About the property

Reed Lake, Very Private, Perfect Family Get Away

Come and enjoy this classic lake cottage! Built on a very private setting this 2 bedroom home is the perfect quiet lake getaway. The cabin sleeps (4) in beds but plenty of floor space for cots, air mattresses which you will need bring along with you along with the linens.

Wifi Available.

Te home setting is on a large double lot with tall mature oaks and pines. A gentle slope to the lake and a beautiful southern exposure add to the charm.

Cabin comes with a canoe and (2) kayaks to enjoy quiet lake adventures. Reed Lake is a private lake with no public landing...there is very little boat traffic. However, there is a place to dock your boat across from the cabin if you wanted to bring your own boat or pontoon. Fishing for bass, panfish and northern pike are all possibilities. We include a nice lake side fire pit with ample firewood for your stay. Two lake side adirondak chairs make a nice destination for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

Cabin interior is classic rustic cottage. Two fireplaces add to the gas and one wood. Kitchen was redone in 2012 with all new appliances including a dishwasher. Wood floors, cedar walls and lots of glass make this home very cozy. A large deck and very private yard is great for kids and pets.

Not all lake homes are created equal. If you are looking for privacy in your northwoods escape it is not easy to come by. Most lake homes in the Hayward area on lots that afford little privacy...not this one!!

About Rhonda Passolt

We live in Hayward and bought this fabulous cabin because it was so private. We wanted to have a place to go and relax...a place for high quality family time. This cabin on Reed Lake continues to be one of our favorite places to get away to.

Rhonda Passolt purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Rhonda Passolt chose Hayward

Privacy was the number one reason we purchased this property. The sunny southern exposure, tall mature trees and lack or boat and jet ski traffic sealed the deal for us.

What makes this cabin unique

Private, great swimming lake, southern exposure, quiet, peaceful surroundings.

extremely nice! Beautiful cabin nestled in the wood overlooking the lake. Kitchen was well stocked.

  • 5 of 5

Extremely beautiful property. Plenty of room for our 3 grandkids to spend the night. Kitchen was well stocked with items you may not bring but were there if you needed them, flour, sugar, spices, coffee, and filters. Each morning it had snowed and the driveway was magically plowed without us aware that someone had come. Rhonda was always available to answer any questions even when she was traveling. It was nice to have a four burner grill on the deck. Cozy gas stove in the living room kept us warm while watching the 10” of snow falling outside. Glad we had a 4 wheel drive due to the big snow. We will definitely return in the future possibly during the spring or fall. It’s has a great sound system however bring your favorite CDs or DVD because there is no radio or TV reception. Our cell phones worked just fine and they provided WIFI. Thank you so very much for such a wonderful place.

Just what you would expect from a northern WI cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin on Reed Lake was perfect. It was secluded but still near enough to the restaurants, bars and especially the snowmobile trail that we came for. Loved the gas stove/burner it kept the large and comfortable living room very cozy. Also the large bedroom was toasty and very comfortable with the electric heaters in the range suggested. The cabin really had everything we needed and no issues during our stay.

Lovely winter weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin for two couples to enjoy an annual weekend getaway in the northwoods. Clean, spacious, comfortable. Spent the day on the lake and nearby hiking trails, then cooked dinner and played games by the fire in the fireplace. Close to town for fun shopping and restaurants, too! Hope we can do it again next year.

A wonderful cabin getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent an incredibly relaxing week at the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our time there! The cabin was in perfect condition when we arrived and it was by far our favorite rental that we've used so far. We're looking forward to returning to the cabin someday to take advantage of the beautiful lake setting!
