This Vacation Home is located in Occotillo Heights, in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. It is close to all amenities that Borrego Springs can offer.

The property is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath single level home, which can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. Presently, the master bedroom is equipped with a queen sized bed, the second bedroom with a double, and the third bedroom with a twin sized bed.

There is central heating and air conditioning for your year round comfort. Wood-burning fireplace in the living room. (Given the pleasant winter climate of Borrego Springs, the fireplace is mostly for ambiance rather than heating.) Living room, dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, hallway floors have ceramic tile floors. The bedrooms are carpeted. Kitchen is large with a lot more cupboard space than needed. It is equipped with 18 cf fridge, range, stove, microwave, dishwasher and of course pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker and tableware for six people.

Full sized washer and dryer are located in the garage laundry area. Next to it is a storage room where the vacuum cleaner, some supplies and other items are stored.

At the front of the house is a carport, which offers comfort,

shade and protection for your vehicle from the sun. The

attached garage is quiet spacious, easily fits most cars and is accessible by an automatic garage door. (A remote control garage door opener is provided at time of check in.)

Sit out and relax on the patio at the back of the property. There is a table, four chairs a bench and a BBQ and millions of stars at night. You could enjoy the the amazing Borrego night sky, have your breakfast or just relax and feel the breath of the desert and sounds of life distant and near.

Borrego Springs is surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the largest State Park in the contiguous U.S. The property is minutes from world class, unforgettable desert hiking trails. You can choose to go for a casual stroll or a more strenuous climb. Other than world-class hiking, the park provides mountain & road biking, off-road motoring, golf, and amazing star-gazing. The State Park has lecture series and hikes addressing wildlife, star-gazing, local geology, and paleontology. Easy drive / hikes to ancient rock art and indigenous dwellings.

Borrego Springs has an active artists community. Art walks / openings are held regularly in-season, lots of galleries to drop in on. Local art scene includes a wonderful series of large metal sculptures of prehistoric animal life.

Within a reasonable driving distance you could visit Julian, an old gold mining town nowadays famous for its apple pies. Cleveland National Forest, the Salton Sea area are also nearby. If you desire more nature then you could hop over to Joshua Tree National Park. If you miss the city or you wish to visit our beautiful city, San Diego, with all its attractions, then you can be there within a two hour scenic ride.

Borrego Valley Airport is located approximately 5.5 miles from the property. It has a pilot-activated, lighted, 5000-foot runway, fueling and space for overnight and longer stays. It is student pilot-friendly and has late-model rental cars available, a restaurant and information on numerous other activities. It also offers the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Sky Trail that gives pilots and their passengers a chance to enjoy natural and historic features of the park, many of which can only be viewed from the air. The Borrego Valley Airport has 99% clear skies.

We hope you will enjoy staying in Borrego Springs at our vacation home and return for many more vacations.

Welcome to Borrego. :)

About Albert and Brigitta Ennedy

I am a retired person just starting on my 7th decade. I'm married to my lovely wife, Brigitta (in the picture) for over 28 years. We have a daughter, Ashley, and a son, Edward, both of whom decided to become doctors. Ashley is a first year resident and Edward is in 4th year medical school. Hopefully they'll be able to treat and cure their aging father. :)

We moved to Southern California from Canada sixteen years ago and love it. We visited the desert a couple of times with some prejudice, I might add, but the more we came the more we enjoyed it.

Outdoor activities, the serenity and beauty of the desert, the air and the sky are all wonderful here. I find it healing, very relaxing to spend time here. The desert air, the stars at night, the whole environment is magical. There are places to visit, sights to see, trails to discover. It's an experience you'll want to return to. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Why Albert and Brigitta Ennedy chose Deserts

My family and I just wanted to have a desert retreat, but still have the amenities and conveniences of a town setting. This property is well located and comfortable. It has charm and character. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. All amenities are within a short distance, yet the desert is at our doorstep.

What makes this house unique

All the beauty, serenity, the air, the night sky, the magic of the desert is here for you. I like to sit out on the patio in the evening and watch as the sun sets over the mountains, lean back in my chair and marvel at the stars, or the morning sky at sunrise. Sometimes our friendly neighbor, the road runner visits. In the evening a coyote may pop out from behind a bush. Don't worry they respect humans, but remember they are part of the wildlife here. It is the perfect place if your are looking for a relaxing, quiet location. But it also offers a lot of opportunity for an active lifestyle in the surrounding areas. We are in the De Anza Borrego Desert with trails to discover, sights to see, and to play and enjoy the desert. (Ample information is available on the internet.)

Great house, location, value & communication. Minus 1 star for inconveniences around pending sale.

  • 4 of 5

6 of us stayed here for 5 days in April and had a very good stay. We had only one issue -- we ended up having to arrange a last-minute meeting spot 30 minutes outside of San Diego to get the key. This was due to a variety of complications related to the pending sale of the house. We were on a tight schedule and this added some stress to our trip, so I feel obliged to take off a star. This was a difficult situation, and to the owners' credit we worked things out in an honest, friendly way. I would recommend future renters clarify key exchange location and whether the house is on the market before renting. Otherwise, things were just as described, we had a great time and I would recommend a stay! Thank you Albert, and best of luck to you! Daniel

Jewel in the DeAnza Desert

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 day stay - wish it could have been longer.

House is in a quiet area with a great, covered patio that provided an unobstructed view of the desert and the mountains. The home was very clean and the owner met us upon our arrival and couldn't have been more cooperative. We especially appreciated the covered parking area and garage. One of the neighbors even brought us some Borrego Springs brochures.

Beautiful Private Home

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home. Incredibly private and safe location, and the house was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Loved coming back to this home at the end of each day of hiking and sightseeing and sitting on the back patio looking up at the stars. Additionally the owner was a pleasure to work with - very kind, prompt to respond, professional and accommodating. We can't wait to return!

Borrego Springs charmer

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our few days in this home. The owner was available and easy to communicate and work with from beginning to end. He had the house ready, clean and stocked for our arrival. He was flexible with his schedule to meet us during our busy work day (which we very much appreciated) to check us in and out. This is a nice, quiet area. Beautiful views. Nice, clean, comfortable home. If you need a place in this area, this is the best. We will definitely call again to book if we are back in this area!

Thank you!

We really enjoyed the stay here in the fall of 2013.

Everything was as pictured and described.

The owner is very nice and helpful - make you feel more like a guest than a renter.

Comfortable, well maintained, clean house and it has all the amenities.

The neighbors are quiet and friendly.

This house offers everything that I need to enjoy my vacation in the desert. It is a good deal, I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Borrego Springs!

It was a perfect rental. I am looking forward to a return next year.
