The Beauvais Cottage is a small, well built and very well maintained summer cottage. It has three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with a double bed and one with two twins. The kitchen is well equipped, the stove gas, the house has WiFi, cable TV, DVD/BluRay player, and stereo system. A gas furnace heats the cottage on the occasional chilly summer morning. There is a canoe for guest use, a charcoal grill, a new fire pit for summer evenings, a dock to sun on and a deck on which to relax. A garage is also available for guest use. A short walk down Little Traverse Lake Road leads to a foot path that goes back to Lake Michigan and a wide sandy quiet beach! Enjoy the morning on Lake and return to Little Traverse lake to canoe and sun in the afternoon. Relax as evening approaches around the fire pit. Create summer memories!

Quaint cottage nestled in the trees on serene, beautiful lake
The cottage was clean, beds comfortable, sheets new, and kitchen well-stocked with good equipment and appliances. The place is set well back from the road, among beautiful oaks and pines, with enough space between deck and water for kids to play. The lake is beyond spectacular: clear, shallow water; lovely vistas and a great dock from which to enjoy it all. Yes, some of us got swimmers' itch despite preventative measures, but we weren't uncomfortable for long. Enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds and other song birds, and watching the loon families perch on the neighbor's raft. Proximity to Good Harbor Bay beach and the peninsula's towns were a plus.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Hope to see you next year!
Neat place on a cute little lake.
Mary the host was very helpful and responsive. She made the whole process very simple. The cabin itself is very cool. It has has a retro vibe- for some it may need some updating (there is definitely a 70's era time warp here), but it is kept exceptionally clean. The view of the lake is fantastic from the little dock, and there is a canoe to paddle around on. There is also a nice little fire pit. There are other homes fairly near that are not evident from the pics, but it is not claustrophobia inducing.
The one major problem is that there are warnings on this lake for a condition called 'swimmers-itch' which apparently can cause mosquito- bite type reactions. I saw several persons swim/water-ski, on this lake, and I waded out around the dock a few times without any problems, so I do not know how much of a concern it is.
Just a note on "swimmer's itch". Most inland lakes have this problem off and on during the summer season. Normally, if swimmers do not stand/sit in shallow, warm water, they will not experience any swimmer's itch.
Little Traverse Lake is between Glen Arbor and the famous Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and Leland, the home of famous Fishtown. The Leelanau Peninsula has been voted the Most Beautiful Place in America.
