About JoDee Burton or Hughes Burton

We both are in love with the Fancy Gap slow pace and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. This is an incredible place to visit or live, with the Blue Ridge Parkway within sight. Lots of rivers and creeks for fishing, wineries, the wonderful weather and mountain breezes

Why JoDee Burton or Hughes Burton chose Blue Ridge Highlands

We love fishing, golf, riding our motorcycles on the BRPW. This area just slows your heart rate down! The trout fishing is great, with stocked creeks and rivers nearby. The weather is incredible with a constant breeze and your not fighting the insects while doing outdoor activities.

What makes this cabin unique

The Blue Ridge Parkway is within sight of the cabins and the peacefulness has no comparison. We do have motorcycle parking, and within a mile of our cabins is a new Restaurant and Bar, 'Raps', with the biker in mind, special parking, motorcycle rides and events.

You feel like you can touch the stars

Beautiful area!! Great host!! Caught fish in the pond and used the front porch swing to look at the moon on the pond at night. We were out in the country but felt safe because there are homes around us but still private. My sister was able to bring her precious pet.

Great time.

Loved the cabin. It was clean, relaxing and all your needs were provided. Jodee's recommendation for the Mason Jar ended up being such a hit, we ended up going twice in a row. My wife posted pics of our trip on FB and have had a ton of people asking her where to book this neat little place. Will go again. 10 out of 10 recommended.

Beautiful cabin with great access to Mt. Airy and the Blue Ridge Parkway

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to Jodee and Hughes for a great week with our family. We loved the cabin and it was perfect for our family's vacation. Everything you need is there so just bring your clothes and groceries and let the fun begin.

The pond is loaded with fish and there's plenty of wood for campfires and s'mores. The deck is great for dining outside on freshly grilled eats from the charcoal barbecue and relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying the birds by the pond. We were lucky enough to be there for the eclipse on Monday which I'm sure my family will always remember.

We enjoyed all of the history Mayberry had to offer and spent lots of time with our extended family. Creek Bottom Brewing and the Loaded Goat had great food and beers and we also enjoyed golfing at Sklyland Lakes.

We are looking forward to visiting again next year. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful cabin!

Perfect

My husband and I had a very relaxing 4 days at the cabin. The pond, birds, chipmunks and sitting around the campfire at night made it perfect. We will be back for many stays.

This is a convenient short drive from the triad area of N.C. and the views/outdoor activities are phenomenal. Hiking, biking, relaxing, and enjoying the 'quiet.' Numerous wineries, cherry, apple orchards, peach orchards, and quaint shops; your blood pressure lowers as your driving up the mountain to reach your destination. Mt. Airy, best known as 'Mayberry', is a 15 minute drive down Orchard Gap rd which takes you right into downtown. Visit the museum, have a Snappys Porkchop sandwich and please visit Floyds Barbershop!

The hiking is phenomenal near the cabin with views, caves, water falls and cliffs. There is horseback riding on New River Trail at Foster Falls. Take a picnic lunch, ride the trail on horseback or your bike, and then go down the falls in a kayak or canoe. The fishing is great for walleye, musky and small mouth bass, along with the trout stocked streams and creeks in the area as well.
