Great days in the Keys!!

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from our first visit to Key Largo. We stayed in a wonderful home right on the ocean with a fantastic view. The breeze coming off the ocean was so great, keeping us cool even in the hot temps. The house was spotless and had everything we could have needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable, all the cookware you could need, books, cd's, games and movies.Daniel, the owner. was great!! He started us out with the best directions to get from Miami airport to his house, which were greatly appreciated since Miami was abit overwhelming. He sent Emails to make sure everything was alright, and he had a list of favorite restaurants and things to do in the area. Our favorite restaurant was Shipwrecked!!! Wonderful food and great atmosphere. We had a shallow water encounter with the dolphins at Dolphins Plus, which was tremendous!! We went to the sea turtle hospital, road in the glass bottom boat to see the reefs, did alittle snorkeling, and drove down to Key West and explored alot of it. It was such a wonderful trip. I recommend this Home Away booking to anyone that wants to be out of the noise and traffic but very close to anything you would be interested in doing.

Five stars for the $

  • 5 of 5

Great spot for basic accommodations. Nothing fancy but the house was clean and is tucked away down a gravel dirt road from all the commotion of Key Largo. The kitchen and living room space is nice and roomy.

The absolute best part of this place is the proximity to the water and the included kayak. Don't stay here and not take advantage of going out and exploring the ocean a bit. It would be great spot to explore on a paddle board as you'll be able to see fish a bit easier.

Very clean and damage free home after The hurricane. A tranquil setting in a quite area.

  • 5 of 5

Daniel was wonderful to work with through the entire process. The house was extremely clean as well as the property. During the day we would look for different sea life in the canal as well as in the sea. There are many iguanas around the area so make sure to look for them in the trees. The property didn’t seem to have been damaged at all by Hurricane Irma, and if it was Daniel fixed it up before we arrived because the house is perfect. We only have two small complaints: (1) the dryer needs some TLC but Daniel is aware of it and stated he would be getting this fixed. (2) There isn’t anything anyone can really do about it, but on our last night there, there were millions of black flies around. But like I said it was one day of them and I believe it has to do with how calm the day was. You are very close to a few parks, but as Daniel will recommend in your welcome letter, Founders Park (30 minute drive South) is a really nice place for a beach or a super nice pool. Bahia Honda State Park has always been our favorite place to visit, but Irma did a job on that little island so half of the Park was still closed, but the half that is still open is very beautiful and clean. Make sure to get a Key Lime Pie when you get there from the Key Lime Pie Factory about 20 minutes South, it’s wonderful! All in all I absolutely enjoyed the time at the house and visiting the near by Keys. As I stated before Daniel is wonderful to work with and would highly recommend his home.

Key Largo vacation in Atlantic side coastal house

  • 4 of 5

My family was very satisfied with this vacation rental in northern Key Largo. As portrayed, the house sits only one house removed from the shoreline with unobstructed views of the sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean. The shoreline is protected by an offshore reef making the water very calm and easy to kayak in.(The shoreline is rocky but accessible) The house sits at the end of the road in a very tranquil rural neighborhood. The house is very well maintained and the inside of the house very clean and well provisioned. There are no signs of damage to the house from Hurricane Irma . The house is in easy driving distance to super markets and lots of restaurants along Highway 1 (called the Overseas Highway). There is an abundance of boats of all sizes available for fishing and most water sports all along the Atlantic and Gulf side as well as local beaches and public swimming pools and places to see sea mammals. We actually saw a manatee and her pup on our last day near a pier (Robbie's) A car rental is a must here. There is no shortage of things to do and see here. We especially enjoyed all the seafood. The house owner Daniel was extremely helpful and available by phone for any questions that may come up. The Wi-Fi was reliable although a little slow at times.

Fabulous Atlantic Coast Property

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was less than an hour from the Miami airport. The owner, Daniel, was very friendly and gracious before, during, and after our visit. We were concerned that Irma may have had lingering impacts on the area, but Daniel had already cleaned and made repairs so that the property was even nicer than advertised. The house and amenities were excellent so that we were perfectly comfortable. We went out on his sea kayak a couple of times and had lots of fun. The view is just as impressive as advertised. The weather was forecast for overcast and occasional rain for our full visit, but we only had rain a single day and most days were mostly clear with sun, including beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The Keys there and 30 miles west were mostly back to normal so that we were able to rent boats, swim with the dolphins, and do other fun local activities. We extend our thanks to Daniel for the wonderful stay and encourage anyone else wanting to visit the eastern Keys to do so (we didn't visit the western Keys).
