About Ann McCarthy

We arrived in Telluride in 1976. We thought we had found the best ski resort in the world, so we bought the cheapest house for sale in Town. It just happened to be on the street the gondola was later built on. We both grew up on the East Coast so found everything about Telluride magical - still do. We were in the design/build business, so, after 15 years we did a huge remodel - adding a large basement, addition & guest house.

Ann McCarthy purchased this house in 1976

Why Ann McCarthy chose Telluride

We moved here for the skiing, but found the summers awesome too. We have watched Telluride mature into the world class destination that it has become. We are surprised by how long we have been here - time has flown by. Our two Sons grew up here, and our Grandchildren are now learning to ski here.

What makes this house unique

We have always loved the location of our home. You can walk or bicycle everywhere, and a car is seldom necessary. Every time I look out any window the views still take my breath away. The 'historical' part of our home was originally built in 1871 - one of the first houses in Town.

Owner's Response: We always enjoy sharing our home with this awesome Family. They treat it as if it was their own. They return year after year. We are looking forward to seeing them again next year, since they have reserved the same time slot again.

Telluride Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This a wonderful, spacious and lovingly maintained family home, right in the middle of Telluride, Colorado. Our family has been going to Telluride for 25 years and this is the first time we really felt at home. We're planning to come back year after year. There was room for all of us, a block from the main street with restaurants and shops and galleries, yet quiet and secluded, a perfect venue. Highly recommended!
