About Owner/Manager

We are a family from Texas. Both of us are in executive roles, and we have bought and remodeled this property to satisfy our need to stay connected while enjoying the mountains. Hence we remodeled this place to be a work/play environment for folks like us.

Owner/Manager purchased this condo in 2011

Why Owner/Manager chose Northwest

We wanted to be close to lifts but not in the middle of the ski run villages. We wanted large enough space so that everyone can have privacy. We wanted a place where we can setup an office sufficiently equipped to allow us to work remotely via voice and video conferencing. We liked the privacy that Keystone offers and proximity to Denver airport.

What makes this condo unique

After purchase, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of summer activities available in Keystone. Bike path that stretches from our doors to Vail, mountain bike trails, and excellent boating and fishing opportunities. This turned out to be an excellent place to stay at during the summer.

Nice location; needs a deep clean

First the positives: The unit is in a great location - close to Mountain House - and had great decor and appliances. Next the negatives: It needs a deep clean and touch up painting. It's a shame that such a nice place is on the verge of being not so nice. Also, it has most everything needed to prepare a meal, but only has eight forks - and it sleeps 10!

Beautiful space!

My girlfriends and I thoroughly loved the property! There was just one thing that I feel needs to be replaced and that's the shower liner in the bunk bed bathroom. It has mold/mildew on it. Other than that, it's very modern, about a mile from Keystone, and has wonderful views from downstairs and 2 of the upstairs bedrooms (not the Master). Also, please note that the Master Suite does not have an adjoining bathroom. The only bedroom with an adjoining bathroom is the twin bunk room. It ended up working out fine; however, I would've pre-selected the Bunk room, instead of the Master Suite, ) because it has it's own bathroom) had I known.

We decided to not rent an SUV once we learned of the "Uber Ski" option; however, we would've done that differently as Uber doesn't operate as well as it does in major cities and often times there were "no cars available" and/or we had to an hour for a ride. If you're just going to Keystone during shuttle operations hours, then you're good to go and it won't matter.

And as someone already mentioned, there are steps before you reach the elevator so pack as lightly as possible. It's challenging hauling all of your luggage up those 10-15 stairs, in that high altitude, before reaching the elevator.

But overall, it was an amazing property and I would definitely stay there again if back in the area. 😊

Welcoming home with great views!

Loved the size for two families of four. Mudroom was so nice to be able to hang all of our ski gear. Nice to have good knives as well. Enjoyed our stay thank you!

Great Location with Some Design Flaws and False Listing Information

Overall the apartment was nice for vacation and the staff of SkyRun (the vacation manager for the property) were very helpful, but there are some major design flaws and false listing information that are not described in the property listing that make the place less user friendly than what it appears to be.

1. If staying with kids, note that the bunk bedroom is on the first floor, separate from all the upstairs bedrooms. This is not ideal for young children in a foreign sleeping location. Also, a full bathroom is connected to this bedroom so it was not usable when the kids were sleeping. It is also not great for napping if people are hanging out downstairs due to the noise.

2. 2 of the upstairs bedrooms had no outside windows and only stained glass windows that opened into the lofted area of the main living space downstairs. This created numerous problems. There was no airflow into the bedrooms if the windows were closed, but if they were open they were a HUGE safety risk for the little kids, and also let in all of the noise from downstairs. When people woke up earlier and wanted to be downstairs watching tv or talking, all the noise traveled upstairs to the open windows. This was not described in the listing and created major problems.

3. There is no air conditioning and no decent airflow unless you opened the windows, but there were no screens, so once again a HUGE safety risk for little kids as the windows were located at a very low level. A 1yr old on our trip was easily able to reach out the windows when open.

4. The laundry facility is not located in the building, you have to walk over to the community pool and use the coin operated laundry facilities. Not a huge deal but not mentioned in the listing.

5. Per the listing "5. Fully equipped private office space with video conference capability (stay connected)". When we arrived, the office was locked. We requested to unlock the door and was informed by the property managers that the owners did not allow people into the office. This is not what is mentioned in the listing and it is photographed and specifically listed as a feature. This is false advertisement of the property if you are going to mention it in the listing and then not allow people to use the room.

6. The Steam Shower doors were broken and using the steam function was not easy. The instructions listed on the wall in the bathroom did not explain how to use this. The sauna also took forever to heat up.

Winter: You are less than a mile away from ski lifts of the Keystone Ski Resort. Shuttle will pick you up at a stop located just 20 steps away from your unit. Short 5 minute ride will take you to the owners side of the lifts (few steps from lift loading area). You can leave your ski's or snowboard at the owners lockers right by the lift or bring it back with you to store it in our heated ski locker.

Less than a .5 mile away we have an ice rink facility. It is located on a frozen Keystone Lake. If you feel a bit more adventurous, you can enjoy para-skiing or ice/lake fishing on Lake Dillon (3 miles away).

Summer: We have bike storage available outside and in secure storage. You are just 0.1 mile away from the bike trail that stretches all the way to Vail, Colorado. You can spend a day in Vail and casually coast back (almost all downhill) to your unit.

Winter/Summer: within 2-3 miles you will find excellent fishing spots along Snake River and Lake Dillon.
