Owner purchased this Guest House in 2014
Why Owner chose Northwest Yonkers
Ready to move from our City apartment and after a 3-year house search my husband's curiosity lead him to discover more North and onto The Hudson Valley area where we, fortunately, found this beautiful Dutch Colonial cottage look like home with a spacious backyard & detach Studio house. This house is full of light, we joke that even the Sun is in love with the house because it kisses it all around. The sun rises in our yard which makes morning very hard to go to work and it sets in front of our front porch right behind the Palisade walls. Bring your favorite glass of vine and you will experience a romantically simple sunset evening. (Hudson Valley style).
What makes this Guest House unique
The other unique factor of this house is the easy access to the Old Croton Aqueduct trail where we spend our Spring, Summer and Fall enjoying the woods by jogging, biking or walking. Because my husband and I both work in the city the most important and convenient part of this house is its one block proximity to the Metro North station. (Greystone) Due to that the train station is so close to the house, it gives our guest the ability to move around and explore this beautiful, chill and relax area. The closest village is Hasting on the Hudson with all its small cool and hip restaurants. There you will also find a Supermarket, Wine shop, Bakery, Yoga, and Pilates studio and village like small shops.

Beautiful setting, quiet, clean, very comfortable
the lovely house is extremely well thought through, everything is well designed and comfortable
We loved our week long stay! Every detail is worked out to create a comfortable stay. It is close to the Metro North station to have easy access to NYC but also is close to little towns along the Hudson River that are fun to explore, and a park to take walks at the backdoor.. We loved out Hosts Lizi and Christian could not have been more friendly and gracious. We highly recommend this place!
Small cottage is immaculate and comfortable. The owners are so friendly and helpful! I had an amazing visit, and look forward to visiting them again!
Thank you Ann, It was a true pleasure hosting you, hope to see you back again soon!
The beautiful Untermyer park is prefect for hiking and sightseeing with its 43 acres of lush greens and an amazing seasonal plant and flower collection. This historic park has the most breathtaking views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. And less then a 5 min walk from my property off the Old Croton Aqueduct trail.
You then have the must seen Lyndhurst Gothic Revival castle mansion museum in Tarrytown with its 67 acres including park and The Rose garden. And just a 5 stops train ride on the Metro North (north side ) to this magnificent museum.
While in Tarrytown get on the Old Croton Aqueduct trail from the Lyndhurst castle grounds and walk South onto Irvington and visit the one time mid 1800's famous American author, known for stories such as, "Rip Van Winkle" and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", Washington Irving's house located on (Sunnyside Lane) and step back in time with its fully original furnished home. The most romantic house in the whole Hudson Valley.
