About Kit Corbitt

My family has been enjoying Cape May for many years.

Kit Corbitt purchased this house in 2010

Why Kit Corbitt chose Historic District

I fell in love with the unique architecture of this home. The front porch is my favorite spot! Year after year returning guests tell us that after renting beach homes for decades they will not stay anywhere else. This home has charm, style, and a location that cannot be topped.

What makes this house unique

The location of this home, so close to the beach as well as to town, makes it special. A large dining table makes room for all to gather around.

Very pretty house, in good condition. Close to the beach. Very good for a large group. We took the adjacent cottage in the back as well, which provided more room and a second fridge. We really liked the front porch. There is also a second floor porch, but it is not available for use. Lots of bathrooms, too. The house is also a very short walk to the downtown part of town where the restaurants and shops are most numerous. The house provides two parking spots a couple of blocks away (and one sport for the cottage), but we didn't use them - we found closer spots on the street. There was a very nice up-to-date kitchen with plenty of room to prepare meals and a large dining area with a big table. We've stayed in several large houses in Cape May through the years. This may be the best one.

Family weekend

  • 4 of 5

This was the second year that a group of cousins (11) stayed at the house. We really love the house and it's closeness to the beach, shopping and restaurants. Our only problem was two coffee pots in the house and neither one worked. I called and left a message at the office but never heard from anyone. Controlling the temperature was a problem. Third floor was very hot.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed your stay and have come back year after year. We are changing out the thermostat on the third floor as it seems to be causing problems with temperature balance. That thermostat controls both the second and third floors. The guests who stayed right after you and before you used both coffee pots without any problem. So sorry you didn't call us directly as we could of helped you with that. We will always address any issue immediately as it is very important to us that you enjoy your stay thoroughly. It makes us so happy that you have 'started a tradition' and stay at this home each year. We look forward to seeing you next time!

Close to beach and shopping

  • 4 of 5

A beautiful home perfect for our family to stay in while attending a wedding. Fantastic location with easy walk to beach, shopping, restaurants and mini golf. Enjoyed our morning coffee while viewing the beach from the large front porch. Large kitchen with large dining table. Plenty of beds and baths. Grandsons loved the large jet tub. Just a short drive to the lighthouse and Sunset beach to search for those Cape May diamonds. Cape May is a very lovely town!

Pretty Good stay for the long weekend

  • 4 of 5

We were all very happy with the house and its updates. We had issues with the TVs working - missing batteries in the remotes and just too small to see. The water temperatures in the bathrooms were a little testy too.

The living conditions were good - maybe some updated pots and pans.

However, we had a great time.

Owner's Response: We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and the accommodations at the Sea Holly. Really sorry that the batteries needed changing. We have stocked the house with extra batteries. Please let us know if you ever need anything during your stay so we can address it immediately. Our property management team prides themselves on taking care of your concerns as soon as possible. The family room now has a larger TV. We look forward to seeing you again in beautiful Cape May!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed at the Sea Holly got a week with grown kids and significant others. This is s great house with a good kitchen for cooking large meals in. Has a nice front porch but that's it for outside space since owners added a rental property to backyard. There's were a couple of patio sets and a barbecue( charcoal). It's shared space but we never had a problem with that. House is very clean and decorated simply. Plenty of room and bathrooms. Controlling the temperature was a challenge, either freezing or warm enough to wake us at night. Property manager extremely responsive to any problems, we really only had one- the two coffee makers didn't work a major calamity for some in my family, and they brought a brand new one immediately for us no questions asked. The closeness to beach , ( cross the street and walk through a small parking lot and you're there), was a real plus. It's a beautiful town and we loved it. Plus we walked everywhere, it's flat and has sidewalks and parking can be difficult.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. The Sea Holly is a unique house being so close to the beach and town. Many generations have enjoyed the sea breezes on the front porch. It is our favorite place to relax too. The rear yard does work well with a dining table and grill for the main house and another for the rear cottage. The temperature controls have been improved—we changed out the fancy thermostats for simpler ones so that they are easier to use for everyone. We still can’t figure out how both coffee pots somehow were broken in the week before you arrived! We pride ourselves on customer service and the property managers proved it by having a new coffee pot on your doorstep early the next morning. We hope to see you again!

Great rental for our family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed the rental of this property and the attached cottage for our family reunion. There was ample space for our four families. The location was in close proximity to the beach and the property was clean. Temperature control was a bit challenging, otherwise no complaints!

Cape May is a year round destination with great beaches and so much more. The town is filled with historic architecture where you'll be astonished at every turn by a unique house or magnificent garden. This is a place where you can park your car and walk or ride bikes for your whole vacation. There are many great restaurants, both casual and fine dining. Cape May is located in the migratory route of countless bird species and is one of the top bird watching locales nationwide. It is also a gathering spot for monarch butterflies in the Fall before their departure for Mexico. There is truly something for everyone to do with such a diverse array of activities available to you. It's just a 15 minute drive to the boardwalk in Wildwood and a 45 minute drive to the Atlantic City Casinos.
