Property description

"Kuku's Nest" is a beautiful tropical home not just another rental. This condo is a large, remodeled, one bedroom (sleeps 4), ground floor unit, with full kitchen, bamboo floors, stainless appliances, fresh tropical colors, granite counters, new furnishings, two flat screen TVs, quality firm California king bed, lazy boy sleeper sofa, and free wifi. I have recently updated the doors throughout, kitchen cabinetry, and full size range. Also this unit has an actual dining area, rather than the bar seating most in the complex are limited to.
There is a/c, but it is rarely needed with ceiling fans and coastal breezes. Enjoy morning coffee watching the sunrise on the lanai accessed from both living and bedroom. Lanais overlook coconut grove, and one of three property pools. Plantation Hale consistently brings in great reviews for best places on the island to stay. Property amenities include whirlpool spas, bbqs, clean convenient laundry facilities, and open air lobby with small library and computer area. Kuku’s Nest is in the “H” building, near short walking path to tranquil Waipouli Beach. Accessible free parking right outside your condo and ground floor location also makes this rental quite convenient for those with walking limitations.

Located in Wailua on Kauai’s Coconut Coast, Kuku’s Nest is nestled in the home of Ancient Hawaiian Royalty. Walk to many area beaches, shops, restaurants, and entertainment. The newly completed coastal walking / biking path provides opportunity to keep your vehicle parked, or within 5 minutes drive you can kayak or stand-up paddle the Wailua River, hike Sleeping Giant, visit several of the island’s best waterfalls, enjoy Smith’s Tropical Paradise luau & gardens, snorkel or swim at Lydgate's tide pools, and much more. Wailua is also half way between the jungles of the North Shore and the nearly always sunny Southern Coast making a perfect base for exploring.

About the owner: Aloha, My name is Cheryl O'Brien. I was born and raised in Washington State. After a first visit to Kauai in 1999, I immediately felt at 'home' and knew this is where I needed to live. In 2002 we purchased a house in Wailua and started a residential drafting, developing, and consulting business. My son grew up here, enjoying the great island lifestyle of surfing every day and many other benefits of the tropical friendly laid back environment. Raising him here was the best decision we ever made. We lived on island for 10 years, and now are trying other adventures - currently on the Big Island... I am very happy to have purchased this little home away from home as a way to keep my toes in the Kauai sand:) The name of the condo is Kuku's Nest. I guess how that came to be may not make a lot of sense... My full name is Cheryl Rose, which in Hawaiian translates to Kelela Loke. That has morphed into Kuku Loke (thorny rose)... and now just Kuku. So there you go!

Why the Owner Chose Kapaa, HI, USA:
The Coconut Coast has always been what I consider the best place on the island to live. It is half way from the North and South shores, and has a good combination of local 'real Hawaiian' life as well as vacation 'destination spots'. Kapaa Town is my favorite area for great shopping boutiques and restaurants and has the convenience of grocery stores, banks, P.O., etc. The Plantation Hale complex sits along the ocean (Makai) side of the road and is an easy walk to the Coconut Marketplace shopping, Hukilau & Wahooo restaurants, as well as two grocery stores, two coffee shops (yes, including Starbucks;), and many activities. These units always get great reviews from travelers and I've been very impressed with the management and maintenance staff.
