About Alane McNulty
My husband and I have been married and living on Manhattan's Upper West Side for 20 wonderful years! I am an artist and he is a business guy. We have 3 teens -- ages 19, 18 and 16. We created this home for bringing family and friends together in a space that is both elegant and comfortable, light and inviting. In the warm weather, we gather in our very tranquil and private garden and in the winter around our big dining table or our comfy living room. It's all about community!
Why Alane McNulty chose Manhattan
Our historically landmarked brownstone was built at the turn of the 19th century when people began moving uptown for more space. You have already read about our amazing location--close to culture, dining, Central Park, music, history and the B, C, 1, 2, 3 trains. In addition, we have a very special block of friendly neighbors who plant flowers together for Mothers' Day and care for each other and our neighborhood. We just listed the property in April and we look forward to sharing it with you!
What makes this Apartment unique

Location, location, location!
We just spent a wonderful five days exploring Central Park and UWS restaurants and museums. This charming apartment was the perfect base for us and a delightful place to return to at the end of a busy day. Lanie was very helpful and accommodating from beginning to end of the rental. We can see why there isn't a lot of availability. After staying here we don't want to stay in hotel rooms again in NY.
Quiet, comfortable and spacious.
Great space, beautiful patio, responsive owners.
Will definitely return!
Clean and Quiet
This is a beautiful, clean and quiet property on the Upper West Side. It was plenty of space for our family of four and incredibly close to Central Park. It is a great location. We walked to most of the sites and took short subway or uber rides everywhere else. The owners are very kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.
Lanie's place is in a perfect location and she is the perfect host. Answered all our questions in a timely manner and the apartment was as advertised. Would highly recommend.
If I could give 10 stars for location I would. The neighborhood was quiet and close to everything. We walked each day to Central Park with our young grandson for a carousel ride or a splash in the children’s adventure area.
There were wonderful bakeries and restaurants a few blocks away . Shout out to Orwashers and Sarabeths. Our son and daughter in law enjoyed watching both the Yankees and Mets play. The children’s museum and the Natural History museum were right around the corner . Beetlejuice was a great theatre experience.
But my favorite part was sitting in the private terrace area of the apt. So peaceful and pleasant after a day of being a tourist.
great NYC family vacation venue and location
Great location, very considerate owners, comfortable -- happy we stayed here - my family will remember this trip and this property fondly. Thanks so much --
Located at the start of the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the finish of the NYC Marathon, "Oasis on Central Park West" is around the corner from the Museum of Natural History, the NY Children's Museum, Beacon Theater, Lincoln Center (home of the NY Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the NYC Ballet, two Broadway theaters and Wynton Marsolis' Jazz at Lincoln Center). From the entrance to Central Park right at the end of our block, you can listen to John Lennon's songs at Strawberry Fields, watch Shakespeare in the Park, ride the Carousel, skate at Wolman Rink. For the sports-minded, take a morning jog around the Park's 6-mile loop (or one of the smaller loops) or along the Hudson River or rent a Citi-bike and take the bike trail to Chelsea Piers or the Brooklyn Bridge. We are near LOTS of subways: It's just one express stop on the 1-2-3 train to Broadway and three stops on the B train to Rockefeller Center and MOMA and three more stops to SoHo and the East Village. And right out our doorstop are endless numbers of hip coffee shops (Bluestone Lane, Irving Farm, Maison Kayser, Da Capo), fine dining (Red Farm, Lincoln, Cafe Luxembourg, Oxtail, Shun Lee and Boulud Sud are our faves) and the city's best shopping, including stores you know (Vince, Lululemon, Theory, Rag & Bone) and those that only locals know -- Liana, CPW, A Tempo). Then after a long day, return to our quiet, tree-lined block and enjoy tea or a glass of wine in the garden.
