About the property

Reed Lake, Very Private, Perfect Family Get Away

Come and enjoy this classic lake cottage! Built on a very private setting this 2 bedroom home is the perfect quiet lake getaway. The cabin sleeps (4) in beds but plenty of floor space for cots, air mattresses which you will need bring along with you along with the linens.

Wifi Available.

Te home setting is on a large double lot with tall mature oaks and pines. A gentle slope to the lake and a beautiful southern exposure add to the charm.

Cabin comes with a canoe and (2) kayaks to enjoy quiet lake adventures. Reed Lake is a private lake with no public landing...there is very little boat traffic. However, there is a place to dock your boat across from the cabin if you wanted to bring your own boat or pontoon. Fishing for bass, panfish and northern pike are all possibilities. We include a nice lake side fire pit with ample firewood for your stay. Two lake side adirondak chairs make a nice destination for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

Cabin interior is classic rustic cottage. Two fireplaces add to the gas and one wood. Kitchen was redone in 2012 with all new appliances including a dishwasher. Wood floors, cedar walls and lots of glass make this home very cozy. A large deck and very private yard is great for kids and pets.

Not all lake homes are created equal. If you are looking for privacy in your northwoods escape it is not easy to come by. Most lake homes in the Hayward area on lots that afford little privacy...not this one!!

About Rhonda Passolt

We live in Hayward and bought this fabulous cabin because it was so private. We wanted to have a place to go and relax...a place for high quality family time. This cabin on Reed Lake continues to be one of our favorite places to get away to.

Rhonda Passolt purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Rhonda Passolt chose Northwest

Privacy was the number one reason we purchased this property. The sunny southern exposure, tall mature trees and lack or boat and jet ski traffic sealed the deal for us.

What makes this cabin unique

Private, great swimming lake, southern exposure, quiet, peaceful surroundings.

Cozy Winter Stay in Hayward

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a weekend at this cozy cabin on Reed Lake, and it was a wonderful place to relax! It is close enough to amenities and yet far enough away to feel like you've escaped. There are many cabins around the lake, but they are spread out enough that you don't feel like you're close to neighbors, and at least in the winter it was quite peaceful. A great place to stay and good value, this was actually our second time staying here! Would recommend to friends, especially if in need of a pet friendly place - which was super nice!

Great time

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time & enjoyed our stay. The only complaint was the master bedroom bed was so uncomfortable that I had to sleep on the couch & ended up leaving early because was too uncomfortable to sleep. But over all liked the place & would stay again.

Owner's Response: Jessie - we are sorry the mattress was not to your liking. We have had no other guests complain about that - in fact - the opposite. I did not experience the same thing when I went out and slept on it. The comfort of our guests is very important to us. We will be happy to replace the mattress should that be an issue going forward. Thank you again for staying with us. Happy New Year to you. Take care!

Just lovely

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! Everything about the cabin was great. No complaints! Very, very roomy. Bigger than our little Mpls house. :) The lake is quiet and beautiful. We had a fire outside both nights and that was our favorite part. The water is like glass in the morning and canoeing was perfect. It gets such great sun which I LOVE. There is even a great breakfast place within walking distance. We didn't realize just how close it was. Although there is a full, new kitchen so you don't even need to go there. We are definitely planning on going back.

Rainy Honeymoon Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon. We had rainy, cool weather. It didn't allow us to enjoy the dock and the campfire ring, which we had hoped to do, but it did force us to relax. Which after a long year of planning, arranging, and becoming new parents-was just what we needed. There was ample room for us and our three month old little boy. The cabin/home was clean, warm, and had a cozy-up north feel to it that was perfect for us. We loved the view from the deck, used the fantastic propane grill for almost every meal, and enjoyed the privacy the cabin provided. We rarely heard any traffic, never saw anyone on the lake, and had a doe walk through the yard at dusk. We picked this place to stay at because of the privacy, distance (an hour and a half from the Duluth, MN area-where we live), the comfortable cabin, and the view. It didn't disappoint. I would recommend this place to anyone. Oh-and we took the drive down hwy 27 just to catch the leaves turning-it was spectacular, as was the foliage around the Hayward area. We also had good communication from the owners as well.
