good, strong grab bars in exactly the right places. (Some people don't care about grab bars, but if you need them they are important. ) The other two bedrooms are smaller and share a bathroom off the hall. All the linens are fresh and clean, the colors are cheerful and beach-y and the decor was very welcoming.

I particularly appreciated extra gear found in this rental -- there are games for adults and kids, and lots and lots of books. In fact, this house is stocked with books worth reading --everything from Dr. Zeus to Dennis Lehane to Paul Friedman to romance novels. The kitchen has all the gear you need to cook--and a choice of Kuerig or drip pot for coffee.

Outside you'll find two kayaks and one canoe. The lake is full of life, so kayaking is an adventure. Have you ever kayaked in a lake with alligators? I have! It keeps you alert. The gators were small and docile and we kept our distance but it was exciting. The landscape is very beautiful here, and there is a nearby park called Rainbow Springs that is outstanding! Waterfalls and butterflies and lovely trails for hiking. You also must visit the cafe "Just a Cupcake," in the nearby town. All-in-all I felt completely at home but a lot more relaxed than I get to be at my ACTUAL home, where the work never ends.
