Picturesque Little Cabin in the Snow

  • 5 of 5

All the great things said by others are true. We stayed in the snow and basically if you are looking a true cabin feel to enjoy a nice warm fire with some good friends, this is your place! Laura and Ralph are good people too. We wouldn't ask them to change anything about the place.

So accomodating and cozy

  • 4 of 5

Our group consisted of 2 adults, 2 children (7 & 4) and 1 dog. The space was perfect for our needs. While not child proof for toddlers because of the steep open stairs to the loft, with the proper supervision it is not a deal breaker. Take a baby gate or it is even possible the Rumps (the owners who reside next door) might have one. Knowing them, they might go out and buy one if you request one. They are incredibly accommodating.

Some areas of the cottage could use a little TLC and a deep clean but again, it was very comfortable and . The owners are very kind and honest. They made our stay stress free.

I highly recommend this cottage. The location and the price are incredible.

Perfect place for us and the dog!

  • 5 of 5

As you can see in the pictures, the owners are going for a smaller, homey feel, than the resort style cabins and condos that are taking over Tahoe. I loved it! All the accoutrements of a proper Tahoe cabin are present and working beautifully. Inside a surround sound has been added, HD TV with full sattelite, coffee maker with uber capacity, stove/range is sweet, bathrooms were well appointed, and the central heating worked well when we didnt have a fire going in the fire place. Make sure to read the fire starting instructions if you want to be successful ;)! And above all, the hot tub worked flawlessly to soothe my legs after multpile days of skiing! Cabin is in a prime location for hititng multiple resorts. 40 minutes from Mt. Rose, 15 minutes from Alpine/Squaw, 5 miles to Homewood, and 20-30 minuters to Northstar. House was cleanly, everything worked, nothing needing repair. Thanks for the awesome stay!

Cute and comfy cabin very close to the lake

  • 4 of 5

Three of us old friends and our three very well-behaved dogs spent three nights at this very comfortable cabin close to the lake and Sunnyside, which was desirable for us. It is not large, but fit our needs well. It was clean and well-stocked with provisions. The small fenced yard worked well so the dogs could wander around and stretch their legs. We didn't use the kitchen a lot, but it had all the accessories to get meals prepared. It is "old Tahoe" style which is charming but well-maintained.

Laura was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating. We would suggest this home for a small group or family wanting to be close to the lake and bring along the pups.

Beautiful yard, comfortable house, and unbelievably dog friendle and awesome owners

  • 5 of 5

This house was very comfortable and cozy. My husband and I visited with his sister and her husband and 4 medium to large dogs. The owner, Laura, was so helpful in assisting us to find dog friendly places in Tahoe. The yard is well fenced for the dogs and the back patio was lovely. We spent every evening sitting out at the back table watching the sun leave the sky and listening to the wind in the trees. The neighborhood is quiet, and very close to town. This was an amazing trip and we were lucky to find a house that was so dog friendly. We will be back!

Cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a great location near the lake and sunnyside restaurant! Robert and Laura were so helpful - leaving us a baby gate and booster seat as well as a stroller. It is by no means baby proof so you have to watch baby like a hawk (maybe bring a play pen or jumper...). They also left us Peets coffee beans, a bottle of wine and cookies! And there are cooking oils and spices in the kitchen. it's a cozy, older cabin with charm (by no means luxurious). The beds were comfy, which is something I am always concerned about - especially when it's an older place. Hot tub was welcome after a day of skiing - nothing fancy just hot - we enjoyed sitting in it at night and looking at the stars through the trees. Definitely read through the instructions on the condo (including fireplace) - they are even hand written, which makes you feel that much more like you're in a friend or family members home. We hope to return - maybe even in a different season.
