Good location - roomy

  • 4 of 5

Property is good as a base and has plenty of space. It needs a bit of effort to make it cozy, and a warm fire, flowers and music definitely help. Property has kept original charm and fixtures, and has a great view of the pond at the back. Although on the road, it is not a bother, and is a great location half way between Woodstock and Bearsville. No path on the road, so not ideal to walk/run on when busy, especially with children, but fine when not. Plenty of good restaurants/entertainment close by when we went (Labor Day weekend). Property might benefit from some investment and maintenance here and there but overall fine, just don't expect high end fixtures/furnishings.

The house was great for a group of ladies who were horse showing at Saugerties.

  • 4 of 5

We loved getting away from the show every evening in quiet Woodstock and enjoyed our close proximity to the wonderful restaurants in town. Some evenings we spent simply cooking at home and enjoying the relative peace and quiet of the house. It is close to the road in the event you have dogs with you, they must be leashed, but that was not a problem. The owners were very helpful to us responding to a few questions we had upon arrival. All in all a comfortable home away from home.

Clean and comfortable; responsive owner

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this house. It was very spacious and incredibly clean. Beds were very comfortable, and we enjoyed using the outdoor fire pit very much. There were plenty of toys for for our 2 year old, and the dog was very happy to have space to run around in. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Would have loved an outdoor eating area (e.g. picnic table) and had to check back about the return of the security deposit (after which owner was very quick to respond), but otherwise everything was perfect.

Owner's Response: Hi Elaine, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Just to clarify. We returned your security deposit in full 6 day after your stay. It takes a few days to get our handy man to check out our home after a guest stays. I'm sorry you were disappointed about the picnic table. It was not mentioned in the description of the house nor did you ask if we had one prior to your visit. Best, Danielle

A great New Years weekend getaway. Will return!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great winter weekend visit. The house is very well located (between town and Bearsville) and close to a wonderful organic market. Its comfortable, as described, with lots of couch space to accommodate relaxation in front of the fire for a large group. While not a "fancy" house, it was very clean, the beds and pillows were comfy, and the one shower/bath had great pressure. Also very pretty location with nice views and a lot of charm. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for weekend group cooking. Look forward to coming in the summer.

Great place, we recommend it highly:-)

This is a great place to stay in Woodstock. The location just can't be beat. The farmhouse has all the right feel for what you would want at that great village. This was our second stay in Woodstock. Denise & I and some friends had come for a Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm's barn when he was still alive some years ago, and that was a truly spectacular experience. We stayed at a great B&B then, we loved the village, and were sure we'd come back. We live in Canada, my brother lives in Norfolk, Virginia, and his son lives in NYC. This year we all wanted to get together for American Thanksgiving (ours in Canada comes about one month earlier), and I suggested that Woodstock would be a great middle-ground place to meet up; pretty much half-way. It turned out perfect. We cooked up a great turkey dinner (I had brought a bunch of cooking utensils, but it turned out that the farmhouse was fully equipped with all that we needed). We also had some great meals at the Bear and Little Bear restaurants, both of them just down the road from the farmhouse. And as it turned out, there was also a great Midnight Ramble scheduled for the last night we were there, which we would not have missed for anything. This property is excellent. The location can't be beat. The house is homey and has all the comforts you would want. By all means, go to Woodstock, stay at this farmhouse, and enjoy the Catskills feel of the place.

Cozy and comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

Great property, excellent location, comfortable sleeping. Key box was super easy. Would have appreciated some more supplies (paper towels, sponges, soap) and a few more items in the kitchen. There are fewer couches now than in the pictures, and would be great to have more couches so people could lounge in front of the fire and in front of a movie. Generally had a wonderful time, and would return!

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. Yes, we updated some of the furniture to make the house more comfortable for our guests. There is ample seating for people to sit by the fire and watch a movie. We have two couches a love seat and a leather recliner. We also have a large leather couch in the down stairs bedroom. We supply soap in the kitchen and bathrooms. Guests should bring their own shampoo:conditioner and bath soap. The kitchen has lots of pots and pans, cooking utensils, pie plates, roasting pans and cookie sheets. We do not provide food or spices (unless left from a prior guest). We take all guests comment into account to make our home a comfortable rental for future guests.
