About the property

Large private dock. 4 Bedrooms, 3 Full Baths, sleeper sofa & futon

House sleeps 8 - 10 people, with plenty of room for comfort and privacy. Family room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, and suite all have waterfront views. Baisden Bluff House is a renovated family residence with all the comforts of home in a low maintenance, relaxing layout.

House has free wireless internet.

2 Tandem Kayaks available at no extra cost.

Kitchen is completely furnished.

Utility room has washer and dryer.

Suite sleeps 2 - 4 and has a full bath (shower only) and a patio.

Our property is off the road enough to give you that feeling of being away from it all. There is plenty of room for parking cars and boat trailers.

Outdoor Amenities; we have it all!

2 grills (one Green Egg, one Webber), and a propane cooker for boiling crabs or cooking Brunswick Stew over the water.

There is a large fire pit on the bluff for bon fires, roasting oysters or making s'mores

Enjoy the swing set with slide overlooking the water, or bring the ice-cream churn out and cool off with fresh homemade ice-cream!

All of this is icing on the cake, our large screened in porch and three tiered dock speak for themselves.

You'll enjoy the large screened in porch for relaxing under the ceiling fans, bird watching, socializing, or eating while overlooking the Crescent River.

The three tiered, private dock provides many extras, including covered top dock with fish cleaning area, fresh water sink, fan/lights, propane cooker, and table w/ chairs. Large open middle dock has picnic table, shower, crab traps, kayaks, and room for sun bathing. Lower tier/floating dock has ample room for 2+ powerboats and an attached ladder for swimmers.

We have 2 Tandem kayaks available for you to enjoy the river; exploring marsh creeks, fishing, and low tide trips to the nearby sandbar (~ 1/4 mile by water) where you can swim, fish, picnic, or search for sharks teeth. 4 adult life jackets are available for your use.

Power Boat owners and serious fishermen may launch at a free local boat ramp only 1 mile away. Turn right from driveway, go 1/2 mile to turn right on Sadie Baker Rd. (boat ramp sign). Follow rd. until it ends. Launch here then enjoy using our private dock to secure your boat and have it available for trips to areas like:

Altamaha River & Historic Darien

Doboy Sound

Sapelo Sound

Blackbeard Island

St. Catherine's Island

Cabretta Inlet

Shellman Bluff (local nearby community)

and much more.

There is beautiful sightseeing by water as well as access to secluded beaches and quiet creeks. You will not find a more beautiful and serene place to stay anywhere.

Reminder for boating of any type. Always secure bow and stern when docking. Be aware of tide and current changes. Have enough life jackets and fresh water with you when you depart. Even experienced saltwater boaters get stranded on sandbars in unfamiliar areas and may have to wait for the incoming tide to get their boat moving again. Good idea to always be prepared for anything.

About Mary and Steve Glenn, Teri and Tom Glenn

This property has been in the Glenn-Mallard family for three generations. It is our goal to maintain this treasured spot for generations to come, as well as allow visitors, friends and family to share the beauty of the 25 foot Baisden Bluff, the ever changing Crescent River, and the stunning mash and inner barrier island panorama.

Why Mary and Steve Glenn, Teri and Tom Glenn chose Georgia

The Baisden Bluff House sits on one of the most unique pieces of property you will find. Our home and 'front yard' has a special character that comes from a combination of the same challenges and adventures encountered by the Guale Indians, Spanish Explorers, and various others who lived along these marshes in earlier years.

As the 3rd generation of the Glenn/Mallard Family to own this striking deep water property, we hope to continue the dream and keep it in the family for following generations.

It is a pleasure to also share Baisden Bluff with our visitors so that you also experience the awe of nature at it's finest that we are so attached to.

What makes this house unique

The Baisden Bluff House faces east for extraordinary sunrises over the Crescent River, our private dock offers all of the amenities you could want and allows fishermen easy access to many waterways in which to fish.

Those not heading out will find peace and relaxation by sitting in the swing on the river or under the fans on the dock and and large screened in porch. Beauty comes directly to you in the form of birds, dolphin and the color changes of the mash grass.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Glenn family

We had a BLAST – definitely want to come back again. The house/property was absolutely perfect. We especially loved:

· Dock – with facilities (funnel – great idea)

· Shower – nasty/fishy men – nice to wash off before going to the house

· Privacy – only saw a couple other humans all week.

· Basic supplies in the house – spices, foil etc. We men always forget a few things – so that saved us some trips to Darien

· Extra kayak – needed one for a guy that did not have his own….

· Comfortable, clean furnishings – PLENTY of room for the 5 of us

Although it was wonderful AS IS, a few suggestions:

· More outdoor lighting in the backyard. We wanted to play some “corn hole” – just not enough lights

· Ice machine would be AWESOME to have.

Thanks again. We will likely be back next July 4th ----- and, possibly even before that during the fall. I have already highly recommended your place to several people – and took 1000 pictures! Thank you for making your property available.

The main attractions and most beautiful views are found by staying right at the Bluff House. We have a lovely 3 level dock on deep-water, complete with table and chairs, fan, lights, sink and propane cookers. Beautiful location for fishing or sun bathing with outdoor shower. The Baisden Bluff House is located approx. 45 miles south of Savannah, GA, 12 miles north of Historic Darien GA and 25 miles north of Brunswick, GA. Minutes from Brunswick, you can visit Georgia’s beautifully established islands. Go to Jekyll Island and enjoy its beaches and the Water Park or enjoy the many restaurants, shopping, and the pier on St. Simon's Island. All of these areas are full of historical sites and landmarks. In nearby Darien definitely visit Fort King George, shop for local art or antiques, dine at Skippers on the waterfront or schedule a guided wilderness adventure with Danny at Altamaha Coastal Tours. Darien also has an outlet mall at I95 exit. For more shopping you may wish to travel to Brunswick or Savannah. Both cities have all the major shopping stores as well as Historic tours. An outstanding adventure that we highly recommend is catching the ferry over to Sapelo Island for a guided tour highlighting the African-American community of Hog Hammock, Reynolds Mansion, Nanny Goat Beach, University of Georgia Marine Institute and the restored 1820 lighthouse. Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is only 10 miles away for the avid golfer. We have endless options for those who want to explore as well as those who want to relax.

Some great restaurants around Darien, try Mud Cat's for great sea food on the water or B & J's for delicious sea food at a great price and less atmosphere.

There is a Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Eulonia and a larger Bi-Lo in Darien.

Wow! Amazing sunrises and a fun home!

  • 5 of 5

We took our 3 kids and dog here for a weekend getaway and had an amazing time. I woke up early to watch the sunrise and enjoy the birds. The house was stocked with plenty of amenities for cook outs and lots of games. The layout is great for multiple families with a little suite on the opposite side of the house. The triple level dock was pretty amazing too. Overall we couldn't pick one favorite thing about this house because we have so many!

all the little touches made this house a home

  • 5 of 5

We have rented other houses in various states, but this one was the nicest in terms of the little things. The kitchen was fully stocked - for real, not just a sentence in the listing! All the rooms were comfortable. There was plenty of seating in the living room and dining room for a big family. We brought little seat for the baby but there was a great highchair in the hall closet. Little things like small fans in the bedrooms and having hand soap in all the bathrooms; I had brought several bottles so I could stock each sink but we didn't need them. We loved the huge screened porch overlooking the bluff. The kids had a great time catching crabs, and fishing off the dock. We truly enjoyed our week and this lovely home.

Beautiful and Peaceful Views!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family vacation was wonderful. The weather was beautiful. The location was perfect. It was about 50 miles from the Golden Isles and

the same from Savannah. We enjoyed going to Jekyll Island one day,

go carts & putt putt in Pooler and site seeing in Savannah another day.

The men played golf on Shellman's Bluff, while some of us enjoyed the

kayaking and fishing from the dock. We also visited with family who

live in the area. Our family loves cooking and spending time outdoors. The screened in porch was PERFECT!! The marsh views were SPECTACULAR!!!

Thanks Mary and Steve for being so kind to us and letting us stay in your

home. We loved it so much, we are already planning to return.

A Piece of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

My former co-workers and I get together periodically to reminisce old times and to make new memories. We have gathered at several Coastal Georgia cabins, but none compare to Baisden Bluff--lots of room (indoors and outdoors), beautiful views, and well-equipped accommodations. We all agree that we have found a new favorite location.
