About Tom Howe

The Howe's are Chicagoans who love the ocean and outdoor life. Both Tom and CJ grew up in the East Coast and missed the shore life. CJ is a published author and wanted to be part of the writer's enclave in Key West.

Tom Howe purchased this condo in 2011

Why Tom Howe chose Old Town

We loved the Key's and had vacationed down there often. Every time we went - we looked at property and dreamed of owning. We finally found this gem and decided we had to buy.

What makes this condo unique

This condo has 1) history - it is in the old Key West Naval HQ. 2) has a beautiful ocean view - the sunsets are spectacular 3) is mere steps away from all of the action but still seems quiet and secluded.

Best Vacation Ever!!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is so beautiful! And so comfortable! We REALLY enjoyed staying here. It cost a little less than the other ones I looked at in this complex so that is another plus. It isn't directly facing the water but on the balcony we could still enjoy the view!! And it is so conveniently located, we walked almost everywhere, every day!! Everything we needed was there except a pizza pan and pizza cutter but hey, who stays in for frozen pizza while in Key West??!! (Only the Zimmermans! LOL!!) Both my kids (age 20...) kept saying how they would definitely come back to this condo. It is just as you see in the pictures: colorful, clean, just the right size. And we didn't see any other people at the complex the entire week except one day (at the pool), it was like our own private resort! It was great to go out the gate and walk along the waterfront. Historic Hideaways is fantastic, such a nice man (Tim, I think...sorry) So, just a fantastic place to stay, we highly recommend it!! While in Key West, ride the Old Town Trolley early to get a feel for the island. We enjoyed Truman's Little White House, the Hemingway House, the Aquarium, Mel Fisher's museum. So many restaurants!! Two Friends Patio, Red Fish Blue Fish, Paradise Pizza, Hog's Breath Saloon, Half Shell Raw Bar!! Went to Hog Fish Bar and Grill on Stock Island but we were very disappointed with the service. The food was good, though. Took the ferry to Dry Tortugas: SOOOO beautiful but we got a bit seasick on the way back!! Climb the tower at the shipwreck museum for a great view!! ......Thanks for sharing your place with us, we thought it was fantastic and would love to return some day! We highly recommend it!!
